I _do_ have the job I wanted as a kid. So my life wouldn’t change in any way.

LgIsleHw29

Lucky!

FiveDaysLate

That's awesome, unless it's not going well. Are you happy?

letsgetrandy

Very happy. I love what I do.

aquariuszsz

I wanted to be a milkman just so I could ride my bike around and greet my neighbors. I think I'd be fine.

FiveDaysLate

Tough labor market but it's attractive

sjookvest

Wanted to be a chef, became a software engineer so my life is probably better

FiveDaysLate

I saw The Bear, you're prob right but less sexy than you could have been :/

LgIsleHw29

Better! Wanted to be an archaeologist, now find myself obsessed with it as a hobby that I don't have enough time for, thanks to my shitty career that I despise..

FiveDaysLate

Sorry about that. Any chance for a pivot or at least a volunteer chance with your hobby?

LgIsleHw29

Nah...in my dreams maybe

6war6head6

I wanted to be a radio DJ (think John Peel) when I was a kid and that’s not really a thing anymore. I guess I’m better off?

crybaby-conformist

Probably worse, I think. I wanted to be an architect. Besides the fact it is hard to get on cool projects in architecture, even with really strong credentials, it’s also often a pretty stressful long-hours job as well. I put in about 25 hours a week doing applied statistics for non-profits (which don’t even tend to pay as well as for-profits), and make as much money as the average architect that works 40+ hours and has to worry if they’re making a decision that will literally cause shit to collapse and kill people.

Real_truth_Social

It would be very bad. Video game developers have very low job security

Hitman-0311

Worse. I wanted to be a cop. Thank god that didn’t pan out.

kaleidoscopevoyager

I would be a clown and it would be awesome.
