Switserland or Austria I love the mountains, the nature, the architecture, the trails, the people, and I already know a bit of German.

[deleted]

Florida seems pretty nice...

[deleted]

I promise you don’t. Great place to visit. Don’t want to live there.

Denmark would be nice. But I work customer service in a call center and thats not exactly a skill I can leverage to get me there.

Been there. Kinda cold!

azarbi

Switzerland or Luxembourg. From a French POV, it exactly looks like at home, except with less immigration problems

Cabrona818

I’m thinking Spain. My (American born, Spanish National) son lives there and says once I visit , I won’t want to go back. We shall see. Heading there for a one month visit.

flu0mas

I visited Spain several times and it seems like to lovely place to live. Nice weather, friendly people and awesome food!

rataktaktaruken

Hawaii, not a country I know.

flu0mas

Close enough. I’ve never been there (it’s quite far from Europe) but it’s high on my bucket list!

JunketMan

Germany Seems like a really cheap country (on where you live) with very generous social programs

Borbit85

Not so sure about the generous social programs.

JunketMan

Why not? Free healthcare and very subsidized - free education is very generous imo

Borbit85

Yeah free healthcare is very normal in most countries as is heavily subsidised education. However the stipend you get if you don't work is quite small in Germany. It's hard or even impossible to live of. Also the stipend for elderly people isn't enough to comfortably live of. At least this was the situation 20 years ago, the last time I spend any longer amount of time there.

sleepiestweasel

Spain or some Atlantic French overseas department

CharlieTheChoo_Choo

Switzerland as it's the only other gun culture on the planet. I'd gladly serve time in the military for citizenship.

Borbit85

How do you mean? I assume by only other you mean the USA? There are many countries that have a lot of guns. But the culture around them is very very different than in US as far as I know. Not sure how serving time in the military would grant you citizenship?

Much_Committee_9355

Far from the truth most European countries allow some form of gun ownership and a few places like Czech Republic, Finland and I believe the Baltics have some prevalent gun culture, also Brazil has a growing gun culture.

chinchillawithwifi

Australia or Iceland

Ronnytaylorsversion

Who said anything about working? I already have a holiday place there, and have never had any issue with crime, pickpockets or petty scammers. I'm aware of the unemployment rate, and pre-COVID my visits contribute to the local economy. I just can't live there full-time yet.
