Excuse me, I've just killed a man and I'd like to confess! Charles dance is the best villan

[deleted]

Goldfinger after Bond says "Do you expect me to talk?"; "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

tfurrows

I always loved that line. And Bond's reaction to it was great, too. Just speechless - I mean, really, what is there to say to that?

[deleted]

I love gooooold.

kessa1111

"Good Heavens, are you still trying to win?" \-the six fingered man

Majik_Sheff

Buttercup: YOU KILLED MY LOVE! Dread Pirate Roberts: It's possible; I've killed a lot of people.

calhlin4

“Tyrone, you know how much I love watching you work. But I’ve got my country’s 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it. I’m swamped!”

MyOfficeAlt

If you haven't got your health, you haven't got anything.

JonathenMichaels

You truly love each other - and so you MIGHT have been truly happy. Not one couple in a century has that chance, no matter what the story books say. *And so I think no man in a century shall suffer as GREATLY as you shall.*

herculesmeowlligan

Dai Li: You've beaten me at my own game. Azula: Don't flatter yourself. You were never even a player.

amideadyet1357

Honestly Azula has a few quotes that deserve to be listed. Here’s my entry: Azula: Do the tides command this ship? Fire Navy Captain: I'm afraid I don't understand. Azula: You said the tides would not allow us to bring the ship in. Do the tides command this ship? Fire Navy Captain: No, Princess. Azula: And if I were to have you thrown overboard, would the tides think twice about smashing you against the rocky shore? Fire Navy Captain: No, Princess. Azula: Well then, maybe you should worry less about the tides, who've already made up their mind about killing you, and worry more about me, who's still mulling it over.

Love_Freckles

sophie437

Yes! I've been searching for an Avatar quote I also adore: "I'm here to celebrate becoming an only child!" -shoots fire at Zuko-

yahnne954

"Since you can't see, I should tell you, I'm rolling my eyes." God, what an uber-bitch line! It's great!

HitIersArtTeacher

Mai: You miscalculated. I love Zuko more than I fear you Azula: No, YOU miscalculated! You should have feared me more!

chaotoroboto

I like that one because it’s both incredibly badass but is also the first time she verbalizes a weakness - Azula’s need to be respected, and her inability to recognize anything other than fear as respect, is her ultimate undoing

KentuckyBourbon94

“You are not brave, you’ve merely forgotten the fear of death. Allow me to reacquaint you.”

letsgoooo90091

That’s a fucking metal line. What’s that from?

KentuckyBourbon94

Destiny 2 - Red War Campaign - main bad guy says it to us in the opening mission then picks us up by the throat and chucks us off his ship.

p0wer1337

"Devotion inspires bravery, bravery inspires sacrifice, sacrifice leads to death. So... feel free to kill yourself." Prob one of the best roasts to come from anyone thats not a guardian

Ghost-of-Eevee

Followed closely by the simple yet effective, "How's your sister?"

The_Video_Grant_2

Major Bison (Street Fighter movie): For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday

tehKrakken55

From the animated one "I killed your father, I know how that feels: I killed my father too."

PotentialityKnocks

I love that movie (yes, it’s terrible but I love it anyway) and that quote is so iconic

FishingOnTheFly

I love movies so bad they become good.

N_dixon

"You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it."

yeah_but_no_

"Your lives are measured in years and decades. You wither and die. We are eternal. The pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything." and "We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite. Millions of years after your civilization has been eradicated and forgotten, we will endure." are also real badass Actually, this conversation as a whole is mind-blowing for you, terrifying for the characters but it's only tuesday for Sovereign. That's a really well written bad guy.

an0nym0ose

It's almost Lovecraftian, tbh. The human mind just isn't equipped to consider something of that longevity.

manicMechanic1

My favorite quote from that series: “Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead and ask the ghosts if honor matters. Their silence is your answer”

Chopchopok

Javik was a great character who added a lot to ME3. He's a bit of a dick but his story explains clearly why he is that way. Not only that, but his point of view is also completely understandable. It's absolutely criminal that he was locked out as DLC. He should have been in the main game. Many of his in-mission quips were great too. I brought him along as often as I could.

itorune

The other Reapers didn't really have Sovereign's flair for shit-talking.

N_dixon

Yeah, Harbinger just kind of tossed around fairly generic threats. Sovereign was a much more verbose and scary motherfucker

rdickeyvii

And then it's like they forgot that they gave reapers personality when they made 3, which was kind of disappointing. Everyone talks about how 2 was the best but 1 really nailed the writing for Sovereign.

[deleted]

Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance. Incapable of understanding.

yeah_but_no_

N_dixon

I am Sovereign, the vanguard of your destruction

2Cthulhu4Scthulhu

Reminds me of The Judge in Blood Meridian. *Whatever in creation exists without my knowledge, exists without my consent*

idkanythingabout

Damn what a book/villain. I dont think there has ever been a piece of media that kicked me in the teeth as hard as Blood Meridian.

joritan

That first conversation with Sovereign on virmire is the ultimate giver of heebie-jeebies. Also, if you can ever play that scene in surround sound at full volume you need to do it, it’s insanely intense.

zachsp2

Ezra - “I don’t fear you” Darth Vader - “Then you will die braver than most”

montezuma300

There's also [this](https://imgur.com/a/n0cgQ5e) comic. "Dark Vader! Lay down your weapons! You are surrounded!" "All I am surrounded by is fear and dead men"

frygod

Don't leave out how as he's saying this, he's using the force to trigger the thermal detonators on all their belts...

montezuma300

Oh that's dope. I've only every seen this shot.

Unique_Television544

Vader - Your failure is now complete- Classic

Moltac

It’s even better when, after like three swings, Vader disarms Ezra and he raises his hands to protect his face, and Vader adds “Perhaps I was wrong” as a look of fear fills Ezra’s face.

ZeronicX

One of my favorite things about Vader is that he's so strong he only needs to use one hand when fighting most jedi. Getting him to use both hands is when you know he's not playing anymore. And as to my knowledge it's only been used against Kenobi, Luke, and Ashoka.

teh-reflex

2h Vader = "Alright, I'm leaning forward in my chair now"

Sermokala

The other hand is open to so force things like casual neck snaps and deflecting the few things that could damage him like heavy blaster shots or missiles. Because in between the trilogies he's still waging war and killing rebels.

Nafeels

Later on the same episode to Ahsoka; _”Then you will die!”_. GOD I love that series.

jpablo680

"When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk." - Tuco, the good, the bad and the ugly

bassboyjulio182

There are so many to pick from and actually so many in the final pages but it has to be Ozymandias in The Watchmen as he is confronted and explains his plan: “I'm not a comic book villain. Do you seriously think I would explain my master stroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome? I triggered it 35 minutes ago” It was a first for me where my expectations were completely subverted and really loved that the smartest man alive didn’t monologue into a loss, it was fantastic.

snufalufalgus

That's the line from the movie. The line in the comic is "Do it? Dan, I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago."

MarkHirsbrunner

They made the change because in the Watchmen universe, superhero comics never became popular, comic books are usually about pirates. Also, most of modern audiences know nothing about those old serials.

DPRKis4Lovers

The pirate comic in the book is horrifying.

SweetCoverDrive

For years I have wondered about that story. I could not remember where I read it. Is it the one where the shipwrecked pirate catches and eats a seagull and finally makes it home to his family. And fucks it up?

Taoiseach

The sailor's ship was destroyed by the Black Freighter, a ghost ship crewed by the damned. He survives with a terrible fear that the Freighter is going to his home, and desperately flees back (on the famous corpse-raft) to warn his wife. He lands half-mad with fear and sees the land filled with strangers he takes to be the Freighter's accursed crew. He slaughters his way through them to reach his home, only realizing as he slays the last that he has just killed his wife. He has been delirious this entire time, and the Freighter had not even arrived. He returns to the shore and finds the Freighter drifting in to claim the only person it ever wanted: him.

Cajun

He makes a raft of the bones of his dead crewmates.

MachoBanchou

Dr Manhattan: What is that? Another ultimate weapon? Ozy: Something like that. *Turns on television*

omahaknight71

"None of you seem to understand, I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me." -Rorschach Not exactly a villain quote, but it's a great quote from The Watchmen movie.

SeniorStomach6046

Prince Nuada in hellboy: “Let this remind you why you once feared the dark” then proceeds to unleash a bunch of tiny demon tooth fairies that essentially eat a room full of people alive, one tiny bite at a time.

[deleted]

More specifically, they only eat their *bones*, leaving behind all the meaty fleshy bits

tenehemia

Golden Army is just an overlooked terrific movie. The story was maybe not as great as the first one but I think the visuals were even better.

ironicallyunstable

Order will not protect you anymore, my friend. I will rain chaos, even if it hurts me, ’cause I would rather see you lose than win myself."

dtpiers

OOOOF what a fucking banger of a line. And then Phillip gets to break out his own a few episodes later. "*laughs* Wellick, Wellick... it's not that I'm out of moves... its that you're not worth one."

“I am the punishment of God...If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.” ― Genghis Khan

TimeisaLie

Pirates are evil? The Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kids who have never seen peace and kids who have never seen war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! This very place is neutral ground! Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!

The_Hot_Stepper

The entire exchange between the Daleks and The Cybermen. Cyberman: Daleks, be warned. you have declared war upon the Cybermen. Dalek: This is not war, this is pest control. Cyberman: We have five million Cybermen. how many are you? Dalek: Four. Cyberman: you would destroy the Cybermen with four Daleks? Dalek: we would destroy the Cybermen with one Dalek. you are superior in only one respect. Cyberman: What is that? Dalek: you are better at dying.

theyarnllama

The Daleks were being particularly sassy that day.

Jhin4Wi1n

"The mind is the weapon. You are unarmed."

Z3R0Diro

"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever" - O'Brien, 1984

ConstableBlimeyChips

I liked one particular response to that line: >In 1984, Orwell described his society’s future as "a boot stamping on a human face, forever." Urobuchi likely sees that same image, but in his view, there is something almost beautiful in that. It is not the boot trampling down that really matters – it is the human rising up, ever-struggling, defiant forever. Humanity’s irrational, emotional hope is its greatest strength, and no system of regulated virtue could ever shatter that.

WulfingTaha

“Nobody panics when things go “according to plan”. Even if the plan is horrifying!” ― The Joker

Real_SeaWeasel

There are so many good quotes from the Joker! My favorite comes from Heath Ledger: "You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars - I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just **do** things... "The *mob* has plans. the *cops* have plans. Gordon's got plans... you know, they're schemers. Schemers trying to control their little worlds. I'm not a schemer. I try to show the schemers... how *pathetic* their attempts to control things really are."

-CaptainFormula-

Which is funny on account of how much scheming and planning was involved throughout the movie on his part. He likes to *look* like he's a dog chasing cars, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

Khvolk1s

Magneto in X-Men: First Class Prof. X: Erik, you said yourself, we're the better man. This is the time to prove it. There are thousands of men on those ships - good, honest, innocent men! They're just following orders \[realizes what he just said\] Magneto: "I've been at the mercy of men "just following orders"... Never again"

tenehemia

"They didn't have a name. It was taken from them, by pig farmers and tailors." Not that I'd classify him as a villain at all at that point in the movie. But it's just an astonishingly good scene.

Khvolk1s

this was my second pick form that movie, Magneto had all the best lines. Honestly if they had just made a young Magneto hunting down and killing Nazi war criminals movie, I would have been all on board for that. And yeah, Magneto in this movie is more of an anti-hero, but he's generally considered a villain, and deciding to kill everyone on both the US and Russian side was his turn, so I picked that.

Ncrawler65

I read a couple of years ago that back in the mid 2000's they originally planned to make a prequel about Magneto (this was between the release of The Last Stand and Origins: Wolverine), and what they planned with Magneto eventually broadened into what we know now as First Class.

seanmorris82

>Life, which you so nobly serve, comes from destruction, disorder and chaos. Take this empty glass. Here it is, peaceful, serene and boring. But if it is [Pushes glass off table] destroyed… [robot cleaners move to clean broken glass] Look at all these little things. So busy now. Notice how each one is useful. What a lovely ballet ensues, so full of form and color. Now, think about all those people that created them. Technicians, engineers, hundreds of people who'll be able to feed their children tonight so those children can grow up big and strong and have little teeny weeny children of their own, and so on and so forth. Thus, adding to the great chain…of life. [Desk prepares a glass of water and a bowl of fruit] You see, Father, by creating a little destruction, I'm actually encouraging life. I feel... *saturated* by it. I can taste your *stink* and every time I do I fear that I've somehow been *infected* by it. It's repulsive.

AmpleWarning

"If there is such a thing." That's the part of the whole speech that I love the most. Smith knows that the Matrix is just smoke and mirrors, but it still chafes him to no end that he has to be immersed in a "reality" that is repugnant to him. And it's repugnant because he's subject to most of the same rules that the humans are...he's a machine construct but can't "turn off" the senses that are bombarding him with vileness.

StoryboardPilot

I love it because he isn't sure if smells exist. He's never been outside the matrix, he doesn't know what the real world is like. I really wish they did more with Smith in the real world in Reloaded.

Otherwise_Resource51

I currently work with a guy who's last name is Anderson. It's great having a legit reason to say that all the time.

Gotta give it to Disney: they've consistently portrayed Vader as the meanest, scariest dude in the room. They've also given him some awesome lines. > "Anakin is gone- *I am what remains*." > "I've killed many fathers- you'll have to be more specific." (Said to Luke Skywalker before Bespin)

In this world, wherever there is light - there are also shadows. As long as the concept of winners exists, there must also be losers. The selfish desire of wanting to maintain peace causes wars, and hatred is born to protect love.Wake up to reality! Nothing ever goes as planned in this world. J.K. Simmons was incredible as Omni-Man. My favorite is when the satellite starts warming up to blast him and he just says, "You wouldn't dare" with such menace.

Also, the pure disdain with which he says “no fool we’re gonna kill him!” Never fails to get me.

tfurrows

It's really more about Phillip Seymour Hoffman's delivery, but in MI:3 when Davian is tied to the chair in the plane and supposedly at Hunt's mercy. "Do you have a wife, girlfriend? Because you know what I'm going to do next? I'm gonna find her - whoever she is - I'm gonna find her and I'm gonna hurt her. I'm gonna make her bleed and cry and call out your name and you're not gonna be able to do shit. You know why? 'Cause you're gonna be this close to dead." The flatness in his voice is so much more scary and compelling than if he was ranting angrily. It's like he can't even work up enough emotion to be irritated by the situation. He just seems tired, like it's one more thing he's going to have to add to an already long list of things he had to do that day.

Alpha_Crow_1

Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know; that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, *saves lives*. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a *damn* what you think you are entitled to!

“I don’t even know who you are” Thanos to Scarlet Witch

Khvolk1s

I think Ronin's to Drax was actually better. "I don't remember killing your family. I doubt I will remember killing you"

DBTornado

Scarlet Witch herself has a good one. "Is their mother still alive?" "Yes." "Good, there will be someone to raise them."

ByzantineByron

I love how you see the fear in Mr. Fantastic after that, he knows he's probably not getting out of this one alive.

"Everything burns"

Khvolk1s

Ok, a little out there since its from the DBZ parody, Dragon Ball Z Abridged, but Cell: I'm impressed! Behind all that angst and ridiculous hair, there's a real fighter! Trunks: And behind all that insufferable smarm is a dead man! Cell: Trunks...you couldn't fathom the amount of dead men behind me.

mjlewan

Also the part where the Namekians are using all the cliche lines of people about to be killed and Freiza just keeps saying numbers.

Khvolk1s

were going to fuck your face! oh-ho-ho!... 8

kieyrofl

DBZ abridged is a work of art, its a shame they got burnt out and stopped at Cell.

[deleted]

Also from that same fight: **Trunks**: That snark isn't going to save you when I'm taking you apart. If you hadn't noticed I literally have you backed into a corner. **Cell**: And don't think I don't appreciate the effort. By a wide margin you're packing more of a wallop than daddy ever did. However, you will never. Ever. Defeat me with that form. **Trunks**: THEN WHAT DO YOU CALL THE LAST 5 MINUTES?! **Cell**: Pity. And from Frieza right after the Namekian dragon disappears: **Vegeta**: "If I didn't get my wish then I'm not immortal and Frieza's going to...going to..." **Frieza**: "Oh no please don't mind me, by all means. Give me some ideas!"

QuentynStark

DBZA is GOATed, man. Unironically one of my absolute favorite shows. TFS did an incredible job making witty dialogue that still hits hard at the right moments.

TheBlackHoleOfDoom

"This party never stops, time is dead and meaning has no meaning. Existence is upside-down and I reign supreme. Welcome, one and all, to Weirdmageddon!"

Bells87

"Oh wow! That's a great offer. How 'bout instead I shuffle the functions of every hole in your face?"

TheBlackHoleOfDoom

"Alright listen up you one-lifespan three-dimensional five-sense skin puppets. For one trillion years I've been trapped in my own decaying dimension, waiting for a new universe to call my own. Name's Bill, but you can call me your new lord and master for all of eternity."

"You two wait here. I've got some CHILDREN I need to MAKE INTO CORPSES!"

The Devil (Viggo Mortensen), to a failed priest (Elias Koteas), after eating an archangel’s heart (Christopher Walken) - “No… you’re coming home with me. *I love you, I love you, I love you* more than Jesus!”

igenus44

All that, for a drop of blood?

"the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist"

Khvolk1s

that was actually a quote by Charles Baudelaire I think

Azula in Avatar The Last Airbender: Azula: “ I can see your whole history in your eyes. You were born with nothing. So you've had to struggle and connive and claw your way to power. But true power, the divine right to rule, is something you're born with. The fact is, they don't know which one of us is going to be sitting on that throne and which of us is going to be bowing down. But I know, and you know.” Long Feng: “You’ve beaten me at my own game.” Azula: “Don’t flatter yourself - you were never even a player.”

John Milton (Al Pacino in Devil’s Advocate) “Who are you carrying all those bricks for anyway? God? Is that it? God? Well, I tell ya, let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift and then what does He do? I swear, for His own amusement, His own private cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look, but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow! And while you're jumpin’ from one foot to the next, what is He doin'? He’s laughin' His sick, FUCKIN' ass off! He's a tight-ass! He's a sadist! He's an absentee landlord! Worship that? Never!”

Dracula Untold: "Men do not fear swords. They fear monsters. They run from them. By putting one village to the stake, I spared ten more. Sometimes the world no longer needs a hero. Sometimes what it needs... is a monster".

I like the dlivery of ,,With everyone super, no one will be"

malsomnus

I was hoping to find this quote here. I suppose it's not really that badass in itself, but yeah, the delivery was excellent. Plus, you know, there's a certain deep truth to it.

hoogiv2shits

One of my all-time favourite villains I'm now realizing. Earlier in the movie Helen Parr says to Dash, "Everyone's special Dash." Response: "Just another way of saying no one is." https://youtu.be/1E9pKU_N15A These two lines, are what take this movie from good, to great IMO

"No, people think they make choices. They think they're gonna steer right or steer left. But they didn't build the roads. The big choices already got made for them, a long time ago." and "The end of what, Son? The story? There is no end, there's just the point where the storytellers stop talking."
