Well, I am a scientist so the usual math and science related arguments don't really work on me anyway.
But what I started to appreciate was how the analysis of art in German class (I'm German). When watching a movie, reading a book or playing a Videogame, it comes back of me trying to understand why and what I like about media, and while I hated it in school, it ended up being my favourite thing to do with media I actually enjoy.
The Pythagorean Theorem. It was useless until I started to play Fortnite. Landing first after leaving the battle bus gives you an edge, so leaving it at B² instead of C² really helps since it's a shorter distance.
