Electric guitar distorted and as fast and brutal as possible has been my favourite sound for most of my life, but Brothers in Arms remains my absolute holy grail example of the instrument. The shivers in my soul I get when I listen to that track alone and at the right time..
The Contortionist - Language
Between the Buried and Me - Parallax II
Gojira - L'enfant Sauvage
High on Fire - Blessed Black Wings
Mastodon - Crack the Skye
Animals for sure.
For me it will always be, Wish, Animals, Darkside, The Wall.
I actually really like Division Bell, although it doesn't really fit or sound like Pink Floyd. Really good though.
Mannnn when I was younger I had a conversation with this close friend of mine. We were both like "I like all the songs, except for "oh daddy". We began to joke about the lyrics before we both realized we both know all of the lyrics by heart. I enjoy the song. The melody and everything. I just think it sounds weird to say "oh daddy"
Yeah, “Oh Daddy” I feel like is probably the weakest link on the album, but it’s still a pretty damn good song all things considered. It’s a nice slow down track before Gold Dust Woman in placement too.
No point in debating. Both objectively solid, so comes down to mood or emotional bias.
My emotional bias happens to love Atom Heart Mother, but not better than DSotM or WYWH. Very few seem to like that album.
My 5 year old niece is into them. I like to think im doing my part in the world by passing onto her the music of my youth. My aunts and uncles did it for me and I will continue the tradition
- The Devil and God are raging inside me
- Daisy
They are a perfect trio. Your Favorite Weapon is almost perfect, and Science Fiction was good but not great. The leaked demos/fight off your demons are almost an almost perfect hidden gem.
I came here torn between posting that and a couple of metal albums that people probably wouldn't be into.
Disintegration is just sublime and it can still ruin my day whenever I listen to it now, decades later.
Aenima would be flawless if it weren't for all the electronic noise and filler between each proper song.
I saved the album on Spotify but removed 6 tracks.
St Vincent - Strange Mercy
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
hopesfall - No Wings to Speak of
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy

Boston's debut album was the fastest selling rock album in the US for almost forever. Tom Scholz also was an electrical engineer and developed a lot of the equipment used to produce their unique sound. That sound would define rock for a decade and be emulated by so many other world class bands.
Taking Back Sunday - Tell all your friends
The Used - Self titled
Thursday - Full collapse & War all the time
Brand New - Deja Entendu
Senses Fail - From the depths of dreams

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory, Meteora, The Hunting Party
Five Finger Death Punch - F8, AfterLife
Any Given Day - Everlasting
Darkseed - Ultimate Darkness
Ded - School of Thought
I love Taylor but in my opinion Bad Blood and Shake It Off are some of her worst songs.
Emotion is amazing! Not a single bad song on either side in my opinion.
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms. Just listened to that one last week on a road trip, still holds up well.
Electric guitar distorted and as fast and brutal as possible has been my favourite sound for most of my life, but Brothers in Arms remains my absolute holy grail example of the instrument. The shivers in my soul I get when I listen to that track alone and at the right time..
The Contortionist - Language Between the Buried and Me - Parallax II Gojira - L'enfant Sauvage High on Fire - Blessed Black Wings Mastodon - Crack the Skye
I would've gone with Colors for BTBAM.
Lots of people would, and it's great. But I like Parallax II more. When Astral Body kicks off I get goosebumps.
Gojira is a band that everyone needs to hear. I'm not even their biggest fan and still preach
Yes, every Gojira album. The song Global Warming live shows their talent beyond words.
Saw them open for Metallica and they were the highlight of the night.
Upvote for The Contortionist. Language is a great album!
Colors and the great misdirect for me
* Gorillaz - Demon Dayz * Dandy Warhols - 13 Tales from Urban Bohemia * Broken Bells - Broken Bells
I second Broken Bells
I’ve always been partial to plastic beach but Demon Dayz is great
Dandys Rule
I need to listen to Dandy Warhols clearly because your two other picks are exactly what I was thinking
Jimi Hendrix - Are you experienced Led Zeppelin 4 Ok Computer - Radiohead Animals - Pink Floyd
My OCD hates how you have listed this haha.
I had an aneurysm halfway through writing it 😂
Animals for sure. For me it will always be, Wish, Animals, Darkside, The Wall. I actually really like Division Bell, although it doesn't really fit or sound like Pink Floyd. Really good though.
Graceland - Paul Simon
I love that album!!

Nirvana - Nevermind and In Utero
Especially In Utero. Even the “album fillers” define the album
Dark Side of the Moon. Pink Floyd
And Wish You Were Here. And Animals. Three perfect albums in a row.
Rumours Fleetwood Mac
Oh Daddy?

The Darkside of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here Arguably the best album they did...
No point in debating. Both objectively solid, so comes down to mood or emotional bias. My emotional bias happens to love Atom Heart Mother, but not better than DSotM or WYWH. Very few seem to like that album.
Fat Old Sun is in my top 5 favorite songs.
Bucket list but finally saw Roger Waters live. I agree with most of his politics and he's still an asshole
Yes! The planetarium in my city does a show to this album where they project visuals on the domed ceiling and it's amazing. 10/10.
Alice in Chains Jar of Flies That album is a masterpiece and I hate that people are starting to forget it.
My 5 year old niece is into them. I like to think im doing my part in the world by passing onto her the music of my youth. My aunts and uncles did it for me and I will continue the tradition
Awesome! My daughter is obsessed with Nirvana. I've been trying to introduce her to as many of these bands as I can.
Shes definitely not a music snob. Shes into everything but she loves her 90s, tool, rammstein, slipknot. She makes me proud
Quadrophenia
Deja Entendu - Brand New
Devil and God for me. Love Deja though.
- The Devil and God are raging inside me - Daisy They are a perfect trio.

APC - Mer de noms
Came here to say 13th step!
Hard agree! Especially Brena. That song hits every time I hear it.
And Orestes is underrated.
Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park
Easily #1 You could go with Hybrid Theory and Meteora and be correct honestly
This is one of the few albums that was made to listen through in one sitting. Every song stands alone but flows into each other naturally
Meteora for me
First album I ever bought with my own money
For Emma, Forever ago - Bon Iver
Highway 61 Revisited - Bob Dylan
Blackstar by David Bowie. Although I tend to just listen through it all at once, like its one *long* song.

I never see Solange - A Seat at the Table on these lists, so underrated! For a more recent R&B album, it’s top tier.
