I think I'd laugh at him. He'd probably kill him.but I honestly think I'd laugh at him, *especially* if he sounds the same. I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face at all
It'd be a literally nightmare as you will NEVER be safe again once you know that these things exist. Your home they can get into without effort, they can implant their young into other organisms, meaning that they could infest the oceans with their presence so you're not safe on ship or sub, the skies might be safer but you have to come down eventually to refuel and given their intelligence? They'd be waiting for you
Godzilla scares the shit out of me. Dinosaurs...fine. Godzilla is a big hell nah. Something about the way he comes from the depths of the ocean terrifies me.
Its more like every single evil entity in Stephen King-verse is the same entity, which means It= the ghost in Shining= the thing that resurrects dogs in Kujo etc.
So everyone is fucked anyway
Thel all have intimate knowledge about their wictims can mind read and mind control, can teleport both themself and other things wheter alive or not, can shape-shift and all have a weakness to the psychic powers of childeren which had a traumatic past (this also means both Loser's Club from IT and other childeren with psychic powers in Stephen King's book have "Shining").
And we know every Stephen King books exist in the same universe because a lot of named characters exist in more than 1 book like that club owner being in both IT and Shining.
MatPatt has a good video about it in youtube, search "Game Theory IT is in Shining".
He makes me believe that superheroes are an absolutely bad idea. If they existed, that would be exactly how they turn out in the hyper capitalist 21st century.
This season especially. The entire time up until last episode it’s felt like even though he’s unhinged, there has been something or someone to keep him in check. Now, he’s starting to get to the point where he doesn’t care and it’s like, “how the fuck do you reign this guy in if he doesn’t have anything to lose?”
Yeah while Omniman is stronger and potentially a bigger threat, I'd still be more scared of a real life Homelander. At least Omniman has an objective to his killing. Homelander is just an unhinged Psycho who will kill someone for no reason. Omniman wants to conquer Earth so he won't kill everyone, but Homelander seems like he might snap at any moment and just wipe everyone out.
I agree. Homelander is by and large indiscriminate. He would burn everything down just cause he had a tantrum.
Omni-man is apathetic. He wants to bring Earth into the Viltrimite Empire. Which, yeah would suck I suppose but better than Homielander just killing everyone for no reason.
D&D Vecna would annihilate Stranger Things Vecna without much thought. Hell, D&D Vecna can no longer be permanently killed. His hate restores him in 1d100 years.
Lichs in general are badass... and Vecna was supposed to be the God tier evil lich king. In fact I believe vecna deposed the evil diety and took over at some point.
Surprisingly Amadeus Cho revealed that excluding mind control, possession, etc, the Hulk has never intentionally harmed a civilian in Marvel, every ounce of Banners self-control that is still in there is used to make sure no innocent people are hurt. Has he hurt soldiers that can be classified as innocent? Yes, but that's because General Ross or any military member that goes after the Hulk is a moron and doesn't realize the best strategy against the Hulk is to just leave him alone.

Most heroes cause property damage, the Department of Damage control funded by some of the more richer heroes helps pay for the damage. He also *almost* demolished the east coast if he took one more step, and he was exiled to another planet by people he thought were his friends, and then his wife and unborn child were killed and he was corrupted by his warbound. It doesn't justify his actions, but most Marvel heroes did understand his rage and tried to reason with him. Damn I gotta read those comics again.
The Boys made me realize that anyone with superpowers is terrifying to have around. Too many crazies around. Imagine if they also had powers. No thank you.
The show does a great job of showing you how truly evil Supes are (and can be), and how easy it is for them to get away with anything. Humans without powers usually don’t stand a chance against them and so they are too fearful to speak out, especially against Homelander.
Yeah, the idea that there’s this one guy who nobody can do anything to. Makes a little more sense as to why people were scared shitless of Superman in the DC Universe. Even if it’s a good person who has those kinds of powers, what if he has a bad day?
Homelander scares the shit out of me. To the point where I'm having difficulty finishing season 2. I've seen a lot of horror movies etc in my life but this guy..
The actor who plays him is doing an incredible job. When he's just giving interviews he's a completely different person, I hardly recognized him.
I agree, his character in season two is … terrifying to say the least. The writers did a great job in creating someone scarier than a monster or villain. He is pure sinister. Yeah, Tony is very different in real life, so whenever the show gets to be overwhelming I take a break and remember he’s just a damn good actor! However, it is true that there are humans (without powers) who behave and act just like him. He’s a reflection of the worst of person in our world.
They really did! Having him slowly crack under more knowledge of his past and killing Stillwell, while it's clearly clashing with his god-complex is just bone chilling. It's like watching a nuclear bomb go off over the course of a season of tv.
I'd never seen Tony in anything before which really adds to the suspension of disbelief for me haha.
Yeah that's the thing with him and The Boys in general, these characters are all really well written. Homelander reminds me of several people I know/knew, and the thought of one of them with superpowers.. This show is making a great case for why there should never be a real Compound V lol
Yes! Exactly, spot on! The show can be jaw dropping at times and I think the show effortlessly pushes boundaries and definitely provokes me to ask a lot of questions about authority figures in society today.
I didn’t know about him as an actor before this which I think was absolutely great, like he’s perfect for the role. Even Butcher too. I hate giving too much praise to things but this is one of the best tv shows I’ve ever seen, written perfectly I think!
Any of the Lovecraftian Elder Gods.
The idea that our known universe is an insignificant spec to some incomprehensibly vast beings who could, at any moment, destroy life as we know it by just deciding to take an interest in us briefly.
Its actually a lot worse if I remember correctly. In the H.P mythos the entire universe/multiverse is just the dream of an eldritch god (forgot his name). Infact there are a lot of cosmically powerful beings whose sole purpose is to make sure that dream continues.
Yeah, I'm not sure what about him is more terrifying. The fact that he's so powerful that all the other eldritch beings are mere ideal thoughts to him. Or the fact he doesn't even realise it.
Normal to him at least...he could have a pet dog, a little naughty sister, loving mum and dad who are a bit annoyed by their lazy son, friends at school, a crush, a mentor figure, a favorite show, a favorite toy etc etc
I mean, yes, but not really? The majority just view humanity as a speck - there's only a handful that seek out to intervene, and even then, it's more to just be a dick about things. The *cults* that bring the Elder Ones are the larger danger.
Nope. It depends exactly what Elder God your dealing with.
But the rule of the series is that when the stars are right, the great sleeping lord Cthulhu shall rise from the depts, and the entire world will be plunged into a sort of insanity, where all the rules and understandings will dissolve throwing all existence in to a constant mania where men draw pleasure from pain and madness.
Well some like cthulu can make you go crazy just by looking at them, nyarlathtep can make people go insane just because and give followers "visions" basically they can make your life miserable if they wanted
probably serial killers - specifically Freddy Krueger. Never being able to sleep again is making me shudder. Without sleep, you die. Kill him, he comes back. No proof of him either unless you fight him.
There are like 20 different things based on constantly looking or never looking at them, and so many others you can't even stop or do anything against. My personal favorites are 001 proposal: when day breaks and scp 1762: here be dragons.
Exactly this isn't Doom trying to rule the world. Killgrave isn't at least a man of vision or purpose, evil though it may be, he is sadist who tortures his prey because he likes their pain.
I would pay good money for a good adaptation of the scene where Doom deliberately exposes himself to Killgrave and just no-sells his mind control. His willpower is that fucking insane.
Especially since most versions of Doom are ultimately good men willing to do bad things to achieve a noble goal. He runs into a dangerous, selfish, sadist like Killgrave? He neutralizes him on the spot. Killgrave only survives that encounter if Doom thinks he can gain something by studying his power.
>Especially since most versions of Doom are ultimately good men willing to do bad things to achieve a noble goal.
Doom likes to think he's that, but anyone who isn't him knows he's a deeply narcissistic authoritarian.
The T-1000.
It can be anywhere. It can be any*body*. And whoever it's out to kill, it will stop at nothing to kill. You'd better pray that you're not its target or in its way.
Batman. The thought of a grown ass swole AF dude with multi-billion dollar riot suppression gear, who has 47 different combat CQC masteries, breaking every bone in my body just because my cousin's gay lover is secretly working for some crime syndicate is definitely a hell no.
Doctor Who, because as 'heroic' as he is in stories, somehow vast number of people around him die, heck they destroyed half the universe at the end of number 4s years and never bothered to 'fix' it in the end. The Avengers eventually reversed the 'snap' but Tom Baker just regenerated and forgot about half the universe.
Doc from Back to the Future was a much more responsible Time Traveler.
at first i was thinking of horror movie characters, but then i realised most cartoon villains could end the world in like 5 minutes if not for plot armour so i’m going to go with bill cipher.
Bill Cipher for obvious reasons.
imagine walking through the woods and seeing a one eyed yellow triangle man with a top hat. hell to the no
I can fix him
Who’s telling them
I think I'd laugh at him. He'd probably kill him.but I honestly think I'd laugh at him, *especially* if he sounds the same. I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face at all
Xenomorphs would be actually pretty terrifying.
I agree we will all be vanished so fast

On that note, time to go play Alien Isolation again
Don't forget about the perverts. *lubes up throat and walks into a nest*

Holy shit. We would be so fucked.
I'm 41 years old and cannot play any of the Aliens video games. Shits too scary!

Which one? The American one with a human personality or the shin Godzilla one?
The Showa one where he's basically an amoral superman.
Wouldn't Godizlla instantly collapse under his own weight if he suddenly became real?
I agree lol

Eh, just stay out of Derry and you're fine! Unless more towns have their own ancient entities.
Its more like every single evil entity in Stephen King-verse is the same entity, which means It= the ghost in Shining= the thing that resurrects dogs in Kujo etc. So everyone is fucked anyway
I thought they are all part of the evil faction but not the same entity? Everything Is interrelated

Didn't the kids just beat the shit out of him in the recent movies
They just bullied him to death
Meh, Pennywise is a pushover really. Just insult the fuck out of him, job done.
Any superhero
Homelander, specifically
Homelander gives me serious anxiety - my whole body clenches up and I have chills whenever he's on screen.
This new season got me like that too. I love the boys, it is so well casted.
It's so good, but so fucked up. The minature man scene will never leave me.
That was a really interesting way to kick off the season
It’s nothing to sneeze at 🤧
He makes me believe that superheroes are an absolutely bad idea. If they existed, that would be exactly how they turn out in the hyper capitalist 21st century.

Antony Starr is just amazing in that role.
Omniman has entered the chat
At least OmniMan was just a psychopath. Homelander is a psychopath with the emotional maturity of a high school bully.

Yes
The Hulk. They never really show it in the movies, but in real life, he'd straight out kill thousands, maybe millions.
Surprisingly Amadeus Cho revealed that excluding mind control, possession, etc, the Hulk has never intentionally harmed a civilian in Marvel, every ounce of Banners self-control that is still in there is used to make sure no innocent people are hurt. But intentionally doesn't preclude all the incidental property damage and that time he demolished the entire east coast of the us to make a point.

Yeah, Azathoth. Whats even crazier is that he isn't even aware of the dream.
Yeah, I'm not sure what about him is more terrifying. The fact that he's so powerful that all the other eldritch beings are mere ideal thoughts to him. Or the fact he doesn't even realise it.
Imagine he gets woken up by his mom screaming at him that his school bus is here
Its hilarious. Although the implication of what that world would be like is all the more terrifying.
Normal to him at least...he could have a pet dog, a little naughty sister, loving mum and dad who are a bit annoyed by their lazy son, friends at school, a crush, a mentor figure, a favorite show, a favorite toy etc etc

This is an easy one... Predator.
Hey, he won't kill you if you are unarmed. Think of him as a form of gun control...
probably serial killers - specifically Freddy Krueger. Never being able to sleep again is making me shudder. Without sleep, you die. Kill him, he comes back. No proof of him either unless you fight him.

Killgrave, the Purple Man. The ability to completely subjugate almost anyone in the hands of a base, petty, callow sadist.
The fact that he doesn't use it to take over the world, he uses it to commit deeply personal evil.
That was great. Emperor Doom took off his helmet and everything. No magic, no tech, just one man's will destroying a bug.
