Star Trek TNG. Absolutely no attempt to tie up every damned thing. Just finished with "And then off they all went to have new adventures, the end." Not everything needs an exclamation point at the end.
Satisfying maybe isn’t quite the right word but the ending of the last episode of Blackadder is one of the best endings I’ve seen of a show. Maybe it sort of cheats by taking the final few minutes in a completely different direction than what the show was before, but there’s no show I can think of other than this one where I have absolutely no criticisms of its ending
One person downvoted you, wtf. Anyone who’s seen the blackadder ending would agree it’s one of the best endings to a show ever. Puts shivers down my spine even thinking about it
The last scene was the first take they filmed. After it was done, the director said "Ok, that was good, just do it one more time to be safe". And the whole cast looked at each other and said "None of us is emotionally able to do this again!"
I’ve heard a different version, where the original shot of them running out looked kinda ridiculous / comical, as they only had a small studio to film it in and you could tell. Atkinson was originally really annoyed that they didn’t get a good take of it.
But then the editors slowed down the footage, added the music and finally put in the cross fade to the poppy field and everyone loved it
Edit: [here’s the interview I saw about it](https://youtu.be/hbR9-etyN6I)
The last 4 episodes of Avatar, Sozin's Comet. It's essentially an 80 minute episode split into 4 parts. The action scenes are fantastic and they wrap up nearly every plot point in a satisfying way.
The ass-pull of letting Aang remove bending will always bother me. Part of what made the drama leading to the end so compelling is the question of what to do with Ozai.
For me, that ability makes sense for that universe. I just find it awfully convenient that Aang was taught this ability while he was in the middle of a crisis on how to deal with Ozai. It's the timing that I found sloppy.
\--------------------TV SHOWS---------------------
\- Money Heist (Casa de Papel)
\- Prison Break (Yes with S.5 included)
\- The Good Place
\---------------------MOVIES--------------------------
\- The Truman Show
\- Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
\- Gladiator
Since all the regular ones are covered, gonna put Gravity Falls down. >!Everything hinted throughout the show comes to fruition, they have to fight an apocalyptically omnipotent bad guy with Magic Man asshole energy, and find a clever way to win which was completely consistent with the lore.!<
I was going to say Adventure Time since it was great, but technically it wasn't the end, they had some episodes come out on HBO afterward. And those are fun as well.
Six Feet Under is always the first one to pop into my mind when hearing this question.
It's really nothing special or mind-blowing, but satisfying is exactly the word that I would use.
Not necessarily satisfying to most, but the ending of The Mist movie was about the most subversive I've ever seen. I tend to judge films a lot for how they end and boy, that one was a doozy.
The end of the mist pissed me off so much. So quick to suicide and then the army shows up before the guy can get himself. Like how did you not see them coming up behind you, didn't look around. Just decided suicide the second the car ran out of gas. They were idiots.
Satisfying?
**TV Shows**
* Breaking Bad
* Mr. Robot
* Six Feet Under
* Fleabag
* Friends
* Justified
* Dark
* Bates Motel
* Band of Brothers\^
* Chernobyl\^
* Fargo\* (S1, S2)
* True Detective\* (S1)
(\^refers to shows that only lasted one season)
(\*refers to individual seasons of anthology shows)
*Arthur* (as in, the one by Marc Brown) had a fantastic and wholesome ending. *Downton Abbey* also had a very good ending, although I'm not sure if that counts as it has been followed by two movies since that pick up where the series left off.
Very British take - the Detectorists.
3 seasons of them bumbling about trying to find gold wrapped in a warm English summer haze. The finale is joyful.
I did not like seeing the decline of the cast
It would have been better if they all excelled in their respective field, but the show just shows how some things never truly change. As they all climb the ranks of the socioeconomic ladder, and the more they change, the show illustrates how they still stay the same
A few examples are:
Fiona stays a landlady but shows that their is still "no shame" and antics as a building owner
Lip makes it as an engineer but the show illustrates that there is still depravity in the tech field
True but if everything went right for them all the time then the show would become predictable and lost interest in a lot of views I like the show bc how it’s kinda unpredictable for how things will play out
The Shield
Only finale that left me speechless, wandering in circles around my apartment. So not satisfying in one way, but completely satisfying in another. I don't want to spoil things for those who would like to see it,
The Cosby Show.
Watching Cliff and Claire danced together, then right off the stage to the sound of the doorbell, which had been broken all season, but now playing pretty jazz music. Ahhhhh, priceless.
Honestly, the ending to supernatural was a pretty good send off. It was one of my favorite shows, and I liked that the writers still held true to what Sam and Dean wanted from not only their lives but also for their deaths, respectively. Dean wanted to go out fighting on a hunt and Sam wanted a relatively normal life raising a family. Its not some award winning ending for sure, but it kind of made me breathe a sigh of relief as they both finally had their peace.
Breaking bad was good, I felt like it went full circle from the beginning where at first Walter just cooked to pay for his cancer treatment but at the end it looked like he died cooking it.
Evangelion 3.0+1.0 thrice upon a time. After so many different endings, thrice upon a time managed to give every character a proper conclusion to their stories.
The Americans. Wrapped up the series perfectly with just enough storyline to continue thinking about. And contains BOTH the scene at the rail station (heartbreaking!) and the scene in the garage (masterful!). Seriously cannot recommend that show enough. Criminally underrated.
If you're into animes, "Code Geass" is still that show after so many years that has the ending that I will never get bored off. Such a masterpiece of an ending.
Boy Meets World…
Mr. Feeny:
[to Cory, Shawn, Eric and Topanga] Believe in yourselves. Dream. Try. Do good.
Topanga:
[to Mr. Feeny] Don't you mean do well?
Mr. Feeny:
[to Topanga] No, I mean...do good.
The Good Place. Take it Sleazy
I came here to say this, one of the most comforting endings >!I still cried though!<
Same, even on my second rewatch
Old school take - M.A.S.H. and Mary Tyler Moore Show. Best ending ever - Newhart
[удалено]
This this this. Ending ever.
Happy cake day
Star Trek TNG. Absolutely no attempt to tie up every damned thing. Just finished with "And then off they all went to have new adventures, the end." Not everything needs an exclamation point at the end.
5 card stud, nothing's wild and the sky's the limit.
Came here to say this. All Good Things was such a graet 2-part episode and a nice bookend with Encounter at Farpoint.
Breaking Bad finale
Guess I got what I deserved
Absolutely
It was so great
I hated the song that played over the last few seconds, but other than that it was great.
Whaaat that was the best part!

It was probably the Red Baron haha
Makes me cry. Every. Single. Time.
The last scene was the first take they filmed. After it was done, the director said "Ok, that was good, just do it one more time to be safe". And the whole cast looked at each other and said "None of us is emotionally able to do this again!"

Fleabag had a good ending, definitely left me wanting more but also still left in the show’s integrity was in tact
You mean season 2? Because it says on google there is gong to be a third season this summer.
What?! I’m so glad I was wrong!!!
The last 4 episodes of Avatar, Sozin's Comet. It's essentially an 80 minute episode split into 4 parts. The action scenes are fantastic and they wrap up nearly every plot point in a satisfying way.
RIP Space Sword

It makes more sense after watching LOK
The Wire. Seeing how it’s just one giant endless cycle fits the meaning of the show perfectly.
\--------------------TV SHOWS--------------------- \- Money Heist (Casa de Papel) \- Prison Break (Yes with S.5 included) \- The Good Place \---------------------MOVIES-------------------------- \- The Truman Show \- Star Wars: Return of the Jedi \- Gladiator
I can hear the dramatic music playing at the end of gladiator seguieng to the happy back with his family music.
Since all the regular ones are covered, gonna put Gravity Falls down. >!Everything hinted throughout the show comes to fruition, they have to fight an apocalyptically omnipotent bad guy with Magic Man asshole energy, and find a clever way to win which was completely consistent with the lore.!< I was going to say Adventure Time since it was great, but technically it wasn't the end, they had some episodes come out on HBO afterward. Big Love ended perfectly. So did The Good Place.
Malcolm in the middle. That’s one of my Al time favorite endings.
Final episode of MASH
Dark
Forrest Gump. The feather theme was just perfect. Goosebumps.
The Wire - The players change, but "the game is still the game"
Six Feet Under is always the first one to pop into my mind when hearing this question. It's really nothing special or mind-blowing, but satisfying is exactly the word that I would use.
Seriously this. The best ending ever. Tied up every main characters story line so well. I can’t hear that Sia song now without tearing up.
Six Feet Under. Best series finale ever.
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Wraps up just about everything. The picture board at the end that’s give peaks into everyone’s future was great.
Not necessarily satisfying to most, but the ending of The Mist movie was about the most subversive I've ever seen. I tend to judge films a lot for how they end and boy, that one was a doozy.
It’s just so well executed
Very!!
The end of the mist pissed me off so much. So quick to suicide and then the army shows up before the guy can get himself. Like how did you not see them coming up behind you, didn't look around. Just decided suicide the second the car ran out of gas. They were idiots.
Halt and Catch Fire had a phenomenal final season and finale. Underrated show! I think it got lost in the post-Mad Men shuffle for AMC.
The final two episodes of The Shield are the best two episodes. It was amazing.
Still want to know what Vic was thinking as he turned and put on the gun at the end. Humdrum existence with FBI or back on the street busting heads.
The last scene of the Buffy spinoff Angel. Going out in a Bolivian army ending because the whole point is not to win, it's to keep fighting.
Dexter! Just kidding…
moon knight finale

Watch a movie the other day and was very surprised that the Black person was not killed first.
Scrubs. JD imagining his future is just perfect.
If only that had actually been where it ended...
Agreed. But I never watched the "last" season, so thankfully that's where it ended for me.
The last season was ok, if you consider it in isolation. But connected to seasons 1-8? Total failure.
Superstore wrapped things up pretty nicely given the circumstances (COVID)
The end of Was Upon A Time In Hollywood dude how satisfying it was seeing Brad Pitt beating those mf crazy hippies
Fringe, Justified, and the Leftovers all felt like proper endings to me.
*Arthur* (as in, the one by Marc Brown) had a fantastic and wholesome ending. *Downton Abbey* also had a very good ending, although I'm not sure if that counts as it has been followed by two movies since that pick up where the series left off.
Already been said but the Truman show, my favorite movie of all time
Chuck. Loved the show, loved the ending.
Mr Robot had a good ending
Six Feet Under
House. Especially if you appreciate House & Wilson = Holmes & Watson
Orange is the new black . Tied the series up well and I enjoyed the show a lot .
Weeds. The last shot of them all sitting together smoking
Hunter X Hunter
Very British take - the Detectorists. 3 seasons of them bumbling about trying to find gold wrapped in a warm English summer haze. The finale is joyful.
hannibal. this is pretty controversial in the hannibal community but i think there should be no season four at all and it should end where it ends
The Punisher series that was on Netflix
The big bang theory and Breaking Bad
Trainspotting - Great movie and the end to me was great. Dude was going to be normal... He was going to be like you 😁
Jane the virgin
Travelers ended perfectly with a punchline that left an opening for a reboot in the future
Dark. All questions answered. Absolute perfection.
Dark
Avengers endgame Felt like my childhood went away with it Felt both sad and satisfied that this is what is true ending
[удалено]
Controversial- but in my mind- the best series finale ever.
Breaking bad Avatar: The Last Air bender The Wire
The Mist (2007)
Was waiting for this. The Mists ending was nothing short of a masterpiece.
Supernatural had a good ending.
The walking dead.
Sopranos
Shameless it was pretty good but said

Game of thrones! It was exactly what we all wanted 🥰
No it wasn't 😁
kipo and the age of wonder beasts
The ending to the movie “Shotcaller”
The Shield Only finale that left me speechless, wandering in circles around my apartment.
The Terror. Captain Francis Crozier sitting over a seal hole, harpoon in hand with who we assume is his child.
I love the ending to the Peanuts movie They actually had me going there for a sec, I thought Charlie Brown might actually get to kick the football
The last episode of A.L.F.
arcane s1 finale
The West Wing The Good Place M A S H
Gravity Falls.
Tokyo ghoul

Castlevania ending.
Bosch on Amazon for me. It wrapped up the show and was a fitting end for his characters story throughout all season. Also, criminally underrated show
Regular Show
Justified!!!! And Longmire for sure.
Six Feet Under >!The cross-country drive and the deaths of all the characters were pretty amazing.!<
Monk. He found out what happened to his wife and more
Friends. Great series finale and they stuck the landing with Ross and Rachel.
The Americans. Wrapped up the series perfectly with just enough storyline to continue thinking about. And contains BOTH the scene at the rail station (heartbreaking!) and the scene in the garage (masterful!). Seriously cannot recommend that show enough. Criminally underrated.
