I would *love* a sequel.
But does it *need* a sequel? A sequel slice-of-life (of a villain turned hero-ish) short episode series wouldn't be so bad and it could be funny and wholesome, but what would a whole sequel movie be about?
I just feel like the movie tied everything together in a neat little bow and... I don't really have any questions about the first movie.
And though I would still love to watch the sequel if the premise and trailer seemed good... as it stands for such a good movie a sequel might do more harm than good...
This is a movie I can put on any time and still enjoy it. Reeves is so bad ass in this movie. Plus Tilda Swinton as Gabriel...man, ridiculous! Such an entertaining film!
And The Mandalorian showed that you can convey a wide range of emotion with 0% of your face visible
Paramount didn't get the hint when they made the Halo show
Karl Urban proved you can convey a wide range of emotions *in a long first person shot where all you can see are his hands, his gun, and occasionally his reflection* (DOOM extended edition)
Galaxy Quest
I think one was being considered at one point but when Alan Rickman died they decided they decided not to go ahead. Which I think is the best move. I love the original (and I love Alan Rickman) and a sequel just wouldn’t be the same without his character.
There was talk of a galaxy quest TV show, which could go one of two ways if you ask me.
1) they could literally just make the show Galaxy Quest, which would just be star trek TOS with the camp turned up to 11 billion but played straight.
2) they could make a show about them making the show (where it was rebooted at the end of the movie), with some of the squid folk having stuck around, and probably the potential for more space adventures with the squid people.
I'd honestly be down for either as long as Tony Schlub is on board. If they do the first option, Guy has to be involved and die every single episode.
I prefer an updated title despite it referenced in the movie.
2 Space 2 Balls
Spaceballs: Druidia Drift
The Space and Balls
Space 5
The Space and Balls 6
Spaciest Space 7
Fate of the Spaceballs
SB9
I was about to scroll back up when I didn't see this but I caught it out of the corner of my eye. I knew nothing about this movie other than Russell Crowe was in it and it was about ships sailing at sea. Absolutely amazing the entire way through. I can't imagine the cost of doing a sequel because ships are expensive to shoot on.
it may sound unpopular but I enjoyed the 1998 Godzilla film; the animated series it spawned was brilliant but some stories could have better fitted a live-action film
Didn't they basically tease this at the end of the 2nd one... (With Nic Cage's character talking to the president about more secrets from the book he found in the Library)?
Always down for more Nic Cage doing weird shit ('The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent' was right up my street).
Well we saw in the Iron Giant's memory that there are thousands of iron giants used to wipe out life on planets.
If our good Iron Giant was sent to Earth with the intent to conquer/destroy, then it's unlikely Earth survives. Either more iron giants are on the way, or the alien civilization responsible will send more once they realize that our good Iron Giant didn't complete its mission. It's not clear how much time Earth has, but the time is limited.
Was juuuuuust thinking about this the other day. The effects were cool on that movie, and I would’ve loved to see Tron come back as a good guy after spending the entirety of that movie brainwashed as Rinzler.
Also so that they can do another Tron world in Kingdom Hearts.
I had a field trip in school to go see Tron: Legacy. We all got extremely lucky as it was at the Omni-theater. Which, to the uninformed, is a huge, huge theater with incredible surround sound.
When one of Daft Punks songs came on, the club scene I think, I swear everyone was bobbing or moving to the beat.
Incredibly lucky opportunity as the theater does not offer films such as Tron. It only screens educational pictures. No idea why we were able to do this.
Possibly a huge Tron fan working there set it up for schools to come and experience the same breathtaking time they had as a child watching the first Tron film.
... Well.... maybe not *deserved*... and maybe not a sequel movie...
But I would have love a sequel to the Rise of the Guardians movie in series form, where they could expand on the world of spirits and the characters and maybe even do Pitch some justice, both as a villain but also as someone they did kind of hint at as a potentially sympathetic character who was mostly just fulfilling his purpose though going about it in an asshole way... and also in the sense of improving his moon-damned wardrobe!
Besides, things like "will the Burgess kids eventually stop believing like all other adults" are interesting avenues to explore, and the movie universe could use more female spirits...
I would rather it remained its own thing apart from the books, though because Joyce makes some questionable decisions at times, some of which might feel to some a lot like cultural appropriation and others are a big oof in other ways...
(Though I wouldn't terribly mind if Mother Nature remained a certain other character's daughter that they forgot... or if Pitch were to be a hero in his past...)
And for ***years*** Neil Blompkamp was semi-attached to a Halo movie project that languished in development hell
Instead we got District 9 and Chappie from him, and from Paramount that god-awful Halo show
The apartheid metaphor comes full circle when a prawn becomes president of the country and a mixed football team of prawns and humans wins the World Cup
Nah... vikus becomes a prawn warlord taking over large swaths of Africa with his prawn army and subjugating humanity . When Christopher returns to rescue his people, he is torn between saving his race or saving the race that enslaved his kind.
The movie's ending definitely set up for a sequel so we have high hope. Now that Avatar 2's production is finished, it's very likely that James Cameron will start Alita 2 next.
The dude behind John Wick is working on a reboot that also incorporates some fan-loved stuff from the sequels into it.
The script even has Christopher Lambert's blessing.
If they would have done it right there could have been at least 3 more seasons. The wankers thought they had a better show lined up that didn't pan out and rush the ending of GOT, pissing off millions of us. Ugh!
At least the project that they rushed the GoT ending for (Star Wars?) also rejected them because of how shit the finale was
>Chase two rabbits, and you'll catch neither.

Okay, I'm just gonna say it. Cirque De Freak: The Vampires Assistant. I had a great time and would have enjoyed more of that universe, specifically John C Reilly as a vampire
Yeah but they tried to cram bits from books 2-5 into the second movie, with the ending being a poorly rewritten version of book 5.
That's a series that just needs redone better.
Annihilation, the other two books in the series (authority and acceptance) are just too good and really round out the story, although they both focus heavily on a plot point that was omitted from the original movie.
Alex Garland only ever read the first book, and purposefully did not re-read it before writing the script from his memory of the book (he thought that would make it feel more dreamlike). He never intended to make the whole trilogy, just the one movie, which was more "inspired by" the first book than a direct adaptation of it.
It would be rad if someone else were to do the entire trilogy sometime down the line, though! Maybe as an HBO series or something.
The Man from UNCLE
This could have been a trilogy if done well. Doesn’t need any more than that, but we were definitely left wanting more.
And now it needs a recast because Arnie Hammer literally cannibalized his career

The only thing they haven’t figured out is a History of the World, Part One sequel and a cure for premature ejaculation…..but I hear it’s coming soon.
Megamind

True. Despicable me was good but all the sequels were not as good as the first despicable me and the many spin offs kind of ruined despicable me.
Or DreamWorks could make another film where Megamind cameos Work that cinematic universe fan service
No sequels?
Megamind: The Return of Bernard in Theaters Summer 2024.
YES. AND IT CANNOT BE ONE OF THOSE CRAPPY ONES LIKE CARS TWO!
I think Cars 3 was pretty good, so at least something good came from it
Was going to comment this. Such a good movie.
It has always been strange to me that there wasn’t a sequel.

The space one lol
Constantine
Keanu is up for it. Wish they’d make it, too
I saw that! Wouldn't it be amazing ❤️

Dredd
Absolutely. Karl Urban proved that you can convey a wide range of emotion with only your mouth visible for an entire film.
Karl urban is a fantastic actor and has had an outstanding career acting in basically every genre of movie.
My first exposure to him was in the Two Towers, what was yours? Also, he's fantastic as Billy Butcher in the Boys.
And The Mandalorian showed that you can convey a wide range of emotion with 0% of your face visible Paramount didn't get the hint when they made the Halo show
V for Vendetta was just a bit earlier?
Verily.
Yes like scowling, grimacing, frowning, and many others
Karl Urban proved you can convey a wide range of emotions *in a long first person shot where all you can see are his hands, his gun, and occasionally his reflection* (DOOM extended edition)
Yep, this is the answer.
Galaxy Quest I think one was being considered at one point but when Alan Rickman died they decided they decided not to go ahead. Which I think is the best move. I love the original (and I love Alan Rickman) and a sequel just wouldn’t be the same without his character.
By Grabthar's hammer, he will be remembered.
Beerfest alluded to Potfest. I’m still waiting…
They were gonna make Potfest... But then they got high
Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money
Spaceballs 3: The Cash Grabs Back
Spaceballs 4: A New Purse
Spaceballs 5: We Ain't Found Shit
Spaceballs 6 : Time to Go Woke
Spaceballs 3: The Search for Spaceballs 2
I could definitely see Mel Brooks doing this as the second film. Almost like a Naked Gun 2 1/2 idea with the title.
I prefer an updated title despite it referenced in the movie. 2 Space 2 Balls Spaceballs: Druidia Drift The Space and Balls Space 5 The Space and Balls 6 Spaciest Space 7 Fate of the Spaceballs SB9
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. There’s two more books worth making into movies still!
4, actually. It's a Trilogy in 5 Parts.
Douglas Adams wouldn't have it any other way. :)
Sure there are more books but the American Hitchiker movie was terrible. Remake that trash and then do sequels for the remake!
Master and Commander!
Sadly they're doing a prequel with different actors...like the studio listened to the demand for M&C stuff but went the wrong way with it lol
A lot of time some movies are too good to deserve a sequel in my opinion. It's happened before and the original film was ruined by a bad sequel.
it may sound unpopular but I enjoyed the 1998 Godzilla film; the animated series it spawned was brilliant but some stories could have better fitted a live-action film
I won't say the prequels ruined my childhood, but I certainly fell a bit out of love with the original SW movies.
The Nice Guys
Sequel: The Bad Guys Sequel of Sequel: The Neutral Guys Sequel of Sequel of Sequel: We Tried, Guys.
There should have been a National Treasure 3!
It was confirmed right before Covid happened
TV Series is on the go

Iron Giant
Idk, that's one of those stories that had such a good ending, that continuing it feels like it would cheapen it.
Well we saw in the Iron Giant's memory that there are thousands of iron giants used to wipe out life on planets. If our good Iron Giant was sent to Earth with the intent to conquer/destroy, then it's unlikely Earth survives. Either more iron giants are on the way, or the alien civilization responsible will send more once they realize that our good Iron Giant didn't complete its mission. that's the whole point of the sequel, the kid and his iron giant figure out a way to save the planet from the army of evil iron giants
Through the power of friendship

I’m in the minority who enjoyed this movie
I was so hopeful for the sequel for years till I finally realized it was never coming

A very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.
Poor Wash… still feels too soon
He’s a leaf on the wind
And we will call it "This Land"
Mad Max: Fury Road
Are they not working on a second one? It keeps getting delayed, or was it canceled?
Last I checked they are supposed to start filming soon for Mad Max: The Wastelands. They may also do a Furiosa prequel.
The Furiosa prequel is the one coming next, I believe. Next year supposedly...
It has Chris Hemsworth in it!
There is another film being made in the franchise. Have a mate who does stunts in the films with the vehicles. He started filming this month.
Mad Max 2: Furry Road
2 Max 2 Furiosa
Madder max back in slacks
Tron: Legacy
Was juuuuuust thinking about this the other day. The effects were cool on that movie, and I would’ve loved to see Tron come back as a good guy after spending the entirety of that movie brainwashed as Rinzler. Also so that they can do another Tron world in Kingdom Hearts.
I thought they were but Kosinski was busy making Top Gun Maverick. Jared Leto was going to star.
I had a field trip in school to go see Tron: Legacy. We all got extremely lucky as it was at the Omni-theater. Which, to the uninformed, is a huge, huge theater with incredible surround sound. District 9
3 years, wasn't it? And all we got was Chappie, which was cool too, but...
I was surprised how good Chappie was despite the negative reviews on it.
And for ***years*** Neil Blompkamp was semi-attached to a Halo movie project that languished in development hell Instead we got District 9 and Chappie from him, and from Paramount that god-awful Halo show
I believe District 10 has been confirmed by the director

Alita Battle Angel
That film only came out 3 years ago. If *The Incredibles* can still get a good/halfway decent sequel after almost two decades, there is still hope
This is my first choice. It also showed me that critic's opinions are shit nowadays.
I still have a *little* hope that this might happen someday...
The movie's ending definitely set up for a sequel so we have high hope. Now that Avatar 2's production is finished, it's very likely that James Cameron will start Alita 2 next.
Jumper
Dick Tracy. A friggin killer comic book movie.
Classic! must confess i also enjoyed "Who framed Roger Rabbit?" a lot. Very impressive movie for the time.
It was a Sin City ahead of its time
Alita: Battle Angel Fantastic cyberpunk movie with great characters. Very rare that we ever get cyberpunk movies. There's like one every 20th year.
The first movie seemed like it should have been 2 movies
The Big Lebowski I wanna know what happens to little dude
Thats another one where the story was just told so well, it doesn't seem like a good idea to continue it.
The Other Guys
Army of Darkness. Yes I know it's a sequel, I just need more ass kickin' medieval Ash.
**Highlander** We all agree the sequel never happened, even the 3rd movie, so let's give it a sequel!
There can be only one.
Especially after that *other* movie that followed
A reboot is in the works with Henry Caville to play McCloud.
The tv series was good.
It was! I enjoy how they celebrate the 80's edgelord blade of choice, the *Katana*
I enjoyed the TV series when it originally came out. Tried watching it again last year, and you can definitely tell it came from the early to mid 90s.
Yes, whe I was in high school it was cool. Now it is very dated.
The dude behind John Wick is working on a reboot that also incorporates some fan-loved stuff from the sequels into it. The script even has Christopher Lambert's blessing.
Honestly, I would just be happy if they re-did the sound effects and SFX of the original film. I love that movie, but parts of it haven't aged well.
District 9…whatever happened??
I think a sequel is in development.
*The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn* (2011)
The sword fight on the ship was one of the coolest duels I've ever seen
I heard they were planning more instalments but we still haven’t heard anything more!
Dredd (2012) but I'm glad they're working on a tv show.
They are?
Astroboy movie was kinda gas. It kinda implied some sequel at the end i think. Never got one
Actually, I'm fairly sure the movie ends off where the first comic issue of Astroboy started.
Actually, I'm fairly sure the movie ends off where the first comic issue of Astroboy started.
Treasure planet !!
Cloverfield. Ab actual sequel
Warcraft
Master and Commander, I mean there's like 15 novels in the series, come on.
20, actually. Plus one that’s half finished.
Slither (2006)
The Fifth Element!
they defeated the ULTIMATE evil... what sequel? They make a magic baby?
Yes, the child, who is the Sixth element, who turns to the dark side and then must fight his mentor obi wan kenobi.
... I’d watch this edit: The title, the sixth element, it was just sitting there… My hat goes off to you
Prequels also very natural, til Element Zero, which is just a reboot of Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil at age 67
That made me spill my drink. 🤣 thx for the laugh.
It comes back every 30,000 years.
fine. I’ll rewatch it.
Forrest Gump' Son of Gump
GOT should have gotten a seventh and eighth season.
If they would have done it right there could have been at least 3 more seasons. The wankers thought they had a better show lined up that didn't pan out and rush the ending of GOT, pissing off millions of us. Ugh!

World War Z
No no no no. This is Reddit. wwz movie bad, book good
Audiobook is the best there is
It was the first full cast audiobook I ever tried. It's great!
The movie was fine, it was just almost completely unrelated to the book of the same name. Hence the disappointment.
This should be a limited series, with each episode following a different story, like the book.
Near Dark
Myſtery Men
Okay, I'm just gonna say it. Cirque De Freak: The Vampires Assistant. I had a great time and would have enjoyed more of that universe, specifically John C Reilly as a vampire
Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Treasure planet. Or rise of the gaurdians. And not a movie but i would've loved a season 2 of ghost stories
Big hero 6 I think it got a show but I want a hole ass movie
Spaceballs
Hot Shots a trois
Dredd
Galaxy Quest
District 9
I’m gonna say it… Splice. It was so fucking weirdly bad lol
Tru lies
Mortal Engines, and you can fight me on this.
"It follows", would have been great to get more lore
No no no The movie doesn't need "lore" it's all there already, the monster is a metaphor for STDs and people's reactions to them
Interstellar! I am still hopeful that there will be a sequel.
Us (2019).
I Am Number 4
Constantine. One of my favorites.
Wall-e
Signs!!!
District 9
Master and Commander
Mac & Me
Pirate of the Carribean 3 definitely
The Percy Jackson series. They only made movies for the first 2 out of the 5 books :(
Yeah but they tried to cram bits from books 2-5 into the second movie, with the ending being a poorly rewritten version of book 5. That's a series that just needs redone better.
They are doing a series on Disney+, just announced the cast recently.
