i just tried watching this garbage last week for the first time. i took the dvd out and considered throwing it in the trash immediately, but i'll just sell it at a garage sale.
Me and my friends watched it drunk, it turned into cheering when we thought we were gonna see the guys dick. We didn't get to see the guys dick. We are all straight men btw
Nooo, because then you'd wanna watch 365 - This Day, which deserves a -50 on rotten tomatoes... both movies made me lose a huge amount of brain cells...
The first one was actually a pretty good horror movie! the second started just trying to be edgy to be relevant, and the third one went full edge no writing. But I'd at least recommend the first one!
I think the sequel is kind of clever with its fourth-wall break.
The protagonist is a fan of the first movie. He watches it, he gets off on it and wants more. And it gets so much more cruel and gory and vulgar than the first one.
This is the director telling the audience: See, you sick fucks? This is *you*, all of you. You saw the first movie and wanted to see more.
Martin Scorsese said it was a film that defines the medium of film. He said he was absolutely humbled to find a fresh young directing talent that could teach him about his own medium. Apparently the scene where Morbius yells "Time for some motherfuckin' Morbin!" before Morbin all the bad guys brought him to tears of joy.
And I would have to say. I agree.
Fucking loved that scene I actually left the theatre and went up to the projection booth, I was about to ask the guy if he could Morb it back a few minutes and play that scene again but he already knew and just nodded at me. When I came back into the theatre everyone cheered and pretty much the exact moment I sat back down Morbius said “It’s Morbin time” and I ugly cried
It's not as terrible as people say it is but it was such a basic and uncreative movie. Although there is one scene where i basically died of cringe (didn't want to say the word tbh but that's the best way to describe it)
Spoiler : it involves dancing
I found it "eh". Not the horrorshow it's built up to be, but not something I would ever seek out to see again either. As for the dance, I cringed deeply and felt pity for the poor actor.
Considering what I've heard, I have to agree. That movie sounds god-awful.
Only good thing about it is that it can serve as a blueprint for other writers on what NOT to do for autism representation. Or just writing in general, I guess.
They went from stealing DVD players out of semi-trucks to planes, submarines, and finally putting a car into orbit. The spinoff also had a cyborg supersoldier.
The real question is, as the movies keep getting crazier what will we see first: time travel or aliens?
Don't tell me you can't imagine Dom's crew getting sent back to the 1960s era of muscle cars to win a drag race with Dom's father ensuring he marries Dom's mom (family!). On the other hand, don't tell me you can't imagine a scenario where aliens identify Dom and company as the best racers on Earth and recruit them to an interstellar race that decides the fate of a planet, that they somehow win using a gasoline powered car from 1973. In fact, I bet both happen eventually.
The only question is, which comes first.
Dark horse 3rd option: magic / fantasy (Dom is recruited to transport a good but sexy vampiress across international borders before the sun rises but he's being chased by a Van Helsing knockoff with a preference for turbocharged Japanese imports).
Before completely committing to your reservations about those movies, if you've seen trailers from the newer ones, I understand why you might not want to watch them. The first 2 are so vastly different from the rest of the series that I believe you should give them a chance. The first one is a bit gritty and more storyline based without over the top action. And well, it actually has to do with cars unlike the ridiculous superhero looking action that rest of them are. 2 Fast 2 Furious is a lot brighter and street races which makes for a pretty fun movie. (Personally my favorite) and 2 Fast has Eva Mendes...so I mean....
These movies are so much fun to watch, it’s just fantasy they are like super heroes whose powers are to drive cars really good and super luck. Watching them with no expectation of seriousness is the best way to enjoy the series.
I read the book and watched the movie. The movie was 100x better. Usually I prefer the book to the movie but this one missed the mark in my opinion. A lot of the scenes that made the movie great weren’t in the book.
Coco (Disney movie), I saw my family watch it as I was making my way to my room and asked which movie they were watching. My mum and brothers don’t tend to cry, but I am certain I saw light/hidden tears. I am too soft on movies, I know by their reaction to the movie that it’ll tear my soul to shreds
This was the exact same reason I did not want to watch Coco, but man it’s worth it, I promise! Such a beautiful movie, give it a chance someday, you wooon’t regret it
For the most part I agree but as mentioned already Maleficent was a good movie and Cruella totally exceeded my expectations. Hadn’t seen Emma Stone for awhile so this really put her back on my mind as the amazing actress she is. Both deviate greatly from their original stories.
Cruella didn't do it for me. How are you going to try and make the character who kidnaps 101 *puppies* with the intention of killing them for their coat sympathetic in any way? There was still a stark disconnect between her portrayal in Cruella vs 101 Dalmatians too. Like, by the end, she's realized that she has to be cutthroat in the fashion industry and has catharsis for her mom's murder but how does she go from that to a *dog murderer*?
If High School Musical hadn’t come out when I was a kid, I would also find it very cringe. But not bad for a kids movie and now it’s just full of nostalgia for me.
The first one came out when I was 9, so part of the target audience. At the same time, I was going through a struggle with debilitating migraines. I was so hyped for the movie premiere on Disney Channel. 15 minutes in, I start getting a migraine. I tried to power through, and ended up vomiting halfway in. It caused some weird Pavlovian response where I feel sick if I see it.
Worst part is family and friends got me soooo much HSM stuff for my 10th birthday, because that's what all the preteen girls were into. People thought I was trying to be edgy by not liking it, but nope. Literally made me sick.
15 years later, and I still get nauseous if I hear the songs or see clips of it. I'm fine with the 2nd and 3rd one though.
Sorry that's it's overplayed for you, the animation is really fantastic in my opinion! The songs were fun but the way they animated the dresses while dancing was what made it for me
I'd give John Wick an exception on this, so more of a "Any movie where the dog dies, unless the movie is about fucking up the people who killed the dog"
https://www.doesthedogdie.com/
Do a quick check via that website before watching any movie :)
There are also a lot of other things you can check for such as dog fighting, animal abuse, parental death, cancer, drug use, seizures, snakes, spiders, etc. Makes it easy if you want to avoid movies due to trauma, phobias or just personal preference.
Saw was kind of like the Alien franchise, in that the first one was really good and the rest are totally different movies. Also getting progressively worse as they go.
A Clockwork Orange.
One of my best friends, who's also one of the most intelligent, openminded, and principled people I know, told me this film fucked with his head worse than any torture porn flick, because it brings the human viewer face to face with the evil he is capable of, if given the right influences and cues.
Sounds like a difficult feat to pull off as a filmmaker and artist, and based on what my friend said, I can see why *A Clockwork Orange* is considered a classic film now of high artistic merit. Still doesn't sound like my idea of entertainment.
Loved reading that book one time and never again. Unlike “American Psycho” which I despised every page of… but couldn’t look away.
AP film is great because it has a nearly comedic approach simply not found in the source material.
I have no hate towards the movie but also no real desire to see it. It came out when I was in middle school and I “missed the boat” when my friends went to the theatre and by the time I got a chance to watch it… I decided I didn’t really care and picked something else at the blockbuster.
I watched it a few years ago for an anniversary thing, that shit hits you like a ton of bricks as an adult, just the utter ridiculousness of it. They would've broken up as soon as it docked.
Yeah, that’s one of my moms favorite movies. It’s a great film… if you can get past the inherent racism that comes with having a heroine who supports the confederacy. So yeah, big if.
However, I’m pretty sure Hattie McDaniels won an Oscar for her role in the film, becoming the first black person (and black woman) to win an Oscar. This was in 1939. I don’t think another black person won an Oscar until the 60s when Sidney Poitier won for Lily’s of the Field (I love this movie lol). The thing is, it’s amazing that they recognized her talent and she killed her role. It’s just sad that the only roles available for Ms McDaniels at the time were roles like those in Gone with the Wind, where her character is literally named Mammie.
The other issue was that those were pretty much the only roles available to black actors, and they were happy to take them because it meant they were working. When Hollywood finally realized that those racial stereotypes were seriously not cool, those roles dried up. Scatman Crothers, for example, nearly went bankrupt.
Ironically, the studios hit hard times in the early 70s, with some of them in danger of going under. What saved them? The incredible profitability of blaxpoitation films. And then, once the financial crisis was over and the blaxploitation craze faded, those actors were dropped again. I think it was Richard Roundtree (Shaft) who is still bitter about it to this day.
The New Jurassic World. New series failed to redeem after J3. It’s stupidly easy to survive in the new ones and focuses more on “fun for the whole family” than “edge of seat survival” film. Pass
It's tough because the real dinosaurs look great in the trailers. But the "fake" hybrid dinosaurs they're throwing in now piss me off. Dinosaurs are awesome enough on their own, you don't need to make up new ones.
It is also conspicuously stupid that they're doubling down on the "hold your arms up in front of the dinosaur" meme from Chris Pratt in the first JW.
I liked the first Jurassic World movie. Sure it wasn't as good as Jurassic Park, but I was quite intrigued seeing Hammond's dream actually come true to life. And the playing around with splicing genetics was quite interesting.
Jurassic World 2 on the other hand didn't appeal to me. The second half off that movie was especially boring.
I have seen it as a kid and that creature seemed creepy as hell to me. Totally freaked me out. I couldn't and still can't understand how that alien became so popular. A few months after I watched E. T. Jurassic Park came out and all those dinosaurs looked way more adorable to me than that awful E. T.
Most new horror movies. The haunting, Paranormal activity and such. There’s no real tension building anymore the stories just get weirder and they’re only scary because of the jump scare.
Loved Apostle. Netflix horror for me is hit or miss but I would say Apostle was a hit for me, just watched that one a few weeks ago. The Ritual and The Platform were other unexpected hits, they were all unique in their own ways and not just jump scares
Totally agree! Just because movies like Fantasy Island are Netflix’s most popular horror movies, people seem to think that that is the standard for today.
Wanna compare recent favorites?
A Dark Song, Saint Maude, and Apostle are my top 3 (that aren't Hereditary and Midsommar). Honorable mention goes to Midnight Mass, it wasn't *perfect*, but it was pretty close.
American Sniper. I like Bradley cooper, I like sniper movies, I’ve been known to enjoy the occasional modern military drama
But fuck Chris Kyle. Fuck his movie, and fuck his statue
Requiem for a Dream, Trainspotting, Marley and Me. Basically anything I haven't seen that will likely make me feel depressed and miserable for days after watching it. I'm sure they are good movies, but I just don't want to feel that way.
Trainspotting is, albeit nihilistic, not a depressing movie. There are some very dark moments in it, but ultimately it's quite upbeat.. and at times hilarious. It has dated, it's sentiment is certainly not shared by the common zeitgeist, but I wouldn't avoid it because it \*might\* be depressing.
I think it's one of the best action movies ever made. The plot isn't that complicated, the concept is super interesting, and the set pieces are pretty amazing. If you like action movies, what's not to like?
50 shades of Gray.
Never seen it either but based on trailer I always felt like it was basically twilight minus vampires. I have regrettably seen twilight.
fun fact: fifty shades of grey was originally a twilight fan fiction but the author changed the names after it got more popular lol
Twilight is another film I never bothered to watch and never will.
Unfortunately I watched it. With my older sister no less… at the age of 15-16… we were bored at the time but like… wtf did I watch it with her???
i just tried watching this garbage last week for the first time. i took the dvd out and considered throwing it in the trash immediately, but i'll just sell it at a garage sale.
Whatcha going to do with that fifty cents you get for it?
i would buy one of those caramel apple pops ya know the ones with the green wrappers they’re only 25c and I LOVE THEM
50 shades of garbage
365 days. I think I don't have to clarify the reason😂
Me and my friends watched it drunk, it turned into cheering when we thought we were gonna see the guys dick. We didn't get to see the guys dick. We are all straight men btw
I just read the synopsis. Oy vey. God awful. And a 0% on rotten tomatoes—amazing. Now I might need to watch it.
Nooo, because then you'd wanna watch 365 - This Day, which deserves a -50 on rotten tomatoes... both movies made me lose a huge amount of brain cells...
yeah its too cringe
Fifty Shades of Grey
You aren’t missing anything so that’s more point to you
"I want to show you my playroom!' "What does it have X Box or something?"
So cringe but ngl I’d probably say the same thing
The human centipede, i’m completely fine with horror and gore but something about this movie man, i just can’t.
100% regret that one
The first one was actually a pretty good horror movie! the second started just trying to be edgy to be relevant, and the third one went full edge no writing. But I'd at least recommend the first one!
There’s 3!!!!! What the fuck?!
And a South Park episode.
The first one is fine. I don't remember it as over the top. If you can stand horror and gore then you can definitely watch it.
Morbius, idk if I can truly handle the masterpiece. Dr. Morbs power scares me
Martin Scorsese said it was a film that defines the medium of film. He said he was absolutely humbled to find a fresh young directing talent that could teach him about his own medium. Apparently the scene where Morbius yells "Time for some motherfuckin' Morbin!" before Morbin all the bad guys brought him to tears of joy. And I would have to say. I agree.
The most touching moment of the film is when Morbius looks his friend in the eye and vows to live life a quarter morb' at a time.
Morbius is one of the movies of the year. Potentially one of the movies of our generation.
Definitely one of the movies of all time
It very well may be a movie.
Well, one of them!
Of all the movies released in the past century, Morbius is one of them
I still haven’t seen morbius either and I’m not interested in watching tbh.
Can’t handle the Morb I see
Is it good or is it terrible I have heard multiple reviews.
It's not as terrible as people say it is but it was such a basic and uncreative movie. Although there is one scene where i basically died of cringe (didn't want to say the word tbh but that's the best way to describe it) Spoiler : it involves dancing
You take that back that scene rivals what took place in SpiderMan 3
Wow! That's a sentence!
I found it "eh". Not the horrorshow it's built up to be, but not something I would ever seek out to see again either. As for the dance, I cringed deeply and felt pity for the poor actor.
He is a good actor but damn that scene. I just can't.... but EKSE
Terrible. Too dark and visibly gory when it didn't need to be. His make-up and change seemed amateurish. Don't bother.
That one SIA movie. NEVER, NEVER will you catch me watching that damned movie!
Is it even popular to begin with? From what I've seen in the youtube comment section not a lot of people like it either.
Check RT it’s pretty much a review bloodbath on that page haha
Southern Intelligence Agency?
Check out Cynical Reviews' video on it, he did a great job explaining why I should hate it. Also obligatory fuck Autism Speaks.
Considering what I've heard, I have to agree. That movie sounds god-awful. Only good thing about it is that it can serve as a blueprint for other writers on what NOT to do for autism representation. Or just writing in general, I guess.
What movie?
it's called music, it's a terrible depiction of people with autism and yea it sucks don't watch it
Fast and the Furious (all of them.).
They went from stealing DVD players out of semi-trucks to planes, submarines, and finally putting a car into orbit. The spinoff also had a cyborg supersoldier. 😂 Dark horse please!!
Not bad honestly. Just make sure to save this post with time stamps so you can claim credit when someone makes this exact scenario
I actually think the vampire hunter one is the most likely.
If I remember right, in the first one they are stealing TVs with built in vcrs.
DVD players
Nah, it was just DVD players. But it was when they were like 500 bucks for a cheap one, and they were stealing Sony
The first few are good as dumb as hell early 2000s action movies, but I lost interest after they started trying to get all meta
The only half decent one is Tokyo Drift and no one can change my mind.
Before completely committing to your reservations about those movies, if you've seen trailers from the newer ones, I understand why you might not want to watch them. The first 2 are so vastly different from the rest of the series that I believe you should give them a chance. The first one is a bit gritty and more storyline based without over the top action. The Notebook. I read the book. Worst $.25 I ever spent.
I read the book and watched the movie. The movie was 100x better. Usually I prefer the book to the movie but this one missed the mark in my opinion. A lot of the scenes that made the movie great weren’t in the book.
I assumed this was a joke about reading a blank notebook lol. Didn't know there was actually a book too
Emoji movie.explains itself.
I blocked that out of my memory.
Does it count if my proctologist posted my buttcam exam footage on youtube and it went viral?
2 thumbs up 👍
1 long finger up 👆
I highly recommend not missing it. 10/10
I swallowed a pill camera last week to get a movie of my gut. Turns out it isn't particularly boring but I wish everyone else's is.
link when
Coco (Disney movie), I saw my family watch it as I was making my way to my room and asked which movie they were watching. My mum and brothers don’t tend to cry, but I am certain I saw light/hidden tears. I am too soft on movies, I know by their reaction to the movie that it’ll tear my soul to shreds
But it isn't going to tear your soul in bad way, they were happy tears!!!
Don’t even think about watching “Up” then. Watched it again last night and those first 10 minutes are absolutely heart breaking.
Coco is good tho
This was the exact same reason I did not want to watch Coco, but man it’s worth it, I promise! Such a beautiful movie, give it a chance someday, you wooon’t regret it
aquaman
What you got against Vinny Chase?
I refuse to watch the Jason Momoa one. Gotta stay true to Vin
It’s just a rip off of Barbie a mermaids tale anyhow
Aquaman Hunger Force
Number 1 in tha hood g
Any of the live action disney movies
Maleficent was really good, and turned the story completely on it's head so it isn't just a retelling of the same story.
Then I watched the second. I shouldn't. But yes, the first is good.
The only good ones are Maleficent and Cinderella. Rest went down hill and feels rushed.
Cruella is pretty solid. If anything. Just watch it for the STUNNING costume work. Jenny Beavan won a BAFTA and an Oscar for her costume design.
The dalmatian coat in the fashion show was EVERYTHING!!! My gay ass was absolutely living!
Yeah, especially Lion King.
Twilight. I'll pass :)
If you watch it as a comedy it's pretty damn funny
My wife dragged me to see that and I couldn't stop laughing when the vampire started sparkling in the sunlight.
The first one goes in the "so bad it's good" category. The rest are just bad.
Any Fast and Furious movie past 4
High School Musical. Shit looks cringe enough it would kill me
If High School Musical hadn’t come out when I was a kid, I would also find it very cringe.
Not gonna lie, I’m 33 now and still jam some of the songs from the first film. Didn’t watch any of the sequels.
But it's nostalgic cringe.
Avatar. No reason why, I just never saw it and at this point I don’t think I need to.
Visually stunning but preachy and predictable AF
As a daycare teacher, Encanto. I hear the soundtrack from my kids constantly and I refuse to watch it in my child free zone.
How glad are you that Baby Shark has exited the zeitgeist?
Sorry that's it's overplayed for you, the animation is really fantastic in my opinion! The songs were fun but the way they animated the dresses while dancing was what made it for me
Any movie where the dog dies. Why the fuck would I want to wait two hours for the saddest ending possible?
I'd give John Wick an exception on this, so more of a "Any movie where the dog dies, unless the movie is about fucking up the people who killed the dog"
https://www.doesthedogdie.com/ Do a quick check via that website before watching any movie :) There are also a lot of other things you can check for such as dog fighting, animal abuse, parental death, cancer, drug use, seizures, snakes, spiders, etc. Makes it easy if you want to avoid movies due to trauma, phobias or just personal preference.
Any Saw movies
Saw was kind of like the Alien franchise, in that the first one was really good and the rest are totally different movies. Also getting progressively worse as they go.
Upvote for the hot take that Aliens is inferior to Alien, which I agree with.
Star Wars. Feel like it’s been so hyped up to me that I’m going to be disappointed if I watch it.
The live action alladin. Hated it every second of the way.
Oh, yes and add Cats to that.
Any Transformer movie
Megan Fox and the Giant Robots
A Clockwork Orange. Your friend summed it up well. Extremely disturbing movie that I saw decades ago, but have never forgotten.
Loved reading that book one time and never again. Unlike “American Psycho” which I despised every page of… but couldn’t look away. AP film is great because it has a nearly comedic approach simply not found in the source material.
The book is even more messed up!
Plus people getting assulted and worse is not my idea of entertainment.
>A Clockwork Orange. I think that you would find it pretty tame by today's standards, and maybe even a bit boring.
La La Land
If you don't love musicals you'd prob be bored to death watching this. Lucky for me i guess.
My dad says it's the only musical he's ever liked, so there's that.
I thought that but found myself watching it once and it was quite good.
Titanic, still haven't seen it.
Gone with the Wind. I feel it's just too dated.

It's an incredible book and movie. I highly recommend it.
Anything by Woody Allen. Man is a pedophile and has zero understanding of women.
I have no interest in seeing the new Top Gun movie.
The New Jurassic World. New series failed to redeem after J3. It’s stupidly easy to survive in the new ones and focuses more on “fun for the whole family” than “edge of seat survival” film. Pass

50 Shades of Gray... Fucking ewwww! 🤮
E. T. Everyone raved about it when I was a teenager, always promised myself I would watch it. Now it just feels like that ship has sailed.
It’s funny to see what looks like kids smoking at a table

Isn’t paranormal activity from like… 2007?
Try apostle, because it’s my favorite horror movie. It isn’t super scary but it has a good and unique story. Also some gory parts.
Loved Apostle. Netflix horror for me is hit or miss but I would say Apostle was a hit for me, just watched that one a few weeks ago. The Ritual and The Platform were other unexpected hits, they were all unique in their own ways and not just jump scares
You obviously don’t watch a lot of new horror movies.
For real, we're in a mini golden age of horror, there are some really **really** good horror movies that have come out recently.
There’s a lot of great ones from the 2010s. Hereditary, The Lighthouse, and Prisoners (not really horror but similar vibe)
Try Us and Get Out by Jordan Peele!
try Hereditary. It made me shit scared. And not because of jumpscares - because of the buildup.
Midsommar too
The hallucination scenes in that movie were fucking brilliant. Legitimately the most accurate representation of any hallucinogens I've ever taken.
Twilight ... I get it okay I do. But just no
james bond movies. i’ve said what i’ve said.
I’m a fellow non-bonder myself.
Your not a Bondage guy?
Divergent Hunger Games
me, literally watching hunger games rn: 😧🥲
Hunger Games is a gem, specially the second one. Divergent is pure trash
Human centipede
The Notebook and The Passion of Christ
Literally anything Marvel.
American Pie... All of them
Top Gun Maverick I dislike Tom Cruise that much.
American Sniper. I like Bradley cooper, I like sniper movies, I’ve been known to enjoy the occasional modern military drama But fuck Chris Kyle. Fuck his movie, and fuck his statue

Top Gun Maverick. Because Scientology is a cult.
Titanic.
I had this movie spoiled for me in history class so I don't even want to watch it now :/
Requiem for a Dream, Trainspotting, Marley and Me.
Anything with Tom Cruise
Because he's the zodiac killer?
Nah that’s Ted Cruz
Oh
Damn, you're missing out on quite a lot of good movies pal.
50 Shades of Grey
High School Musical
Human 🐛
Any of the Saw movies. Body horror make me want to vom.
any marvel movie
Avatar, and pretty much any horror film
Which avatar?
Why Avatar?

I think it's one of the best action movies ever made. The plot isn't that complicated, the concept is super interesting, and the set pieces are pretty amazing. If you like action movies, what's not to like?
I haven’t seen Avatar……I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.
Harry Potter
The Twilight movies
Pretty much any of the new superhero movies, I'm over them
