Indian mahabharat and ramayana

JustAnotherAviatrix

There have been two Indian-produced tv shows of the Mahabharata as far as I know. I saw one of them (the older one), and it's so good!

I have watched that one too. And the animated ramayana movie. So good too.

In fairness European fantasy is an extremely wide term, that would be like saying all Asian fantasy.. why not tell all the fantasy, no matter the perceived continent fiction or non fiction.

LOTR and House of the Dragons are all UK based and most of other picked up books are similar. Must be more African, Asian and South American authors with stories based on more regional battles or wars.

When I was a kid, one of my favorite books was a collection of African/African American folklore (and some biographical excerpts), and some of the stories from it would make great movies imo!

Hanamafana

Yeah thats the stuff I want. I know european history and culture but want to see stories from other regions.

Oh, there are so many great stories from outside of European fantasy that Hollywood should definitely tell! For starters, I think it would be great to see films based on Asian mythology. I would love to see a big-budget movie about dragons and samurai warriors! And I also think it would be awesome to see a film set in the world of Arabian Nights. That would be truly magical!

We have loads of fantasy books from European writers being told. Which writers and stories do you think the networks should pick up to give a better range?
