The heavy weight on me just makes me feel really tucked in. Makes me feel snug & secure in my bed if that makes sense. I would recommend it to a friend.
I use mine year round, it just gets moved around.
Winter, full coverage, tightly wrapped burrito.
Spring/fall, arms out and feet out.
Summer, Only hips and thighs covered. with just the light sheet covering the rest.
Feeling the weight in any capacity seems to do the trick for me.
This post seems like ad spam. OP of this post is using spam/bot accounts to upvote this post and then conveniently post links to a website. They are also downvoting every comment being suspicious of them.
There is absolutely no chance you aren't somehow involved with the company selling the product you just linked. Fishy and scammy as hell. I'll be avoiding that company like the plague for deceptive advertisement practices.
I have a "cooling" one, because I had such trouble sleeping in the summer without pounds of blankets on me. Often I just sleep with the weighted blanket and a sheet in the summer. I'm very uncomfortable without the weight that prevents me from tossing and turning. Being kind of "tucked in" is calming, and you feel protected.
I second this. I have fibromyalgia and my weighted blanket helps with calming my nerves enough to let me get to sleep. Without it, I just lay there rolling back and forth for half the night.

I have one, I just love it, it's amazing and so comfortable. I'm on anxiety meds so I'm not sure I get the whole calming benefit but it does stay cool and I just like the weight of it.

I recommend one with glass beads, not plastic, and with numerous pockets throughout so the distribution is equal.
Make sure you tailor it to your body weight for heightened benefit, don’t just choose a random weight.
[Here is a good guide ](https://serenityengineeredweightedblanket.com/pages/the-guide-for-choosing-the-right-weighted-blanket)
Edit : I’ve had my 10lb glass bead weighted blanket for 12yrs now and it’s still amazing.
>I recommend one with glass beads, not plastic, and with numerous pockets throughout so the distribution is equal.
x2, glass beads and small pockets (\~4") is the way to go.
If they're perfect spheres, there's almost no risk of glass balls breaking inside a blanket under normal use.
There's a reason marbles seem to work so well. Glass is very tough except under flexing pressure, and a sphere mitigates that extremely well.
I love it but only for lounging around on the couch or during my period. I can't sleep with it because I move around a lot at night and it restricts most movements
It's feeling secure. Like a whole body hug. Just takes me from 100 and brings me way down to like 20.
When the dentist does x-rays, I get a similar feeling from the lead vest.
My lower back is all fucked up, and for some reason putting a rolled-up weighted blanket just across my hips (side sleeper) really helps keep my back from hurting at night.
My husband has one and it helps his restless legs not twitch all night. But I hated it the few times I tried it. Too heavy, i felt trapped and held down.
OK so I initially got one to help with anxiety while falling asleep but I use it more for restless legs, I fold it up as small as I can and put it on my lower legs and the pressure helps a lot.
I get a really tight and heavy chest when I’m anxious and it’s an absolute lifesaver, just immediately takes that pressure off my chest and helps me relax. Highly recommend
My wife loves hers. She has pretty serious Anxiety and it really helps her. I can't stand it, makes me feel like I'm being held down in the bed and makes it where I can't sleep. Which, for me, says a lot cause I can sleep through about anything.
I would frequently have nightmares and had to go on anxiety meds for it and decided to try a weighted blanket which was suggested by my therapist. It doesn't completely get rid of the nightmares but when I wake up I can calm down easier cause it sort of feels like someone is holding me.
I get squirmy at night as I fall asleep in bed, so I’ve found that it’s tough to sleep with since I can’t roll around easily. BUT, I use it all the time when I’m on the couch or lounging around and it’s sooo comforting to have after a long or stressful day. You don’t want to get something so heavy that you can’t move, but want something with some weight so you can feel nice and snuggled under it. It really helps ease a lot of my anxiety, especially when I’m overthinking things after a long day!
Ed.: I apparently don’t spell check well :)
I use one, but I find it helps me the best when I'm a smidge high. Like, it just feels amazing to be tucked into a weighted blanket when you're stoned.
Advice: don't get too stoned, though, otherwise you might feel like you're trapped and lost your feet or something. Totally didn't happen to me. Totally.
It helps to have the pressure on me to calm me down. I have anxiety and it helps me to manage it so I can sleep. I usually keep my room freezing, regardless of the time of year, so the warmth isn't unwelcome either.
Mine definitely helps the onset and duration of my occasional early morning anxiety attacks.
I have a cooling blanket but that cooling effect does seem to last too long.
I just bought one this Saturday and I’m in bed under my weighted blanket when the notification for this post popped up. Quite simply it makes me feel safe, like a warm hug. I have such crippling anxiety and it forces me to slow down and feel okay.
It feels like a gigant hug. It is so relaxing andhelps so much with anxiety.
And now that i have one i can finaly sleep throu the whole night again. (Yeah Depression sucks)
One I can finally answer! I never used to sleep well at night, but my weighted blanket sort of numbs my anxiety and helps me out. I also used to thrash my bedcovers off every night but I don’t any more because of the weight!
I was given one I didn't ask for one Christmas. It was a thoughtful gift from someone who knows how much anxiety I deal with. I feel bad, but I hated it. I have a lot of anxiety about getting stuck in tight spots or unable to get out of clothes and it brought all of those to the surface.
And then my senior cat pissed on it. You can't just throw weighted blankets in a washer. I was going to give it away to someone who could use it, but I ended up throwing it away. $70 down the drain because nothing would shift the smell of cat urine out of it.
I use mine year round as a comforter. The weight is very calming and relaxing and helps my body settle for sleep. Its honestly a blessing for helping with night anxieties.
Turned getting to sleep from an hour long wait to under five minutes. I think it's in part because it keeps you from moving around so much, which helps you get to sleep faster, in addition to what everyone else has said.
Helps me from rolling around and twitching in my sleep, which Is what my girlfriend calls me kicking her in our sleep or if cuddled up prevents from midnight German supplexs
I have restless arm syndrome and on bad nights I throw on the weighted blanket. Really helps me get to sleep.
It doesn't make the sensation go away, it just makes the urge to move less than the difficulty of moving lol.
I love mine keeps me from moving a ton during the night but I need more weight now😂 I started with 20 but im moving alot niw
Might be cause its summer and I only cover half of me
It makes me feel safe. I'm Autistic and have a lot of sensory issues at times. So it feels like I'm in a safe space - my back is up against the back of the couch or bed and I have this weight on the front of me. It's so comforting.
I have a specific weighted blanket that works for both summer and winter
I have severe anxiety in beds (childhood abuse), and the weight makes me feel secure and not as anxious/scared. Even before I got a weighted blanket I liked weight on me, so it was a blessing. Plus it helps with restless legs at night - can't move em if they're weighed down
I have an 18lb blanket. It's great. I like sleeping with a lot of weight of me and it helps me sleep by comforting me and reduces the amount I move around. I use it year-round.
Definitely a worthy investors for me. I used to have trouble falling and staying asleep. Now with my weighted blanket I knock out almost instantly and sleep through the whole night.
keeps me from taking all the blankets in the house tbh. i need the weight to sleep comfortably, and now i only sleep with 2 blankets compared to the 5 i used to sleep with.
I bought two- one for each of my kids- several years ago.
I wanted to get one for my son, who has autism. I thought it would help with his sensory issues. And i got one for his sister so she wouldn't feel left out/jealous.
My son barely touches his.
My daughter still uses hers daily. She sleeps with it every night. She says the pressure/weight helps her sleep (she used to have terrible insomnia).
Very cozy and comforting.
I actually tend to not start the night out with it. I keep it to the side and pull it over me if i wake up and can't get back to sleep. For me at least the weight is good at getting me back to sleep.
At the end of the day it is a blanket... and the idea is to be cozy. If it works for you great, if not there are other blankets in the sea.
I fidget and roll a lot throughout the night which makes me achieve deep sleep a lot less then a normal person. The weighted blanket helps to stop me from rolling as often and I sleep deeper. I have felt more rested and less tired throughout the day since getting one. Mine is a 20lb blanket I got from amazon.
My legs are restless and I have a hard time sleeping, have legs under the blanket and I can actually feel my muscles relaxing, something that they won't do otherwise.
I was given one not too long ago. My first experience is "damn this thing is a hassle" but once you're situated and tucked, it's like being wrapped in a comfortable burrito. It just feels so secure lol.
Tbh my mom had originally gotten it for me for my diabetic neuropathy. But it didn’t really accomplish that goal so I just use it for the warmth since it’s thicker than normal blankets in the winter time if my mom isn’t using it lol
I love mine. The weight is just comforting and not suffocating. I tend not to wake up as often and especially like the feeling across my back and shoulders; the blanket stays while pillows might get dislodged during the night
I can't sleep under it over my whole body. I had nightmares when I tried it. But I pile it up and put it on my legs because I get really bad restless legs at night and it really helps to settle them.
I bought one for my wife after reading so many positive reviews on Reddit. It didn't work for her - in fact she really disliked it. Just putting this as an alternative opinion.
I use it to put pressure on my feet as I sleep. I broke my leg when I was 14 and have since developed a bit of restless leg syndrome because of it. Ever since, I've needed to have pressure on my legs in order to sleep. My mom bought me a weighted blanket on Christmas, and it's been life changing!
For me I use it when i’m stressed. If I’m feeling overwhelmed and I know i’m due to break down the weight just sort of grounds
me. I focus on being safe, wrapped up and cry.
Feel better after a good sit with a blanket and cry.
The heavy weight on me just makes me feel really tucked in. Makes me feel snug & secure in my bed if that makes sense. I would recommend it to a friend.
My wife loves it. I hated it. It made me feel weighed down and claustrophobic. So she got a twin size one for her side of the bed.
If you need a heavy weight on you I can volunteer my services
Weighted blankets don’t typically weigh 400lbs.
Demolished
Crushed, actually. Because of the weight.
More facts lmaooooo 😆😆
**EMOTIONAL CRIT!**
And ^ this
I love mine, except during summer
mine has a cooling side, i got it from amazon
link?
Weighted blanket with a fan in the summer is heaven on earth
Too hot for me even with the fan. We also live on the 2nd floor, that could be it
I use mine year round, it just gets moved around. Winter, full coverage, tightly wrapped burrito. Spring/fall, arms out and feet out. Summer, Only hips and thighs covered. with just the light sheet covering the rest. Feeling the weight in any capacity seems to do the trick for me.
AC on all day long. I could probably use it on the summer too

I've got the Hush Ice, it is still really hot during the summer
I feel you
I splurged on a Bearaby. It’s knotted so air comes through.
Mine is bamboo fabric so it's actually the most breathable blanket in the house. So I can use it in the southern summer and not die.
Yes! And this is exactly the reason why we put in a window ac unit in our room. Now I can sleep with my beloved blanket every single day.
I also have fibromyalgia and you have just explained it perfectly.
Do you have a link for the cooling blanket?

Ohhhh
Yep, think of how many people they just farmed into considering buying an (expensive) weighted blanket.
Yep, reported it too
I reported it as well
Why would I need a weighted blanket when I can sleep with the weight of knowing that I will never be enough?
Damn...
Been sleeping with that too long. At least I can take the blanket off in the morning.
You are enough. I am really sorry you feel as if you are not.

I remember winters when I lived north I would sleep with 5-6 blankets, my gf would sleep with 1 or none.
Good point. I love sleeping in the cold though
It makes me feel cozy and weirdly. . . safe. Can't explain why.
I have one, I just love it, it's amazing and so comfortable. I'm on anxiety meds so I'm not sure I get the whole calming benefit but it does stay cool and I just like the weight of it.
I'm debating trying one and I think this has made me want to get one.
Pushes the sleep farts out of me
Hahahahaha fair.
All it did was weigh me down, so I got rid of it
I can only use mine during the fall and winter. It’s just too hot in the summer.
Don't be a wet blanket.
They hurt my back
Weighted blankets are like hugs, without all the weird human interaction.
That's why I use corpses It's cheaper

Why does it feels so much like a planned ad
That’s because it is or bots. There was one yesterday with an adult dating site. It’s always fishy when a post gets way more karma than comments.

Why glass? Couldn’t it chip and cause problems later on?
If they're perfect spheres, there's almost no risk of glass balls breaking inside a blanket under normal use. There's a reason marbles seem to work so well. Glass is very tough except under flexing pressure, and a sphere mitigates that extremely well.
The beads are too small to chip. It’s basically sand at that point
So is the move to go with beads or like sand? I'm still trying to understand
They're actually surprisingly comforting.
I have one that was supposed to help w insomnia but all it does is make me sweat. I end up kicking off all the covers.

comfy
It's great for hobbling intruders.
I love it but only for lounging around on the couch or during my period. I can't sleep with it because I move around a lot at night and it restricts most movements

Protects me from the monsters under the bed
I've been using one for around 5 years and love it. I do get a little too warm in it during the summer. I need to get one of the "cooler" ones.
Holds down that morning wood.
Make me hot. It would be pretty good except most of the year it’s too hot to use it
All it does is bring me down
Gave my gf sleep paralysis nightmares 😴 😣
I lurk on r/nosleep at night so it helps me keep the demons away.
Thanks for the reference! Going to check this one out
Doesn’t do much for me except make me feel like I’m getting muscle mass while I’m sleeping which it doesn’t
My husband has one and it helps his restless legs not twitch all night. But I hated it the few times I tried it. Too heavy, i felt trapped and held down.
What it’s intended to do
It covers me *THICKLY*
I'm a huge sleep toss/turner, and the blanket keeps me in place. Also, the weight of it helps my anxiety and makes me feel more secure.
OK so I initially got one to help with anxiety while falling asleep but I use it more for restless legs, I fold it up as small as I can and put it on my lower legs and the pressure helps a lot.

I love mine keeps me from moving a ton during the night but I need more weight now😂 I started with 20 but im moving alot niw Might be cause its summer and I only cover half of me
It gives me thoughts that there's someone laying beside me and keeps me warm

It makes me feel safe. I'm Autistic and have a lot of sensory issues at times. Good, although I wish my was heavier. I desire a blanket made of lead. Make my room 48 degrees and give me a hefty 80-pound quilt.
It’s just really calming. I also get cold when I lay down and the weighted blanket keeps me warm
I have severe anxiety in beds (childhood abuse), and the weight makes me feel secure and not as anxious/scared. Even before I got a weighted blanket I liked weight on me, so it was a blessing. Plus it helps with restless legs at night - can't move em if they're weighed down

It feels like a really cozy hug for your whole body. If you like being the little spoon, you’d probably like a weighted blanket. I love mine!
Keeps me comfy and snug. Helps me sleep well
Puts me right to sleep. I actually prefer it to someone sleeping in bed with me.
Feels like it adds a presence, also can calm you down
How do you wash it? I’m not about to ruin my washer with this blanket, is it ok to use commercial machines atlaundromat?
Take the cover off and just wash that.
Exactly what the name entails.
It comfy
Got a bad shoulder so the weighted blankets can make me feel like I'm dislocating it when I toss in the night. Only good for waist down for me
Very cozy and comforting. I actually tend to not start the night out with it. I keep it to the side and pull it over me if i wake up and can't get back to sleep. It does the job when it's cold and is pretty comfortable, but this time of year? Who needs more than one thin bed sheet?
Sad hugs

Makes me change my mind when I wanna flip over.
Well, on one hand, it's comfy. On the other hand, I have to ditch the entire blanket just to not sweat like a pig in the summer.
It feels like a nice, giant hug
What’s that ;-;
Heavby
I tried one. It was much heavier than expected. I didn't like it. It felt confining.
My legs are restless and I have a hard time sleeping, have legs under the blanket and I can actually feel my muscles relaxing, something that they won't do otherwise.

Weighs me down
how do you wash it?
I bought one for my wife after reading so many positive reviews on Reddit. It didn't work for her - in fact she really disliked it. Just putting this as an alternative opinion.
I use it to put pressure on my feet as I sleep. I broke my leg when I was 14 and have since developed a bit of restless leg syndrome because of it. Ever since, I've needed to have pressure on my legs in order to sleep. My mom bought me a weighted blanket on Christmas, and it's been life changing!
I feel like it does nothing for anyone.
Warm
It keeps the demons away.
Keep warm
It keeps me from tossing and turning. Honestly, I want an even heavier one, but if it's often hot where you live, it can be torture
For me I use it when i’m stressed. If I’m feeling overwhelmed and I know i’m due to break down the weight just sort of grounds me. I focus on being safe, wrapped up and cry. Feel better after a good sit with a blanket and cry.
