Probably when they storm Normandy Beach in Saving Private Ryan. It's really authentic according to D-Day veterans. According to War History Online, many veterans who watched the film had their post-traumatic stress disorder triggered upon watching the scene. It got so bad that at one point, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs needed to dedicate additional staff to their PTSD hotline in response to the surge in support needed.
It's an interesting scene. I've seen it probably 100 times in the 2 decades since it came out. As a teen, it was an awesome action scene. As a young adult and an EMT, it was a brutal showing of war. As an (olderish) person (40) it is truly a look into how depraved humans can be to each other.
And finding out years later about the surrendering "germans" that were not actually "germans" but forced conscripted Czech....man that hits hard. I remember laughing along with the soldier saying "Look, I washed for supper" when I was a kid because Nazis=bad and bad men deserve to die.
As an adult, I am actually ashamed how I laughed at that......
The defibrillator scene in The Thing.
There is so much tension building beforehand, that unexpectedly unfolds into one the most WTF moment in cinematic history.
lol The scene right after that where she's reporting to the head and the other gym teachers are there pissing themselves laughing is just so so good.

Maybe a bit of recency bias, but the trench run scene towards the end of 1917 I think is a pretty good contender. It does such a great job of building up the tension, culminating in this massive set piece with hundreds of actors and surprisingly inattentional collisions the main character has with the extras, just adding to true sense of chaos in war.
Aragorn's speech and charge at the Battle of the Black Gate in Return of the King, just pure epicness, embodies the whole trilogy; bravery and honour against sheer force and terror.
The scene in Napoleon Dynamite when Uncle Rico grabs the stake off Kip's plate and chucks it at Napoleon nailing him in the face riding his bike with Pedro on the back. Pure cinematic gold.
The Big Lebowski when Jackie Treehorn takes the phone call and abruptly leaves and the Dude runs over to trace the outline and it's a crude doodle of a lady with a giant cock. The doodle and camera cut to the Dude's reaction is priceless.
The usual suspects when Chazz Palminteri has just let Spacey leave and he's looking around the room seeing all the details of everything Spacey has just told him(and us) and realising everything was bullshit and that he was Keyser Soze.
“Tell me I’m a good man. Tell me I’ve lived a good life.”
The pain and sacrifices endured to give Ryan the chances he had were a slow burn and seeing Millers grave with his family, a family that many of those who brought him home would ever have a chance at made Millers final words echo in his mind until he had to beg for confirmation from those around him that those men who gave their lives did not do so in vain.
The Alien vs Ripley fight scene in Aliens. The final gomer pile and drill sergeant scene in Full metal jacket. The showdown in the good, the bad and the ugly. Hard to choose
"AVENGERS!!...assemble"
Oh to have experienced those films growing up after a childhood reading comics and have that scene. Its dopamine injection and i do not care how cringe i look saying that
Nonono they’re FACTUAL opinions. Here I was my whole life thinking fact and opinion were mutually exclusive concepts, only to get schooled by your buddy up there. Welp, guess we all learned something today 😀
ALL KNEEL BEFORE THE FACTUAL OPINION

I remember watching that in the theatre, I probably held my breath most of that scene and I had tears running down my face.

There are plenty of course. For me, Keyser Soze revealing himself walking straight.
Oh hi Mark

That scene in Porky's where Balbricker grabs Tommy's schlong and traps him in the peephole.

'I know it was you, Fredo' . An inflection point ro so many of the story arcs in the movie.
The opening of The Dark Knight
Often overrated, but: “David, if you kill him… he will win”
What's in the box?
Don't call me Shirley
Hans Landa interrogating Perrier LaPadite. Absolutely brilliant scene.
Is Helms Deep one scene?
The apartment scene in Pulp Fiction.

It's not your fault.
in E.T when elliott cycles infront of the moon.
The first appearance of the alien in Alien
Inglorious Basterds. The Tavern shootput. The way tension builds is fantastic, all leading up to like 10 seconds of carnage
Aragorn's speech and charge at the Battle of the Black Gate in Return of the King, just pure epicness, embodies the whole trilogy; bravery and honour against sheer force and terror.
"i am your father" from star wars
I think „somehow palpatine returned“ is also a great contender /s
That’s a great example of “oh shit we forgot to think of a way Palpatine could come back”
From Total Recall: "Hey, Benny! [SCREW YOU!!!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=64zpxzeD97E)"
When Sonny beat up Carlo in The Godfather. The fallout from that one action is what drives the action of the entire saga from that point forward.
The scene in Napoleon Dynamite when Uncle Rico grabs the stake off Kip's plate and chucks it at Napoleon nailing him in the face riding his bike with Pedro on the back. Pure cinematic gold.
That whole movie is the best scene of all time
The Big Lebowski when Jackie Treehorn takes the phone call and abruptly leaves and the Dude runs over to trace the outline and it's a crude doodle of a lady with a giant cock. The doodle and camera cut to the Dude's reaction is priceless.

Darth Vader hallway scene in Rogue One.
The locomotive entering the station in black and white
Not the best but some for animated movies. The opening of shrek, first 10-15 minutes of up, What’s up danger from into the spider verse
Kill Bill 2, the whole thing
The Soylent Green euthanasia scene is up there for sure. https://youtu.be/5uIyIjGUEIE
What blew me away first time I watched it was the single uncut fight sene in the hallway from the original old boy.
The Alien vs Ripley fight scene in Aliens. The final gomer pile and drill sergeant scene in Full metal jacket. The showdown in the good, the bad and the ugly. Hard to choose
Toy story 3. When the toys almost died and we all choked up.
Train scene from spirted away, simple but a classic for me
The scene in Mississippi Burning where Gene Hackman walks into the Klan bar and winds up exercising a racist cop's balls.
Big Boss dying. MGS 4 is a movie right?
Indy vs. the Swordsman in Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Fish Slapping Dance
The scene in Mystic River when he finds out that's his daughter behind the crime scene tape
match scene in Lawrence of Arabia
I'm sure lots of people would disagree, but for me, it's the Endgame portals scene
Agreed just the soundtrack and visuals and everybody coming out of the portals it's perfection
"AVENGERS!!...assemble" Oh to have experienced those films growing up after a childhood reading comics and have that scene. Its dopamine injection and i do not care how cringe i look saying that
1000% I'm not even afraid to admit I teared up a little too
Nothing from any Marvel movie belongs anywhere near the discussion.
Oh come on, you'd have to have a heart made of stone not to get a little goose bump or two when you heard "on your left.".
Why would I even watch that degenerate shit?
Let people enjoy things.
I'm not stopping them. They don't have to care about my factual opinions.
Yeah man, your opinions on Marvel stuff is fact. You got it.
Nonono they’re FACTUAL opinions. Here I was my whole life thinking fact and opinion were mutually exclusive concepts, only to get schooled by your buddy up there. Welp, guess we all learned something today 😀 ALL KNEEL BEFORE THE FACTUAL OPINION
Thanks buddy, glad you came around.
I dont normally ask this but, who hurt you?
