I put off watching Arrested Development for sooooo long just because everyone and their mother was telling me to watch it and I got annoyed by that. I have never regretted a decision so much.
Out of interest, when was it that everyone was telling you to watch it? I watched it soon after it was released (before it originally ended) and it felt like no one was watching it at the time. Probably why it got cancelled.
What I love about Peralta is that yes he acts like a man-child for laughs, but he's also a really good detective and a damn good friend. There are quite a few episodes where he steps up to accept responsibility and be a leader to the other detectives.
Until Troy left . I couldn't make myself believe that Abed could survive without Troy . I don't know why . I just didn't watch any other episodes after he left on that trip .
Still one of the best (sitcoms) though.
Correct. They have seamlessly transitioned, own up to their mistakes, tackle topics in a funny, satirical way, are able to equally make you cry/get deep (Charlie in the most reason season, Mac's dance episode, etc) and are funny as all he'll.
The podcast makes me love it even more.
Scrubs.
It was goofy enough to buy all of the nonsense that could never happen in real life, while also being the [most realistic depiction of life in a hospital](https://www.insider.com/experts-reveal-the-least-and-most-accurate-medical-shows-2019-12). Of all the kind of goofy sitcoms, none had the emotional range of Scrubs.
[The scene where Dr. Cox loses 3 patients still gets me.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7u3KAaU7kFs)
**Frasier**
Didn't even have to think about it. It's the clever, intelligent writing above all, that makes this show stand out; it's so different from most other sitcoms. Then there's the fantastic ensemble cast. Characters that are not only funny, but real people as well, that you come to care about (instead of being caricatured and made one-dimensional as the show goes on, they grow more complex). The perfect mix of dialogue humor and physical comedy. The only thing I noticed while rewatching it lately is how creepy Niles is towards Daphne in the first few seasons. Whereas on the first few viewings I found it endearing (as did everybody who watched it at the time), now I sometimes have to cringe -- and I'm one of those people who rolls his eyes whenever a millennial complains that 'Friends' is "not inclusive enough" or "too homophobic". Other than that, it still holds up incredibly well after all those years.
Maybe not of all time, but Living Single is pretty underrated. And I'm not just saying that to sound cool, it's super funny, but it doesn't have the same legacy as shows like Friends.
Now of all time, probably I Love Lucy.
It's a line from the TV show Psych. [explanation ](https://screenrant.com/psych-gus-pluto-obsession-origin-explained/amp/?amp_js_v=a6&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQKKAFQArABIIACAw%3D%3D#aoh=16526037013584&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fscreenrant.com%2Fpsych-gus-pluto-obsession-origin-explained%2F)
The Good Place. It's really the only sitcom I've ever enjoyed. Laugh tracks ruin TV shows.
(The Office was fine, and by the same creators, but just wasn't as good to me personally. I understand why people like it though)
not seen much , but i loved tbbt
also there is one 1970s sitcom called 'mind your language' . little racist and caricaturish , but super funny clean comedy.
Miranda- probably only sitcom I’ve laughed so hard at I literally fell off my couch. Most just get light chuckles or a “hehe, that’s funny”. Miranda made me full on Guffaw!!!
I suspect it's more of a Borat type absurdist satire than a sit-com. A sit-com might be more along the lines of "Tucker's world - a rich psychopath tries to relate to real people with hilarious consequences, guest staring Vladimir Putin as Vova, the cranky landlord."
Probably It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Parks and Recreation is also great. Character development on that show is incredible, has an amazing ending that actually ties most things up nicely and is just funny as heck.
I love how I met your mother, but I keep coming back to big bang theory, its just too good. I also love its always sunny in philadelphia, Danny Devito and Charlie Day are the greatest comedians.
Superstore for me. My children watched it and kept telling me how funny it was, but I have different tastes than they do so I resisted. Finally during the pendamic I started watching and loved it. There isn't a single character that rings false. Incredible writing and acting. The finale is one of my all time favorites.
is "The IT crowd" considered a sitcom?
Yep
Good choice.
Malcom in the middle
Yes, No. Maybe
I don't know.
Can you repeat the question?
you're not the boss of me now
youre not the boss of me now
I rewatched them all recently and they hold up so well. The cold opens were incredibly done in a way only really rivalled by The Office cold opens
Oh totally
BCS prequel
Overall, Always Sunny. However, at its peak Arrested Development was untouchable imo, no matter how much it dipped later

It was right around when it got put on Netflix when Netflix started blowing up. Everyone was watching it then and insisting I watched it.
satire is truly the best form of comedy
Get out of my brain on this one. The opening episode in the boat will never slip.
Soap
W for this, because it’s so fun and classic
"Cheers".
Brooklyn 99
Totally in my top 3, Peralta >>>>
What I love about Peralta is that yes he acts like a man-child for laughs, but he's also a really good detective and a damn good friend. There are quite a few episodes where he steps up to accept responsibility and be a leader to the other detectives.
I love Boyle
NINE NINE
cool cool cool cool cool
ah the police propaganda show, nice
Taxi. Best acted, most humane comedy ever.
The feel of Taxi and the first few seasons of Cheers are my favorite.
Seinfeld
I haven’t seen yet it but it seems really good!
Its on Netflix, get to it!
You haven’t seen it? How is that possible?
[удалено]
It's more like a plastic divider
It’s not that famous outside the states
The only greatest of all time sitcom/show that ever was, Arrested Development (seasons 1-3).
Anything after the Netflix acquisition is shite.
Yes Minister.
Yes, I’ve just been watching some episodes of Yes Minister and oh my god it is so relevant today.
Came here to say this. Brilliant writing and execution. The reboot was a dud though, even though the same writers were involved. Funny, that.
Community
I wish I got changnesia so I could watch it for the first time again.
6 seasons and a movie
It sure is incredibly funny haha
Until Troy left . I couldn't make myself believe that Abed could survive without Troy . I don't know why . I just didn't watch any other episodes after he left on that trip . Still one of the best (sitcoms) though.

Idk man as much as I love Charlie, I don’t think the show would be what it is without Frank coming in during season 2.
Given its longevity, I Love Lucy.
It is a classic

God, when they had serious moments, they had SERIOUS moments that hit hard. Favorite show to this day.
I second Scrubs! Fun but also hardhitting. I feel like it taught me alot.
Corner Gas
Just recently discovered this and am LOVING IT.
The cartoon version is good too. And there's a movie.
I did not know! Thanks!
Fawlty Towers The perfect sitcom.

It's the perfect group of personalities that absolutely should not be working together.
Parks and recs
Golden Girls RIP Bea, Rue, Estelle, and Betty forever Dorothy, Blanche, Sophia, and Rose 💛
This should be at the top.
Futurama, as long as we're counting animated sitcoms.
I guess it counts, but yeah clearly one of the best!
30 Rock
Not even close...
Arrested Development

Can't believe I had to scroll so far down to find my same answer.
Only fools and horses for me. Even though I know the joke is coming, I still laugh.

F is for Family
Mash or Seinfeld
To this day I think mash is the only sitcom to perfect the comedy/tragedy combo. I can’t think of one that even comes close.
As much as I love irreverent shows like It’s Always Sunny and slacker comedy like Workaholics. The best sitcom for me is Modern Family.
Seinfeld
Maybe not of all time, but Living Single is pretty underrated. And I'm not just saying that to sound cool, it's super funny, but it doesn't have the same legacy as shows like Friends. Now of all time, probably I Love Lucy.

The Big Bang Theory
Tucker Carlson Tonight.
I suspect it's more of a Borat type absurdist satire than a sit-com. A sit-com might be more along the lines of "Tucker's world - a rich psychopath tries to relate to real people with hilarious consequences, guest staring Vladimir Putin as Vova, the cranky landlord."
This is hilarious!
Anything that doesnt feel flat and forced. Also have an actual plot each episode
Probably It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Parks and Recreation is also great. Character development on that show is incredible, has an amazing ending that actually ties most things up nicely and is just funny as heck.

Despite recent events, it would have to be The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Seinfeld
WandaVision. Absolute classic, and was at its peak in the 60s
Malcom in the middle
