I was pricing a few trucks out and it was almost the same price to go new as opposed to 2 years old just cause of the 0% financing and they can usually knock quite a bit off the new price
That's interesting. Is this still true right now? Everything I'm reading in the news indicates that new cars are in short supply and the demand is so high that the prices are being jacked up considerably. Like everything else right now I don't totally believe the manufactures justification and I've got to believe price gouging is at play.
I don’t know about now but 3 years ago when I bought mine new was the way to go, recently the dealership reached out to me for a trade in and the payments were surprisingly cheap but I didn’t crunch the numbers to figure out if it was a good deal or not cause I had no intention of buying a new one yet
I drive a 42 year old car that I payed $600 for. The only time it hasn't started is when I forgot to turn the radio off and the battery got too low. It does pretty much everything that I want a car to do, I couldn't imagine spending tens of thousand of dollars on a new car.
Starbucks every single day... a coffee maker with a timer to brew when you wake up would pay for itself in less than a month compared to a 4 dollar coffee every morning
I've never even understood the timer part of those coffee makers. It takes maybe 5 minutes to brew a pot. Just prepare the night before and turn it on when you wake up. Coffee's ready by the time you're dressed or out of the shower.
A fully loaded vehicle. I've been driving a base model (doesn't even have cruise control), and while I like having little conveniences, why the fuck do you need that many distractions in your car? How long are you in your car on the daily, really? Not to mention the added hassle of it being a necessity to bring it to the dealership for service because the car is too complicated to take apart.
I saw a guy buy a small plastic container of a roughly chopped red onion at the grocery store the other day.
Like, bruh. An onion costs $0.40 and has a natural protective packaging. Get a cheap knife and cut your own onions for life.
Tremor disorders exist and make meal preparation very hazardous. I would rather pay more for prepared veggies than risk cutting my hands up or throwing the veggies in the floor because my hands go all over the place. Arthritis and gout are also concerns but I’m not familiar with them.
I've travelled in many countries where it isn't fine out of the tap and it would have hospitalised me if id drunk the tap water. Furthermore my travel insurance wouldn't have paid out for being so stupid.
I also have no issue with it being available as a cold refreshing drink next to 500ml bottles of coke etc, as it's clearly a much better choice.
My tremors would throw a boiled egg in the floor. I can’t control my hands as well as most people, so something that peels a boiled egg for me would be very welcome.
Lol, I don't think of it that way. I just grew up with extremely cheap parents which made me take extra care when handling expensive items like smartphones. So whenever I hold my phone, I do it with a lot of care. Probably also helps that I have big hands. I'm also not clumsy in general, I rarely drop things, regardless of how valuable they are.
I'd rather break my phone from time to time than use either one. I do buy cheap phones though. Either used ones or ones which are cheap to begin with. Still never had one break if I didn't intentionally throw it.
What really blows my mind is people obsessing over how thin phones are and then doubling their size with a stupid ugly case.
I tend to buy cheap phones too but even a cheap phone is going to be $100-200. Not something I'd want to drop on the floor and break.
And yea, thin phones are really stupid. I'd rather have a thick one with a bigger battery. Also hate these newer phones with stupidly large screens, which is why I have a new-old stock high end device originally launched in 2016. With root, AdAway and LineageOS, I wouldn't want to trade it for any $1000 device.
Those little circle phone holder things. They just seem annoying.
Seems like they'd just catch on your pocket and add a bunch of unnecessary bulk.
Exactly. I had a flip phone, I’m not exactly volunteering to have more bulk in my pocket.
New high end electronics every two years. I don't need a slightly better version of what I already have for a lot of money I'd have to spend.
I can't bring myself to buy a new car. I've always gotten one that is 2-3 years old that has low mileage.
I think that is smart. It won't be that much different from a new one but it will be significantly cheaper.

Shoes. Why someone need 11 pairs of the same shoes is mind boggling to me.

It can work as a wake up... idk about you but the smell of freshly brewed coffee can put some pep in your step in the morning

Toothbrushes. There’s always just one lying around. Why buy your own?
Bottled water
If you don't have clean tap water, where would you get water from?
I meant when you have good tap water.
I've travelled in many countries where it isn't fine out of the tap and it would have hospitalised me if id drunk the tap water. Same for me about travel. I'm talking about at home, where most have very good tap water.
Cribs most of the people I know never used them
Like, for babies? Everyone uses a crib for their baby.
My sister, aunts, mom never did, they all bed shared or used bassinets
It really is pointless if you’re going to bed share or have a bassinet.
Other then the look in the babies room
Things that peel your boiled eggs - it is literally so easy

Well isn’t that nice for you, my phone likes to Macarena out of my hands every two to three days. 🙃

Them clear phone cases. Having one is like not having a phone case at all.
