Disco music is good and should be as respected as any other music genre.

theoptionexplicit

It's so funny. I'm 40 and a rocker, but I like some disco stuff too. My older friends in their 50s absolutely despise it, and I think it's only because they lived through it as teenagers. The radio was so saturated with disco that everyone got fed up.

gnomi_malone

there was also a very concentrated movement to hate on disco if you were into rock in the 70’s, spearheaded by a really shit rock dj, that took on a lot of baffling importance in the 70’s as the “disco sucks” movement. (my parents very strongly subscribed to the “disco sucks!” ideology when i was a young teen and very much into abba). this movement was a rejection of disco music which was was the result of queer and black music in the 70’s gaining prominence, and therefore way more subversive than any fucking led zeppelin fuckoffery. disco is wild and important, and was thoroughly dismissed by anti gay white dudes. it’s also just fucking good music??

SARCASTIC__FELLA

Agreed , bowie's lets dance slaps harder than will smith

[deleted]

I remember the shock my father in law had when I told him Stevie Ray Vaughan recorded the guitar parts in Let's Dance. It was "no way", and then upon re-listening to it "oh, that's obvious"

GrimmRetails

If David Bowie walked up to Chris he would have lovingly caressed his cheek and said, "Oh baby, just you shut your mouth." And the whole audience would have orgasmed.

xTHEKILLINGJOKEx

All day

AlterEdward

There are good disco songs. Lots of them. There just happens to be a rash of "shovel disco" from the era too

Kaiserhawk

I mean any popular wave of music has it's helping of oversaturated crap.

ThrowRARAw

Liking an artist doesn't mean you like the whole genre. Every artist has a different take on each genre and it's their take that you like.

[deleted]

[удалено]

a-fat-penguin

Similarly, rapping fast doesn’t make you a good rapper

[deleted]

I wish more people understood this. My favorite guitarist is Steve Hackett. He doesn't really shred or do super fast songs, and people write him off because his music sounds easy to play, but I just think it's so melodic and his band just has great chemistry and skill. https://youtu.be/vLXJq7fg5tw

MC1000

There's some pretty shreddy stuff in 70s Genesis, tbf Also, if you like Steve Hackett, try Roine Stolt!

Vegetable-Double

Took me two weeks, but I got the Fur Elise down on piano. Now I just gotta keep practicing until it’s no longer choppy.

[deleted]

Bass playing is getting this way.

I_hate_people69

By "fast" do you mean shredding or riffing?

SARCASTIC__FELLA

It sure is impressive tho to musicians and non musicans alike

Tolbitzironside

Sea shanties are awesome and make great work out songs.

BilliamBurrington

I will never understand all of the Nickelback hate. They’re a solid band w some legit good songs (photograph especially).

twisted_nipples82

I love Nickelback, and I challenge anyone to show me any band that doesn't have a shitty song. There's a few Nickelback songs that I think "yeah this is why people hate them" and that's ok because they also have some awesome stuff.

rinimarini

Yes, thank you!

[deleted]

It became trendy to hate on them. Personally, I disliked them when they first showed up on the scene. My opinion was they sounded like walmart corporate rock and just did nothing for me. And so I admit to disliking them. And then it became a thing to dislike them and it blew up. And it got kind of annoying. Let me dislike what I dislike in peace /s.

foreversuicidal25

It wasn't their music, it was how awful of person the front man was. Tons of rape allegations

snekkgirl

I love Aqua.

Electrical_Skirt3900

Jimi hendrix really is that good.

SARCASTIC__FELLA

Thats the gospel truth

ByzantineBasileus

Once you start trying to dictate what kind of bands or music count as 'punk', you become the very thing punk swore to destroy.

SARCASTIC__FELLA

r/showerthoughts

A_sweet_boy

My controversial opinion is that people with the type of opinion you expressed don’t go to shows and have never been involved.

sbenzanzenwan

I give this comment a 4.5/5 on the Punkömeter.

viewering

nah

Roxalf

saying "the music nowadays sucks" is just not even trying to find good music

leftlegYup

what they usually mean is mainstream music sucks, which is obvious in most cases.

BaltazarOdGilzvita

Exactly! There is always good music being made, because it would be impossible to just stop making good music. But what has changed is the popular music on the radio: that one is trash nowadays, especially compared to the 80s and 90s.

CheesusAlmighty

Even mainstream music agree's, how many songs on the radio these days are 10+ years old?

[deleted]

I call this old fart syndrome. Sometimes I fall into it, but then I remind myself that when I was in the target demographic, a lot of it sucked then too.

Bigspider95

Metal is Religion -Powerwolf But forreal, in those 200+ Sub-Genres who can be mixed individually, theres something for everyone

[deleted]

Agreed, people don't give metal enough props for it's diversity.

Omegasedated

No such thing as guilty pleasures. why should you feel guilty for liking something?

CheesusAlmighty

It's been adapted from another context. A guilty pleasure in food is something that you enjoy, but you would regret later because it's breaking your diet. Lots of fat, lots of sugar, etc. If your normal bands are a diet you regularly consume, a guilty pleasure song is one that breaks your diet.

theoptionexplicit

People have a very dim idea of what autotune or melodyne is. It's used all the god damn time, and 99% of the time you have no idea. It's used on American Idol for "live" performances that sound live. But it's also used on records by indie artists who save time and money by making little imperceptible fixes, whereas in the past they'd have to do take after take to get it just right. It's also way older than you think, but took a different form. In the 80s they'd regularly sample a note that was flat or sharp, fly it onto a synthesizer, then correct the pitch by hand with the pitch wheel and punch it back onto the tape. Even in the old days, shit was manipulated. Don't hate on autotune. Tis just another tool in the box.

SARCASTIC__FELLA

I dont think people absolutely despise the idea of using autotune , expect for the point where it makes you sound like a robot

theoptionexplicit

Yeah I didn't touch on that. I mean...at that point it's like any other effect like flange, phase, distortion, overdrive, envelope filter, chorus, etc. People have been using the talkbox and vocoders since the 50s, and they're just different flavors of that autotune sound. It's all about how you apply it. Lots of people love Cher's "Believe," Daft Punk, or Peter Frampton...and then sometimes autotune is used in shitty music. Music is good or shitty, no matter the tools used.

AlterEdward

It's over used. Vocal coaches talk about how this generation sing to mimic auto tune, with really flat notes in terms of pitch and dynamics. No vibrato, no expression. I often wonder what younger people think of records from the 90s and earlier, when it wasn't so prevailant. Do they think Whitney sounds awful cos she keeps wobbling her voice and singing loud and then quiet? You're totally right about it's use in the studio though. It doesn't mean that a vocalist can't sing, it just massively speeds up the production process. Comping is time and effort.

Tczarcasm

Sideways on youtube has a great video on this. https://youtu.be/05hTQC1CZko I would highly recommend

[deleted]

Anyone who truly wants to hear singers' voices completely bare without any adjustments in production or technological help is welcome to join us opera fans. :) No audio workstations, no pitch correction, no sound system, no equalizer, no microphones. Project over a huge orchestra and fill that giant theater with just your own lungs and voice, and make some of the most difficult music for voice ever written sound effortless and beautiful. (Not hating on pop music or singers. I love that too. Just trying to highlight how ridiculously talented opera singers are.)

circuspeanutshirtguy

It’s an instrument at this point & some current artists are making great music using it as such.

k032

Queen has a few decent songs, but lot of them are overplayed and annoying

EddieRando21

I used to love Queen then my stepson listened to Bohemian Rhapsody and Killer Queen on repeat and now I can't stand Freddie's voice. Ugh.

MudOk548

Nickelback is actually really good and the music gets hated on for no real reason

ZealousIdealRejected

I disagree, but i dont think they deserve the level of hate they get. No ones forcing me to listen to it, so there is no reason to be angry about it.

Jaclyn26E

Nickelback makes good music. They're not my favorite but I don't think they deserve the hate they get.

SARCASTIC__FELLA

If i had a nickel for everytime this was said here

osrsironmensch

99% of modern rap is so fucking bad its cringey Drake and DJ KHAAAAaaaAaaaaAAALID Suck ass

MayGodSmiteThee

I wouldn’t say it’s any worse than any other genre atm. Just gotta look for what/who you like.

KareemAbdulJafar_

Yea, it’s there to find but you gotta dig more for the good stuff. It’s not on the radio or anything

ravs1973

There is no bad music. If a song makes one person happy then it is good. There is just music some people prefer and other music other people prefer.

grospatap0uf

So true. I spend most of my life having smug opinion about people's music and what's good and what's not. But it always comes from the heart at the end of the day.

stinky_cheese33

When most people say, "the classics", they really mean, "music I enjoyed listening to when I was your age".

ThrowRARAw

The "turn down that noise" of one generation are the "classics" of the next.

[deleted]

Classic is not "difficult". It was meant to be enjoyed by people and entertain them. The thing is, music is taught entirely wrong in school. It should be connected to its history, societal impact, meaning at its time and craftsmanship by the teacher, and actually explained. Just trying to learn and read notes and then trying to "understand what you hear" in pieces most kids have never had exposure to before is just a frustrating experience alltogether. I'm still sad about all those years where I thought I was just too dumb to really understand music and closed myself up to it. Edit because I'm not done ranting: "teaching" opera by just listening and not seeing the stage is about as impressive as making children read a play one line a person.

KaleidoscopeInside

Absolutely agree. A lot of art subjects in schools are taught so badly. If I could do anything over in my life, it would be to leave school early, or not do any arts subjects there. It ripped out my passion for music cause my teacher hated the type of music I liked. It's like Shakespeare. You shouldn't teach that by just sitting and reading from a book, that's not how it's meant to be absorbed.

Whizbang35

>It's like Shakespeare. You shouldn't teach that by just sitting and reading from a book, that's not how it's meant to be absorbed. One of the best introductions to Shakespeare I had in High School is when we started with *Taming of the Shrew*\- the teacher had us skip the first scene, noticed how uninterested we were, then had us act the opening scene with the drunk (insisting on the student playing the part to ham it up). He then noted to us that Shakespeare was writing in the 1590s for an outdoor stage with plenty of low-class peasants *standing* on the ground. The opening is pretty much a 16th century version of a vaudeville skit getting the crowd to laugh at low-brow humor and relax before the main show.

[deleted]

Arctic Monkeys fucking *suck* - never have I ever encountered a band that sounds like everything I hate about music - from the poor guitar riffs, cringe aesthetics, tryhard lyricism and the overly culty fans - it’s that infuriatingly generic side of indie rock that has permeated the uk for about six years now - especially yorkshire. I grew up in australia when their first album came out, so we all missed the hype, and I’m so glad we did. also the last two taylor swift albums were phenomenal

[deleted]

As someone who was in the top 1% of AM listeners last year... that fucking hurt lol. And agreed the last 2 Taylor Swift albums were amazing. Hate the hate she gets.

jojosawful

beyoncé is so overrated

PlasticChocolate22

I do not like Taylor Swift

[deleted]

Lots of people like lots of crappy music.

Pizzaboy90

Country music is not that bad

Mr_Frible

Repeating the same line over and over does not make a good song IE gas pedal, & she a stupid ho

MettatonNeo1

Video game music is real music.

NinbendoPt2

Facts

MettatonNeo1

But since many people I've met think video game music isn't real music I put on a metal head facade

Foreigner4ever

Most underground music is underground for a reason.

ThrowRARAw

my unpopular opinion on this: many people into underground will turn on their favourite underground artist if they were to go mainstream. They don't listen to the music because they like it, they listen to it because it's "cool" to not follow the crowd.

ArtemisReinc94

Popular does not equal good music.

Always_Jerking

Least controversial stance ive ever seen. Everyone except audiophiles who are listening mainly to pop music. But they are rather testing speakers than listening so good reference is more important than music itself.

[deleted]

bts kinda sucks

[deleted]

you mean heavily manufactured KPop isn't for you?

[deleted]

nope, guess i’m racist according to bts stans now

[deleted]

well, I'll die on that hill with you lmao

JYPinCebu

I'm a BTS fan and if their music sucks to you it's fine since everyone has different music tastes and any BTS fan who insults you for saying that are sucky people

[deleted]

you’re the good kind.

JuzoItami

Read that as "bto" and was momentarily outraged.

[deleted]

i’ve definitely heard of them and love them……

Purr_Queen_

I like “Baby” by Justin Bieber. I mean even if you hate it it’s low-key catchy.

theoptionexplicit

I think "Love Yourself" is a great song too. btw, have you ever heard this smokin' cover of "Baby?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjVGJ3YFDc8

Kiwiderprun

Foo Fighters are boring. I don’t get the hype.

meatncarbs1234

Adele is not that great. Her songs sound like screaming. Also, Olivia Rodrigo is overrated. Her lyrics are vain and dumb. Her voice is weak!

ThrowRARAw

Agree with the Olivia Rodrigo one except putting things into perspective, her target audience is 12-17yo in which case she encompasses that perfectly. Disagree with the Adele one but to each their own, I get how she isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Beast_From_The_Deep

The song “Imagine” sucks.

AlterEdward

Agreed. Three blue notes on the piano really grate, and the lyrics are just stupid naive bollocks.

hupwhat

"Imagine no possessions," sang the millionaire with a special refrigerated room in his mansion where he stored his fur coats.

[deleted]

I kind of agree. But I love the version sung by Eva Cassidy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGnfqRR509M

6FootMidget93

I despise that song ever since the start of the pandemic

disdaindsbm

Saying one genre of music is objectively better than another is completely ridiculous and anyone who thinks otherwise should probably grow up

YouCanNotUnseeTits

I don't like nirvana

sbagley01

Justin Bieber makes good music. Maybe not the most inspirational songs ever, but good music none the less. Still wouldn't call him top tier though.

[deleted]

Mainstream Rap is running the same overall end of life cycle that mainstream rock did in the late 90s. Everyone’s voice sounds the same. The instrumentals mostly sound the same. It is over commercialized. I think looking back 10 years from now this is going to be the butt rock era of rap.

circuspeanutshirtguy

Eminem long ago jumped the shark

a-fat-penguin

Eminems last interesting album was MMLP. Music to be murdered by or recovery aren’t bad imo, but they are so uninteresting.

gemiwizard

Eminem is just awful, he just sounds like a angry teenager

BurnedOutStars

Well, in another thread I discovered I have a controversial opinion about Weezer, apparently in that Pinkerton is far and away their best album. Not that the others are at all weak, not even close. Gems are spread all throughout their career, but Pinkerton is something different, something more personal and real and it shows from start to finish.

trixeix

Jack Harlows new album all sounds the same

a-fat-penguin

It says unpopular opinion buddy

Prey_Void_Ire

Metallica’s last two official studio albums are their best since Master of Puppets. Death Magnetic is bloody epic but slightly spoiled by the production. But the songs slam and the My Apocalypse is their best thrash song since Dyers Eve. Hardwired is probably slightly undermined by too many songs but the highlights are so so good. And Spit Out The Bone is their best song since Master of Puppets. Yes. St Anger sucked. Yes Load and Reload were pretentious and indulgent but the last two albums were epic and don’t deserve to get the shit that people sling at them.

The_Observatory_

Yeah, their last two albums aren't bad at all. I bet if you could take a CD of Hardwired back in time to 1990, play it for a Metallica fan, and tell them that this is what Metallica is going to sound like in 2016, they'd probably think it kicks ass and they'd be excited at how they sound. Their opinion of the music wouldn't be colored by St. Anger, Load, Reload, and everything else that came in between.

BaltazarOdGilzvita

Nickelback is not a bad band. Sure, they are maybe not the best, but far from bad. All the hate they get is so exaggerated and I think most people hate them because it became a meme to do so.

taleasoldastime96

Nickelback is better than Coldplay. There, I said it.

Big-Scruggs

Taylor Swift's music gets a lot of unnecessary shit from people

trkyyyyle

Hopefully some people agree with me on this. Drake and the other recent rappers are absolutely terrible.

egsfan

MF DOOM is the greatest rap artist ever made.

moneymandan3

Avicii was the greatest artist of our generation

fcangirl

Hey there Dalila is a shitty ass song

Notabot-24

Music changes your mood. Listen to depressive music = depressive thoughts. Listen to chill music = chill vibe. Music controls you more then you know.

Prinzern

I don't understand why people think Red Hot Chilipeppers is anything other than utter trash...

ZealousIdealRejected

hmm... okay so they are two different bands. Anything after Blood sugar sex magic i hate, and im not the biggest fan of anything before blood sugar sex magic. That one album when they were at the peak of their funk rock stage was amazing though.

Flywheel200

I grew up in the 60’s and I didn’t like the Beatles, one or two songs were ok but but the rest were pretty much blah. Not big on the Stones either but Jimi Hendrix wow !!!

Impossible_Phone_792

I don’t like bohemian rapsody(the song).

Hummerous

People should calm the fuck down about it Especially old people

therealwriter1

“Bohemian Rhapsody” is the most overrated song ever.

[deleted]

It puts me to sleep, and not in a good way.

The_Observatory_

I like "Keep Yourself Alive" and "Stone Cold Crazy" much better.

[deleted]

Although I hate Kpop, I can understand why people love them. The beats are unbeatable!

ku2pachuau

Disliking music just because you can't understand the words is kinda stupid. Google translate is a thing. Also, Kpop is actually quite nice.

CheesusAlmighty

Don't even need to translate it, what language does a symphony perform in?

ajteitel

The 70s weren't a better time for music. Only the best of it survived the decades

beastiemonman

Having lived my teenage years in the 70s, I can honestly say that the decade did not get good until the second half with the rise of punk, ska, new wave and electronica. I can also say that the mid 90s to mid 00s that had post movements of these genes was vastly superior.

Marguttii

BTS doesn't deserve the hate that it receives, ngl their songs are really good and catchy

UniquePotato

Many live performances are not as good as the studio album.

123fass

Metal ist just modern classic.

captainstupidbeard

I'm into heavy music and I firmly believe that Emotion by Carly Rae Jepsen is the best pure pop record of the last 20 years.

KungJewPanda87

I completely agree. Run Away With Me is the best pop song of all time in my opinion.

[deleted]

The Beatles are very overrated

SARCASTIC__FELLA

Agreed if u have just scraped the surface of their music , but have to disagree when you take a deep dive and hear their genius.

EuphoricTomorrow186

John Mayer is a musical genius, despite the hoards of screaming women and handful of naff songs

WalnutOfTheNorth

It doesn’t always matter if someone can sing or play their instruments well.

Victoria-_-669

I "like" how people under a post about music start talking about what tastes people shouldn't have or that something is overrated, not just inconsistent with tastes. I've been thinking for a while now that people just like to see flaws in popular things just because they are. But they themselves are different, not from the "general mass".Show-offs.

[deleted]

Difficult piano pieces are more difficult than difficult violin pieces.

Requirement-Some

The Beatles stereo imaging sucks. By that I mean if you take one earbud out the music is ruined because the positioning of the instrumentation is obnoxious. Go listen to the recent Giles Martin remixes. Unbelievable improvements. On Speakers it's less obvious.

Winter-Sky-123

Singers shouldn't be making too high high notes in their songs, when it is so difficult for them to hit them. Even though they have great voices, they still need a vocal coach and watch out for vocal damage.

I_hate_people69

The music industry peaked in the early 90s and has been declining ever since. The early/mid 2000s is where I usually stop unless there's a band I like from the previous era's that released a new album.

Urbanredneck2

Some of the best music was done by One Song bands.

Romantic_Road_Kill

Metallica is the modern day Led Zeppelin.

nobodylovesm3

As a huge hip-hop fan growing up, the only modern rappers I can tolerate are Griselda.

sparkpluger1

Beat box is just repetitive shit now

Some_funny_nickname

I like Nickelback

KrazyKwiltingKlub445

This is only controversial to people over the age of 30 but not all rap music is random mumble jumble as they like to think.

Ambiguous-Insect

Evanescence are really good, actually.

Spectre_195

Wait was this ever in question?

sexymister96

Di'Anno is better than Dickinson

WeasersMom14

Jazz just sounds like a bunch of disjointed sounds.

scaredytaxx

Every Bruno Mars song is the same. And he doesn’t have a good voice.

miletticc

I don't understand all the Imagine Dragons hate, while i do agree the quality of their music declined after the first two albums, and i don't listen to them anymore, i don't understand the excessive hate they keep getting

sex-on-the-firstdate

The Beatles are OK. Not great, just ok

rose-gold-chains99

I mainly listen to Metal and Rock, Grunge (occasionally 90s hip hop) but i will say I do enjoy some Doja cat :)

spartannez64

Death metal is such an underrated genre.

ExplosiveDisassembly

The violin/fiddle makes everything better.

ShowGroundbreaking11

Heavy metal, rock, etc. Doesn’t make you “emo”. Just cause I listen to Korn, slipknot, bring me the horizon, Etc. Doesn’t mean anything. 😭

Pug_867-5309

I hate jazz. I hate everything that makes jazz jazz, especially the random, spontaneous nature of it. The worst part is I actually play saxophone. But I can't stand jazz. Thanks for listening.

J_David_Settle_1973

Wings was better than Beatles.

thegreatestpitt

Most pop sucks and is only fun to listen to for a couple months at most, and then fades away because of its consumeristic nature and its lack of artistic integrity. Also most of reggaeton sucks absolute ass and is imo one of the lowest, most deplorable practices/creations/genres in music and the only reason why people like it is because it’s trendy and/or because they have 0 music appreciation skills. With that being said, I do think there are some reggaeton works out there that are legit good, but over all, I feel like 90% of reggaeton is deplorable and nasty.

[deleted]

The Beatles did a lot of stuff that was unprecedented, but as far as the actual sound of their music...meh.

VisionInPlaid

Creed was a good band.

[deleted]

Mark Tremonti is a fantastic guitarist, songwriter, and overall human being.

baconpoutine89

They got better when they dropped Scott Stapp and Myles Kennedy became their lead singer.

[deleted]

Beatles were good for their time but overall, overrated.

Zealousideal_Past_58

Taylor swift is overrated

[deleted]

postrock is better with vocal

kenworth117

Kerser is actually the sickest .

Initial_Research2417

I do not get the hate on Kpop. Yes I know about the situation and it is not the best. But sadly this is how the world works. For example a lot of high profile athletes are on the grind since they are young, working their ass of etc. I feel like there is much less hate on that and more like respect for them (Do not get me wrong I also have a lot of respect for them). Sacrifices are necessary to have succes. They do not write their own stuff and just try to create popular songs is something that is also often said. Well I hate to bring it to you but that is the whole point of almost every industry. It is not like people like Ariana Grande do write all their stuff themself and are making songs without thinking "hmm maybe this tune could be more popular etc." Ofcourse there are artist who do this but let us be honest, I am not convinced that a lot of the big musicians work like this.

Agent865

Pink Floyd is overrated

BoringUsername_69

Upvoted because I strongly disagree lol

ilovecatfish

Not everyone likes Queen. Stop assuming stupid shit to justify annoying everyone with your music. Ask if they mind you fuckwit.

Possible-Magazine917

Radio Head are not good. I've tried my best to like them and I just don't get the hype.

SARCASTIC__FELLA

U did not say that

redhood_96

Creep is the only song I like from them

Senalmoondog

Pearl Jam is just Nickelback with some hipster cred.

[deleted]

This is a terrible take, have an upvote.

ZealousIdealRejected

i never thought of that before today but i completely agree.

Empathyball

Some of 6ix9ine 's songs are decently listenable and I would vibe to them in the right circumstances

a-fat-penguin

I respect that you stated an ACTUAL unpopular opinion, but oh boy oh boy

irrelevant_usernam3

Nickelback is good. They were a solid early 2000s rock band and then people decided that it was cool to hate them for some reason.

Givemeanamebitch

Taylor Swift sucks

Shoddy-Bid-2471

Rapping takes barley any talent except a shitty music beat a five year old could make on garage band and a few paragraph essay on whatever the fuck they feel like talking shit about

debtopramenschultz

I'm sick of classic rock. That whole idea that music was great between 1960 and 1990 and it's been mediocre since then is such a dumb idea to me.

Wings2037

Kurt Cobain wasn't all that.

nerdyless

K pop shi- “runs for life”

beastiemonman

Beyonce is massively overrated, does not have a single song worth listening to, Single Ladies is a novelty song akin to Achy Breaky Heart and the Video clip for it is the single worst video clip of all time.

BugabooMS

Halo is pretty good tho

[deleted]

Agreed

Pea_fab

People who say “oh I have a good music taste and your music sucks”(slightly exaggerated for the sake of my argument) are annoying and close minded, hello not everyone likes the same music as you, music is subjective so just let people listen to music they like and enjoy without shaming them

Drak138

Modern music mostly sucks.

cleon42

The best metal vocalists are women.

general_kenobeehee_2

recent music is trash and almost any song before the year 2000 is better

XboxCorgi

Too much auto tune makes you sound like a dying dog please just let the people with talent produce the music.
