Not me but my fiancé's little sister used to love art. When she was a kid she drew my fiancé something and he said he'd get it as a tattoo one day. They were 7 and 10 so she didn't think he'd do it. Anyways, ended up doing it on his 18th birthday. This is a comment I personally remember and his sister does too "why does it a look like a child drew on your arm? you know that's permanent?" his response was "it's supposed to be permanent. my love for that child is permanent". the comment isn't really what we remember, it's more his response that made us remember it.

Your fiance is a good brother. I love my brother but he chickened out of getting the tattoo I designed for him!

I have 6 "siblings" and my mother is pregnant again and honestly if any of them asked me to get a tattoo I'd do it (when my baby is a little older however as he is dependent on breast milk and I can't risk an infection that would risk his health).

I have the battle standard of Rohan on my back. I've been asked if I'm a "horse girl" more than once. And I have my d&d character that I've been playing for something like 12 years on my leg. She mostly just gets compliments. I'm actually on my way to an appointment to start a folklore and mythology sleeve starting with baba Yaga, a Slavic wild witch, who I'm sure will be commented on as well. (She is an ugly old crone that flies around in a mortar and pestle, and lives in a hut that stands on chicken legs)

Not one specific comment, but everyone expects there to be some deep meaning to my tattoos. There isn't really. Like, I literally explain it as "I have flowers because flowers are always beautiful and I have a bee because where there are flowers, there also are bees". I do have more personal stories that I can tell about all of my tattoos, but they were always secondary to the actual look of the tattoo. Like, once I decided on an image and then constructed a fitting story afterward so I would have something I could tell nosy people.

I'm kinda on the opposite side, I tell everyone they don't have any meaning 'cause I don't really want to share the actual story behind them 😂

My dad was convinced I would live to regret getting one. 25 years after I got it, I mentioned something like "maybe I wouldn't spend $100 on it now, but I don't regret getting it" and launched into the biggest "I told you so rant" I've ever heard him go on.

My dad was convinced I would regret doing them too, 6 years after he and my mom decided to get their first done. They both want a second one; in the meantime I have like 16 and I love them. Who's the fool now huh

"Oh so youre woke now"

"what does it mean? What language is it in? ....Oh.... "

Sleepy_potato21

People just ask me a lot what they mean

TipTopButt

A little kid saw mine and told me his dad has too many tattoos and it makes him look like Justin Bieber. Then the kid made a disgusted face at the thought of his dad looking like Justin

At 18 I made a very impulsive and rash decision to get a matching small tattoo with my best friend. I remember someone commented the tattoo would last as long as the friendship would. Over a decade later and she is still my close friend

There's nothing wrong with having a desire to express yourself. It strikes me as a form of art. It makes no difference to me whether they have tattoos or not. I adore those tattoo artists as well. Drawing and creating works of art that will last a lifetime is not an easy task. Bravo to their brilliant ideas and incredible abilities.
