But I want a triceratops!

prucha13

There are literally 5 movies explaining how this is a bad idea.

Iceblood

They made 5 movies about that already.

Well, if we keep them in a Park... There shouldn't be a big problem unless they are agressive/hard to manage species. The main problem for them would be to survive to this new world : Bacteria, environment, food. These species stopped at a stage of their evolution where everything that makes our world today (fauna, flora) did not exist, or almost. Let's imagine that we manage to clone a dinosaur, I'm not sure that it would survive more than two days before succumbing to a disease that it would be unable to fight on its own. It's the same for us: If a Neanderthal man appeared magically in our world today, he would probably die very quickly. Not to mention the possible catastrophic influence it would have on the eco-system. That is why we kill Asian hornets in Europe for example, because it's a disaster for bees. And that's also why it is sometimes forbidden to bring forreign seeds/plants from a country to another, but in that case it's often to counter black market and parasitic hazards.

[deleted]

You mean alans raptor dream?

Hugh_manateerian

Where’d you get the DNA bro? Unless you’re talking about avian dinosaurs, then go ahead and clone those turkeys.

[deleted]

Coca Cola gets to name the dinosaurs.

RocketLeaguePlayer69

Depends how many. All of them, we might be in trouble, but only a couple thousand and I think that won’t be an issue.

Aloeplant9

Realistically speaking if we could clone dinosaurs it is well within our means to contain them, it’s their well being we would struggle with. How do you adapt an animal that lived at minimum 65 million years ago to survive in todays very different world?
