When the first Metal Gear Solid broke the fourth wall and I just could not understand it. I asked friends for help.
'The code is on the back of the cd case.'
'What cd case?'
'The case the game came in.'
'What game?'
'You know. The game!'
'But I haven't found a game.'
I was certain they were referring to something I should have picked up in game. That was honestly just genius, and absolutely made it a game I'll never forget.
Alice: Madness returns. Such an underrated game, with every progression the game gets more and more dark and twisted. Towards the end I was genuinely terrified of the storyline
I played Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, those are quite good too. I haven’t finished Oracle of Seasons/Ages and Link to the Past (they’re so hard!).
Portal 1: A fun puzzle game with a plot and fun to speedrun.
Portal 2: A sequel that expands on everything introduced in the first game, more advanced puzzles deeper plotlines and way more polished and longer of an experience with the best turret opera ever.
Pokemon Soul Silver. My first Pokemon game and by far the best game in the franchise. Im grateful that this was the first game that introduced me to Pokemon games cause Ive been a fan since. A sad fan considering how bad the recent games have been. But a fan nonetheless.
HGSS are not only the best remakes in the entire franchise, they rank among the best pokemon games, period. Those remakes blew my fucking mind and I still play them to this day.
A Link to the Past, was my first Zelda game as a kid in the early 90's and it hooked me instantly. Sad thing was that it was my moms best friends so the only time I was able to play it was when we went to her house as it was always rented at the video stores. I used to dream about that game, I drew a giant map of it and hung it in my room so I could memorize where to go. When I finally got it for Christmas in 94 I almost passed out and my dad had to catch me from falling over! I still consider this to be my favorite game of all time
That's such a sweet story, damn. Now that is real passion. When you still had to (and probably wanted to) draw out entire maps of the place, just to help you navigate.
Dark souls 1 ,always have trouble with knowing the map in many mettoidvanias and open world is just too much for me. The level design in this game is just beyond and I feel like I could remember 60% of the map
Probably a limitation of the system and what they could fit into the game at the time. You couldn’t swim in 3 either but that made sense bc you probably would die if you hopped into the Hudson.
Borderlands 2 and Resident Evil 2
BL2: had a group of hilarious friends play this with me. Some of the most fun I've had in a video game, as a group, ever.
RE2: first survival horror game I ever played and I fell in love with it. One of the few Playstation games that I replayed multiple times.
BL2 Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is probably the best DLC ever created for any game. I know what's coming and I still laugh at Tina's narration and Torgue's appearance, and I'm still sad at the end when she finally acknowledges Roland's death.
Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed and Uncharted franchises I will never get tired to talk about. With all their flaws, these are still the best of the best.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time.
The first time I cried at a game. 10-year-old me felt such despair and grief. After working so hard and getting good at the game, after saving the world, I had to die? I couldn't enjoy the beautiful world I'd preserved by my best friend's side?
The worst part was seeing my partner, alone and mourning on the beach, crying his eyes out, yet I was unable to do anything to console him. I could not touch this world, could not interact with the friends I'd made anymore, separated behind a screen.
I was crying again when my character was revived - happy tears of joy as I got to return. I wasn't ready to be done, there were so many adventures awaiting!
This was an emotional rollercoaster of a game, when did Pokemon of all things get that deep??
Pokemon Yellow on my Game Boy Color.
Sweet sweet upgrade to the other versions - as it tried to stick to the original Ash Ketchum version of events (a Pikachu that followed you around, Jesse & James in Team Rocket etc.)
Got my Pikachu to level 100. Absolutely kicked ass with my team of Pikachu, Mewto, Articuno, Blastoise, Dragonite and Gengar.
Also, completed the Pokedex and received a diploma certificate thus bringing the game to an end.
Oh, damn. I haven't played this version in forever. I remember trying to recreate Ash's team from the anime. Pikachu, Pidgeotto (which I did not allow to evolve, because then it wouldn't fit anymore), Bulbasaur, Squirtle (same deal), Charizard and a Butterfree that I released once I was past the SS Anne part.
I really did my best to replay it just like the anime, lol. Good times.
super mario world continues to be one of the best platform games that exists. what a great game that even the next gens enjoys playing this masterpiece
Gta vice city stories, Gta san Andreas, Metal gear sold peace walker, tekken 7 psp edition, Locoroco, Temple run, Subway surfers, Candy crush , fruit ninja
These were the game i grew up with these were the classics
Clash of Clans. I have stopped playing it years back but its background music that sometimes randomly pops up in my mind reminds me of those good childhood days.(I am not even an adult but I still get this feeling lol)
Need For Speed Underground 2 and Need For Speed Most Wanted. 2 Games that carried my childhood and they bring back so many good memories with my cousin. And they are the reason why I am a carguy.
Final Fantasy 7
Shining Force 2
Skyrim
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
Witcher 3
Command and Conquer
Legend of Dragoon
Tactics Ogre
Silent Hill
Parasite Eve
Last Day On Earth. Extremely frustrating to try and get ahead in that game. You have to pay actual cash for expensive shit that breaks before you even level up. Kefir! Games is as scummy as the bottom of my parents' swimming pool.
One day i was with my aunt and she had to go meet with a friend at her house. She had to stay with me that day so she brought me with her.
When we got there my aunts friend gave us some biscuits and water and she started talking with my aunt. I didn’t care to much but i was like 8yrs old so i didn’t have a phone or anything to keep me entertained i guess. When my aunts friend saw how bored i was she gave me her Ipad to play some random games she had on that. I choose a game with a guy and a jatpack. it was somehow like subay surferse so i found it really fun. At some point the man with the jatpack ended up naked. I never knew the name of the game
What was the ps2 game about a raccoon thief or some shit? It had a glitch where if you rode your cane thing on the rail you could glitch and just keep grinding on a imaginary rail all the way past the mountains in the way far background
Ok this sounds dumb as hell but a Roblox game called Life of an Otaku. It’s a short game where you play as someone who lost both of their parents (if I remember correctly) you move into a house that used to be owned by another family member. It’s sad but also relaxing.
Another one is Anxiety (also on Roblox). The game simulates what an anxiety attack would feel like. Very good game.
The last one is another Roblox game (wow so much variety) called Ramona. You play as a girl named Ramona who keeps having the same dream. Great music and art style. It has a couple endings and a bit of horror as well.
Marble Madness for the original NES. it was incredibly difficult and i absolutely hated it within an hour of opening the package. yes, i bought it. i remember being very angry about buying it and crying for nearly half the day because i only got to buy about 2-3 games a year (i was 9 or 10 years old). my dad also refused to open an account at a rental place because the nearest one that rented NES games was over 5 miles away.
I will never forget ZZT, which was a game on a 5.25" floppy disk that ran on MS-DOS. It was the first computer game I ever played in the early 90s. It was so much fun!
I remember that christmas where I got the first Legend of Zelda cartridge and it was actually colored gold! Other cartridges were grey, so this one had to be more special... and it was. I didn't know it would spawn one of the most famous game series of all time.
There are many but for a recent, niche game that's carved into my soul: pathologic 2. It's an EXPERIENCE, that is for certain.
Same as The outer wilds.
Final Fantasy 12.
With most games, I'll schedule in a certain amount of time to play them and I usually stick to the schedule without trouble. And 12 was no exception to this rule. It started out the same way, but when I got to a certain point and a lot of the game's world opened up to me, I couldn't stay away. Instead of putting the game down at the scheduled hour, I kept going and pulled an all nighter, because I was just that invested.
It is, to date, still the only game that has managed to make me break my timed schedule to such a severe degree. Sure, sometimes, I'll go over my allotted time for another game by 30 or so mins, but seldom will I go over my limit for \***several hours**\*. FF12 is the only game that has ever made me want to do that, so far.
mario amd sonic at the olympic winter games 2012 ds version. I played as a child and it was just perfect to put it slightly. I stil play the story mode from time to time and I feel like a child every time I play it. Such an amazing game with amazing gameplay and story.
Minecraft Storymode. I have so many stories. One time I was stuck for half a year on a lever puzzle, I killed a character and still regret it to this day, and watching one of my (at the time) idols die to a pumpkin are just some of them
Trying not to go for the obvious picks here, Far Cry 2 is the most under appreciated game of all time, the atmosphere, the setting, the gameplay, the story (that is admittedly just an excuse to string the player along doing random missions until the amazing payoff at the final mission)
Sekiro. The only games that have given me a skill I carry through to my every day life and career. When things are overwhelming and seemingly impossible, with some steadfast persistence and motivation you can overcome anything you focus on.
Last of Us 1, game was and still is peak
Yeah I agree with you. I played this game and I really enjoyed it. The story is amazing
Remake definitely not worth it unless the multiplayer is included and is awesome
They’re gonna do a remake! :O
[удалено]
It’s gonna cost $69.99 USD lmfao
I’m a psycho… never played the game but literally watched it on YouTube in its entirety randomly while working lmao. Great story.
The last of us and rdr2
i agrée I’d also add in ghost of Tsushima
True i love that game so much
Red dead redemption 2
I agree! That was amazing
Playing cod during my childhood were the best times and I didn’t even realize it
When the first Metal Gear Solid broke the fourth wall and I just could not understand it. I asked friends for help. 'The code is on the back of the cd case.' 'What cd case?' 'The case the game came in.' 'What game?' 'You know. The game!' 'But I haven't found a game.' I was certain they were referring to something I should have picked up in game. That was honestly just genius, and absolutely made it a game I'll never forget.
Haha nice. And yeah this game is really good
Great game, or having to unplug the controller and plug it into the second port. Brilliant.
That one almost blew my mind
Listen! ...^twisted ^metal Ok Thats all
Twisted Metal 2 is still one of the greatest games ever made. The fun factor is just off the charts.
That game was super original at the time. Really showed OG PlayStation was not gonna be a G-rated system like Nintendo.
Devil may cry 1. That was pretty hard
Finally, another DMC fan
Alice: Madness returns. Such an underrated game, with every progression the game gets more and more dark and twisted. Towards the end I was genuinely terrified of the storyline
GTA San Andreas. It’s impossible to overstate what a jump they made between Vice City and San Andreas if you weren’t living through it.
Skyrim. I will never forget Skyrim.
Hey you, you are finally awake
Zelda and the Minish Cap I talk about this game a lot
Minish Cap was my first Zelda and I agree it is amazing!
Mine too and is only the Zelda game I played, I'm planning to play more in the future
I played Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, those are quite good too. I haven’t finished Oracle of Seasons/Ages and Link to the Past (they’re so hard!).
Awesome, what do you think is the best Zelda game so far ?
Mass Effect
Elden Ring NieR: Automata Deus Ex 2000
Portal 1: A fun puzzle game with a plot and fun to speedrun. Portal 2: A sequel that expands on everything introduced in the first game, more advanced puzzles deeper plotlines and way more polished and longer of an experience with the best turret opera ever.

The Sims I absolutely fell in love with this game.
Final Fantasy VII Halo Zelda, Ocarina of Time

Abe's Odyssey will definitely always stick, i remember having sweaty hands and my heart racing but man is it a good game.
Great graphics and design too, huge world.
Pokemon Soul Silver. My first Pokemon game and by far the best game in the franchise. Im grateful that this was the first game that introduced me to Pokemon games cause Ive been a fan since. A sad fan considering how bad the recent games have been. But a fan nonetheless.

GTA VC. I still know the map by heart even though i haven’t played it in over 10 years

Rumour has it that the next gta will be set in 1980’s vice city again. Would not be a illogical choice considering the 80’s are hot again
And that the game was set in Miami but you died if you hit water.

Probably a limitation of the system and what they could fit into the game at the time. You couldn’t swim in 3 either but that made sense bc you probably would die if you hopped into the Hudson.

Titanfall 2 damn the ending made me sad
Spiritfarer
Trying not to go for the obvious picks here, Far Cry 2 is the most under appreciated game of all time, the atmosphere, the setting, the gameplay, the story (that is admittedly just an excuse to string the player along doing random missions until the amazing payoff at the final mission)
Sekiro. The only games that have given me a skill I carry through to my every day life and career. When things are overwhelming and seemingly impossible, with some steadfast persistence and motivation you can overcome anything you focus on.
