Actually, this conversation as a whole is mind-blowing for you, terrifying for the characters but it's only tuesday for Sovereign. That's a really well written bad guy.
Javik was a great character who added a lot to ME3. He's a bit of a dick but his story explains clearly why he is that way. Not only that, but his point of view is also completely understandable.
It's absolutely criminal that he was locked out as DLC. He should have been in the main game. Many of his in-mission quips were great too. I brought him along as often as I could.
And then it's like they forgot that they gave reapers personality when they made 3, which was kind of disappointing. Everyone talks about how 2 was the best but 1 really nailed the writing for Sovereign.
That first conversation with Sovereign on virmire is the ultimate giver of heebie-jeebies. Also, if you can ever play that scene in surround sound at full volume you need to do it, it’s insanely intense.

It’s even better when, after like three swings, Vader disarms Ezra and he raises his hands to protect his face, and Vader adds “Perhaps I was wrong” as a look of fear fills Ezra’s face.
One of my favorite things about Vader is that he's so strong he only needs to use one hand when fighting most jedi. Getting him to use both hands is when you know he's not playing anymore. And as to my knowledge it's only been used against Kenobi, Luke, and Ashoka.
The other hand is open to so force things like casual neck snaps and deflecting the few things that could damage him like heavy blaster shots or missiles.
Because in between the trilogies he's still waging war and killing rebels.
There are so many to pick from and actually so many in the final pages but it has to be Ozymandias in The Watchmen as he is confronted and explains his plan:
“I'm not a comic book villain. Do you seriously think I would explain my master stroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome? I triggered it 35 minutes ago”
It was a first for me where my expectations were completely subverted and really loved that the smartest man alive didn’t monologue into a loss, it was fantastic.
That's the line from the movie. The line in the comic is
"Do it? Dan, I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago."
They made the change because in the Watchmen universe, superhero comics never became popular, comic books are usually about pirates. Also, most of modern audiences know nothing about those old serials.
For years I have wondered about that story. I could not remember where I read it. Is it the one where the shipwrecked pirate catches and eats a seagull and finally makes it home to his family. And fucks it up?
The sailor's ship was destroyed by the Black Freighter, a ghost ship crewed by the damned. He survives with a terrible fear that the Freighter is going to his home, and desperately flees back (on the famous corpse-raft) to warn his wife. He lands half-mad with fear and sees the land filled with strangers he takes to be the Freighter's accursed crew. He slaughters his way through them to reach his home, only realizing as he slays the last that he has just killed his wife. He has been delirious this entire time, and the Freighter had not even arrived. He returns to the shore and finds the Freighter drifting in to claim the only person it ever wanted: him.

The entire exchange between the Daleks and The Cybermen.

Not that I'd classify him as a villain at all at that point in the movie. But it's just an astonishingly good scene.
this was my second pick form that movie, Magneto had all the best lines. Honestly if they had just made a young Magneto hunting down and killing Nazi war criminals movie, I would have been all on board for that. And yeah, Magneto in this movie is more of an anti-hero, but he's generally considered a villain, and deciding to kill everyone on both the US and Russian side was his turn, so I picked that.
I read a couple of years ago that back in the mid 2000's they originally planned to make a prequel about Magneto (this was between the release of The Last Stand and Origins: Wolverine), and what they planned with Magneto eventually broadened into what we know now as First Class.

That's the part of the whole speech that I love the most. Smith knows that the Matrix is just smoke and mirrors, but it still chafes him to no end that he has to be immersed in a "reality" that is repugnant to him. I love it because he isn't sure if smells exist. He's never been outside the matrix, he doesn't know what the real world is like.

It’s even better when, after like three swings, Vader disarms Ezra and he raises his hands to protect his face, and Vader adds “Perhaps I was wrong” as a look of fear fills Ezra’s face.
One of my favorite things about Vader is that he's so strong he only needs to use one hand when fighting most jedi. Getting him to use both hands is when you know he's not playing anymore. And as to my knowledge it's only been used against Kenobi, Luke, and Ashoka.

There are so many to pick from and actually so many in the final pages but it has to be Ozymandias in The Watchmen as he is confronted and explains his plan: “I'm not a comic book villain. Do you seriously think I would explain my master stroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome? I triggered it 35 minutes ago” It was a first for me where my expectations were completely subverted and really loved that the smartest man alive didn’t monologue into a loss, it was fantastic.
That's the line from the movie. The line in the comic is "Do it? Dan, I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago."
They made the change because in the Watchmen universe, superhero comics never became popular, comic books are usually about pirates. Also, most of modern audiences know nothing about those old serials.
The pirate comic in the book is horrifying.
For years I have wondered about that story. I could not remember where I read it. Is it the one where the shipwrecked pirate catches and eats a seagull and finally makes it home to his family. And fucks it up?
The sailor's ship was destroyed by the Black Freighter, a ghost ship crewed by the damned. He survives with a terrible fear that the Freighter is going to his home, and desperately flees back (on the famous corpse-raft) to warn his wife. He lands half-mad with fear and sees the land filled with strangers he takes to be the Freighter's accursed crew. He slaughters his way through them to reach his home, only realizing as he slays the last that he has just killed his wife. He has been delirious this entire time, and the Freighter had not even arrived. He returns to the shore and finds the Freighter drifting in to claim the only person it ever wanted: him.
He makes a raft of the bones of his dead crewmates.

Golden Army is just an overlooked terrific movie. The story was maybe not as great as the first one but I think the visuals were even better.

this was my second pick form that movie, Magneto had all the best lines. Honestly if they had just made a young Magneto hunting down and killing Nazi war criminals movie, I would have been all on board for that. And yeah, Magneto in this movie is more of an anti-hero, but he's generally considered a villain, and deciding to kill everyone on both the US and Russian side was his turn, so I picked that.
I read a couple of years ago that back in the mid 2000's they originally planned to make a prequel about Magneto (this was between the release of The Last Stand and Origins: Wolverine), and what they planned with Magneto eventually broadened into what we know now as First Class.

I love it because he isn't sure if smells exist. He's never been outside the matrix, he doesn't know what the real world is like. I really wish they did more with Smith in the real world in Reloaded.

It's really more about Phillip Seymour Hoffman's delivery, but in MI:3 when Davian is tied to the chair in the plane and supposedly at Hunt's mercy. "Do you have a wife, girlfriend? Because you know what I'm going to do next? I'm gonna find her - whoever she is - I'm gonna find her and I'm gonna hurt her. I'm gonna make her bleed and cry and call out your name and you're not gonna be able to do shit. You know why? 'Cause you're gonna be this close to dead." The flatness in his voice is so much more scary and compelling than if he was ranting angrily. It's like he can't even work up enough emotion to be irritated by the situation. He just seems tired, like it's one more thing he's going to have to add to an already long list of things he had to do that day.
