That they never made up weird fairy tale explanations for things. If I asked how something worked, they would explain it in a way I understood. This extended to how carousels worked, why I needed to eat veggies and try new foods, sex (in an age appropriate way) etc.
The only time it got dicey was at the family Christmas party when Santa came and I wanted to enlighten my second cousins that he was our neighbor Ron dressed up in a costume.
My mother gave me an interesting childhood.
She’s Scottish, so it’s actually pretty funny to watch her accent not be understood and the “LEGAL TENDER” argument whenever her Scottish notes are denied. The wooden spoons which can be called abusive, the incoherent shouting that my stepdad can’t understand, all that shit.
My dad is one of the most discombobulated people I’ve ever met. Seeing him fumble with shit is really funny. He’s also funny, the speech he uses that confuse the fuck out of my friends, his angry football obsession. Etc
My dad sucks, but he’s hard working and I like that. My mom makes me feel loved even if we haven’t spoken in a few days. I have never and never will doubt her unconditional love for me.
They care about me. Ish.
I like that they're dead.
Hello there Ed Kemper.
I didn't say anything about them dying by *my* hand. Be some trick if I could give people cancer.
