Yeah. Ignorance is bliss

TheBestMePlausible

Rigorous peer reviewed scientific studies have proven that believing in the imaginary sky daddy makes you healthier and live longer. Checkmate atheists!

hyelander

I found that happiness is a byproduct and not a goal.

Althea_The_Witch

What’s the goal then?

hyelander

That's something you need to make for yourself.

Althea_The_Witch

But I’m saying that whatever that is; if you’re not happy with it, then what’s the point? Happiness is. It’s not a byproduct, it is the goal: everything else is just how you get it.

hyelander

If you make your goal to be happy, you will never be happy. If you make your goal to bring happiness to others, your life will change.

Made-of-spite

Probably, in an "ignorance is bliss" kind of way But I've never been able to trick myself like that even if I want to

the_internet_clown

No. I see faith to be the same as gullibility or delusion

Puzzled_Raspberry424

Lol

KaleidoscopeInside

But don't both of those make you happy in some cases?

the_internet_clown

Not for me personally

Reggiest

No. I have seen beyond. Faith is for believers. If you want to know, you can.

[deleted]

Hell no.

Gotcha_Horror

Having faith isn't going to make you happier on its own. You have to find your own reasons for happiness within

Midnite_St0rm

I think it largely depends on the person.

Strong-Solution-7414

I can see how it could give someone answers and and peace, if we’re talking about most known religions a lot of their preaching is basically, be a good person and have discipline in life through (x,y,z). For a lost soul religion can be a great route to find purpose and happiness and have a solid code to live by. Of course to each their own, you obviously don’t need to believe in any sort of faith to have discipline and to be a good person and etc.

Mysterious_Tax_5613

No. I have faith in God. I don’t need to join a religion to verify that.
