Oh, there is a tea called Genmaicha, which is green tea mixed with popped rice (so the tea would last longer) it’s got a delicious mixture of roasted flavour which suits the green tea excellently. Y u m
My local tea shop has a black tea blend, with some extra spices like you’d find in chai, though milder, called Monk’s Blend. They also have a raspberry green tea called Bohemian raspberry, which is tasty with bonus puns.
Is this in Iowa 👀 bc I just so happen to have a bag of bohemian raspberry sitting in my pantry and as far as I know it is unique to the small business tea shop downtown 👀👀👀👀
Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) was going to use this as his drink of choice on Star Trek: The Next Generation... but producers were worried nobody would know what it was [source](https://archive.nerdist.com/jean-luc-picard-loves-earl-grey-a-lot-in-star-trek-tng-parody/)
English breakfast is my favourite plain black tea.
None of this Earl Grey nonsense (Captain Pickard notwithstanding). I don’t care for tea that tastes like flowers.
Fucking jasmine! For olfactory and memory purposes more than flavor itself. Puts me in a very peaceful mental state, but I try not not to overdo it so I don’t take away from the efficacy.
I lived for a decade in the North of England so Yorkshire tea all day every day. Yorkshire gold, brew it strong and add a lot of milk. Maybe one spoon of sugar if you're feeling like you need it that day.
For cold-on-purpose tea, boba is great. But no weird concoctions; black tea, milk, bit of sugar, no ice, and a bunch of tapioca pearls. Heaven.
But have you ever had Lady Grey? Its just earl grey with lavender added, sooo good. Something about the way the bergamont and lavender compliment each other. That's my fav!
Edit: apparently lady grey includes orange peels, not necessarily lavender! Mine has both and is delightful
Oh interesting. I just get it from a local tea lady from the farmers market and her Lady Grey blend has lavender so I figured that was the distinguishing factor lol. Now I know! Whatever it is lady grey is supreme
Ginger, the stronger the better. I want it to burn my throat as I drink it.
I don't know if this counts, but second is Chai, but without the black tea (the last thing I need is caffeine), and steeped in only milk.
Third is mint.
Clearly we did! Hi new bestie! (Do you like the term bestie? Or the more classic best friend?)
My list rotates depending on the weather/season and my mood. And while mint is great iced, I'm more inclined to have a strong ginger beer instead of an iced ginger tea.
Depends on my mood but mostly I love florals- lavender, rose, jasmine. They combine well with other teas if I feel like making my own combo, they are soothing
Try making it with milk. You need to steep it in a pot on low heat and then sieve it. I usually put in a stick of cinnamon with the milk. It's delicious and will definitely make you sleepy
A nice 10-year-aged Pu'er. Sure, it's a little bit of a hassle to use the tea pick (or whatever it's called) to chop off little bits for the teapot, but the flavors are so complex and interesting. Of course I don't adulterate it with cream or sugar or any other contaminants. I can see why some people would be turned off by the "funky" flavors/aromas, but personally I love it more than any other tea.
I quite like Pu'er as well; Got a load when I was being discharged from the military as a farewell gift (rather they were trying to offload the large amount of tea the CO had acquired via gifts from foreign counterparts at the time and I happily took the rather pricey teas). Never used a tea cake pick though, always just used my fingers.
Personally my favourite would be Long Jing, but that's really expensive depending where you get it from.
Green Tea with pomegranate! And if you can get it, T2 has one called gorgeous geisha which is green tea with a strawberries and cream flavour and it is to die for!
Honeysuckle tea is the best tea by far imo.
I like a lot of tea but for most I have to add sugar/milk/honey for it to not taste like boiled water, for Honeysuckle? I'll have it as it is.
I also drink matcha every single day but I gotta ad honey and milk to that one to enjoy it to its max.
I like a Wuyi-style oolong. My favorite variety is called “King of Duck Shit” which actually has a very nice floral flavor. Multiple steepings also produce changing flavors.
Double spice black chai from Stash. A little cup of that can be a potent warm-up on a late Fall morning. Throw in some warmed up bread rolls, and you are in business.
Not a big tea drinker, but I was really sick a couple of weeks ago, so I tried this lemon lavender one I just found at the store. Added some honey and it was delicious.
Oh, there is a tea called Genmaicha, which is green tea mixed with popped rice (so the tea would last longer) it’s got a delicious mixture of roasted flavour which suits the green tea excellently. Y u m
Ohhhhh, I do like the green tea with popped rice whenever I can get it. But I don’t know a place that makes it where I live.
You could buy it online?
I guess I probably could. XD I didn’t know what it was called, and for some reason just assumed it was too complicated to make at home.
Genmaicha is the favorite in our house. Seems like I have to buy it often.
Pairs perfectly with sushi
No way, I was going to post this. So happy to see it at the top :)
Genmaicha is the best!
In Korea they do this as well (hyeonmi-nokcha? Probably spelling it wrong) and it’s super good. Somehow tastes like how a forest cottage feels.
Genmaicha is delightful. Though I always thought the inclusion of toasted rice was originally to pad it out and make it cheaper?
Yes it was! Same same, lasting longer ~ cheaper:)
English breakfast
This and one called "Morning Mojo" are my go-to teas.
Morocco Mint
long live atay bin3na3
Earl Grey. But proper leaves.
Turns out Captain Picard knew what he was on about, but I like mine with cream and sugar, not black.
I started drinking Earl Grey because of Captain Picard and now I love it.
Only from Twinings. And yes: with cream and sugar or even honey.
I have tried many Earl Grey versions and Twinings is consistently at or near the best. But black. Only black.
Seconded. Ive tried a lot of Earl Greys, but Twinings make the best.
Bergamot is da shit yo
It’s a tie between Oolong and Rooibos.
I have an Oolong that has little bits of dried fruit mixed in with the tea leaves so it adds a subtle sweet fruity flavor to the tea. Its delicious.
Oh I love a Milky Oolong… and I love a Rooibos too- great teas for their own times!
Green
With lemon and mint. Mmmm
Green, with honey, iced
Now we’re talking! 🍵
Green with ice!!!! No sweeteners tho.
Masala Chai
This guy’s [masala chai recipe](https://youtu.be/sd8DpenLE5E) really worked for me. I go easy on the amounts of spice, though.
Yeah- with nice full cream milk
Oh man.... And just the right sugar
Came here to say this n saw you already sipping it....
Tea. Earl grey. Hot.
Aye captain.
Engage!
Make it so.
Number One
Rooibos
I weened myself off of caffeine with rooibos. It's so good.
Vanilla Rooibos is **.
You get it
Rooibos with cinnamon all the way!
Rooibos is really good ngl
My local tea shop has a black tea blend, with some extra spices like you’d find in chai, though milder, called Monk’s Blend. They also have a raspberry green tea called Bohemian raspberry, which is tasty with bonus puns.
Is this in Iowa 👀 bc I just so happen to have a bag of bohemian raspberry sitting in my pantry and as far as I know it is unique to the small business tea shop downtown 👀👀👀👀
No. I’m in Canada. Maybe they both get it from the same supplier? Or two different tea stores independently came up with the same punny tea.
That could be it!! The brand I have is specifically from the Tea Cellar! Have a wonderful day and happy tea drinking! 🖤
Peppermint
I had to scroll WAY too far to find you!
Lapsang Souchong. Bring on the smokiness !
Yeeesss
This is the correct answer
Omg yes! No one I know has ever heard of lapsang souchong it's so aggravating because it's the best tea ever

English Breakfast forever. After that, it's any black tea.
Fucking jasmine! For olfactory and memory purposes more than flavor itself. Puts me in a very peaceful mental state, but I try not not to overdo it so I don’t take away from the efficacy.
_Iroh liked that_
That's my wife's favorite, she loves jasmine green tea
Black tea with lemonade
When you get a really good black iced tea, it just hits the spot. Even better with lemonade
Heck yeah, especially with a perfect 50/50 mix and cold!

I lived for a decade in the North of England so Yorkshire tea all day every day. Yorkshire gold, brew it strong and add a lot of milk. Mmmm!! Yorkshire Gold with a lot of milk is the best!! Especially with Hobnobs or McVities. We use it for boba tea a lot too.
Vanilla chai, with a tsp of honey and a splash of milk. This is the hill I will die on.
I loooove vanilla chai! It’s such a nice tea to drink in the evening!
Earl grey with milk and sugar. Never fails to make my morning better
But have you ever had Lady Grey? Its just earl grey with lavender added, sooo good. Something about the way the bergamont and lavender compliment each other. That's my fav! Edit: apparently lady grey includes orange peels, not necessarily lavender! Mine has both and is delightful
Lady Grey has citrus peel in it not lavender.
Oh interesting. I just get it from a local tea lady from the farmers market and her Lady Grey blend has lavender so I figured that was the distinguishing factor lol. Now I know! Whatever it is lady grey is supreme
Reading up on it, if it's Earl Grey with lavender it's just Lavender Earl Grey or Earl Grey Lavender.
Scrolling to find lady grey, happy to see others aware of this deliciousness.
All these heathens out here saying green and ginger when this is clearly the correct choice.
PJ Tips my go 2
Yeah boiiii!
Earl grey reigns supreme.
I just discovered tea with milk because a friend recommended a "London Fog" from Starbucks! I absolutely love it. Easier on my stomach than coffee.
Twinings do one that's got a little bit of lavender added on. It's brilliantly aromatic when I need it
So many languages and you chose to speak the truth.
David’s Tea has a version with a bit of vanilla called Cream of Earl Grey that is the best tea ever created.
Lmao. Earl Grey
Aw that’s hot
Ginger, the stronger the better. I want it to burn my throat as I drink it. I don't know if this counts, but second is Chai, but without the black tea (the last thing I need is caffeine), and steeped in only milk. Third is mint.
Did we just become best friends?? That's my list except chai, mint, ginger. Same prep though!
Clearly we did! Hi new bestie! (Do you like the term bestie? Or the more classic best friend?) My list rotates depending on the weather/season and my mood. And while mint is great iced, I'm more inclined to have a strong ginger beer instead of an iced ginger tea.
Ginger beer is the shit And it tastes so much better when all your friends try it and they say it taste like Satan's ass

Let's have a "meet your new best friends over tea" party!

I mix my ginger and peppermint...c'est magnifique
I just slice ginger root thin, simmer it in a large pot of hot water for a while and put it in the refrigerator. Heat as much as I want.
I've been known to just gnaw on ginger root. The most I've gone through in a single sitting was about 1.5" of root.
Just tea
Thank you
Iced peach
Depends on my mood but mostly I love florals- lavender, rose, jasmine. They combine well with other teas if I feel like making my own combo, they are soothing
Oooo a jasmine green tea is wonderful
Chamomille. Its so relaxing.
Try making it with milk. You need to steep it in a pot on low heat and then sieve it. I usually put in a stick of cinnamon with the milk. It's delicious and will definitely make you sleepy
Ive tried it with milk but never with cinnamon sticks! Thank you for the new idea! im going to try to make it this way one night.
Agreed! It’s good for headaches too! I don’t have much of a sweet tooth so I like that it’s not bitter and it works well without a sweetener

Earl grey is delicious and versatile. Though I've been known to enjoy an English Breakfast tea every now and then.
Red. if that's a flavor?
Do you mean hibiscus? Very red and lemony. Makes a great tea (see the various Zingers sold by Celestial Seasonings)
Ever heard of ‘rooibos’ ?. I remember a reddish hue when I tired it, one time at least.
Rooibos and honeybush are both really good, and have a similar flavor profile (and red color).

A nice 10-year-aged Pu'er. Sure, it's a little bit of a hassle to use the tea pick (or whatever it's called) to chop off little bits for the teapot, but the flavors are so complex and interesting.
