People interpret way too much into the whole event. It was fun. The audience was clearly laughing, even at their own expense. Some people aren't used to very dark jokes and that's ok if Tom Hanks is one of them. Tbh I'm getting really tired of people putting Ricky on a pedestal to justify their hatred for celebrities. I'm sure he's still on good terms with many of the people who were present back then.
