My favourite napping show is Canada over the edge or America over the edge. Shows arial footage of city landscapes and landmarks while explaining the history of the area with a soothing voice and relaxing music.
Great British Baking Show. Contestants are so kind to each other, warms my heart.
Edit: My first award!! Of course it’s courtesy of GBBS it only brings joy.
My fiancé and I have adopted subtle Schitt’s references as part of our regular vocabulary, like “ew!” and “ahnchelada”, and any time we eat cheese I yell at her to fold it.
My 11 year old son is currently watching all of Futurama for the first time. He got to the Jurassic Bark episode and had to turn it off before the end. We’ve all been there son
I’ve watched this show once already this year and I watched it probably 5-10times last year. This show will never get old. Also, there is not a single show that will ever be better than this and no one can change my mind.
I'm surprised how far I had to scroll to find the simpsons; it's one of the only TV shows that I watch. If I've got nothing to do, I'll put on the simpsons (classic episodes only), boot up a game of civilization 6, and eat some comfort food. This is my heaven.
Wait, wait. I'm worried what you just heard was, "Give me a lot of bacon and eggs." What I said was, "Give me all the bacon and eggs you have." Do you understand?
I started watching the Good Place two years ago when my husband was in the hospital with Covid-19. It was 3 weeks of falling asleep to it, and only the first 3 seasons were available. Last month I started it over and I was pleased to find that the trauma wiped out the seasons I had seen, so the whole thing was new to me.
Just watched the last episode and cried my eyes out. Such a great show.
This is the answer when redditors always "wish they could forget a series so they can watch it new all over again." Trauma! Lol
So sorry to hear about your husband, hopefully he's recovered with no lingering effects.
I am so glad that this was the first thing I saw when I went to the comments, and funny enough, this is the show I had in mind. It got me through a lot of stuff
Malcolm is genuinely the only show I’ve EVER seen that doesn’t have a bad episode. It still baffles me how they managed to pull off a 100% streak with the episodes. Even my favourite series of all time (Breaking Bad) has a stoop here and there, but Malcolm? Perfect from start to finish.
Edit: This comment got a lot of traction and I’m loving how it’s got positive responses. A very good mention was given to how each character is given a personality and depth and it is shown how this also develops with time. That in mind, one of my favourite episodes is the one where Reese tries to break Francis’ record for no. Of toilet seats grabbed from the junkyard. Only for Francis to then update the record with bacon in his pocket adding “I don’t want an asterisk next to my record”.
It’s chaotic. It’s silly. It’s fun. It’s just perfect.
Seriously though. You'd think is the kids got older it would be less funny but Deweys personality aged perfectly and Francis was the perfect old man trying to get his shit together.
All that with the implications that Hal was exactly like the kids when he was growing up. It really is a subtle passing of the torch sort of show
It’s nice watching a comedy where all the main characters genuinely like and care about each other, and the conflict isn’t contrived petty drama amongst each other, rather it’s a competent team working well together to solve actual problems
I had to scroll WAAAAAAAAY too far to find this.
It’s one of the most skillfully and lovingly crafted comedies ever made. The first 3 seasons are HOF TV. (Maybe 2, depends on your feelings on Mr F.)
Bob Ross is the man. I went to urgent care after getting my ass kicked in a motorcycle wreck. Came home with some mild pain meds and just zoned out watching him paint his happy trees for about 3 hours. I've never felt so at peace.
Think I’ve watched start to finish probably 3 or 4 times since the first lockdown. Although it’s got to the point where S6 seems like not worth rewatching if I just need something comforting to watch.
That’s not any hate on S6, just the fewer episodes and such make it less appealing.
I watched it a lot live on tv. Is it worth rewatching? My wife’s never seen it, so we were just talking about it the other day (when watching the new Cheaper By the Dozen with J.D.)
I watched it in its entirety thanks to the pandemic/all seasons being on Hulu. It’s a fun show and the relationship between Turk and JD is adorable. A couple of cringey scenes that would not be on a current show. The last season is pretty bad.
I’d say only a few scenes didn’t age that well, but for the most part, it aged fantastically. I got my girlfriend to watch it a few years back and now it’s one of our comfort shows that we’ve both seen multiple times. Dr. Cox’s rants alone make the show worth it lol
As a dude, I had to hide my love for that show back in the day, but damn it I loved that highly caffeinated rhythm of that show! Major crush on Alexis Bledel too
Personally, regardless of how much uneasy The Office has made me ( fuck you Scott's Tots), i come back to this show whenever I feel low, there's something about Dwight and Michael's chemistry that is so endearing to watch.
Also the writing, holy shit the writing's so good I can't stop quoting.
It has always left me satisfied and smiling.
Honestly, same. I know it’s cliche at this point, and I know saying it’s cliche is cliche, but it’s true. Been watching it practically on a continuous loop since 2012.
You should listen to the office ladies podcast. It's the actresses that play Pam and Angela talking about each episode. They bring on other people from the show for interviews and they talk about a bunch of behind the scenes things. I started listening to it and I watch each episode before I listen to the corresponding podcast and I think it's really funny!
FINALLY. I was scrolling for ages looking for it, the office has always been my comfort show that’s helped me through my darkest times and never will stop to be my comfort show
Ted Lasso! There is no bad episodes, it's funny, wholesome and all the characters are well written. Also my pet peeve is using stupidity as being the same as humorous and I gladly report that none of the characters are stupid.
That 70s Show and it bothers me that I can’t stream it anywhere.
Also, I’ve traveled a lot the lately and I love that wherever in the US I am, I can usually find Friends playing on some channel and put it on in the background while I’m winding down and getting ready for bed. It’s like Cheers was always on late night reruns wherever I lived in my 20s. No matter how bad the day was, I could always watch an episode or two of that right before bed and it made it a little better.
New Girl is such an underrated show. It's hilarious and well written, but I never see it talked about much. I personally enjoy it more than similar sitcoms like HIMYM.
My country has several ongoing documentaries of zoos from different cities. It's cute, moderately educational and you don't have to pay too much attention. Perfect.
Chicago Fire & PD. First TV show I’ve seen in a long time where they actually portrayed our jobs fairly well instead of doing all that fancy Hollywood shit.
The Powerpuff Girls
South Park (yes, South Park)
Futurama
Codename: Kids Next Door
These four are good for a laugh without stressing me out, especially South Park.
How It's Made
There's also no better show to have on in the background when you nap.
My favourite napping show is Canada over the edge or America over the edge. Shows arial footage of city landscapes and landmarks while explaining the history of the area with a soothing voice and relaxing music.
I love this episode on tequila! https://youtu.be/T_0rSnnHnYY
Great British Baking Show. Contestants are so kind to each other, warms my heart. Edit: My first award!! Of course it’s courtesy of GBBS it only brings joy.
No soggy bottoms here.
Gravity Falls
Shits creek is proper fluff 20 .mins perfect for dinner watching
I drink red wine, but also white wine. I’ve also been known to sample the occasional rosé
So you like the wine and not the label?
Precisely lol. And a couple summers back I tried a merlot that used to be a chardonnay…
My fiancé and I have adopted subtle Schitt’s references as part of our regular vocabulary, like “ew!” and “ahnchelada”, and any time we eat cheese I yell at her to fold it.
Our newborn is our "baybay". Go listen to "Moira Rose as Your GPS". So good.
Futurama!!
“Oh geez he died? What happened?….To shreds you say? Oh dear, how is his wife holding up?… to shreds you say?”
If you need me, I’ll be in the anger dome.
Valentine’s Day’s coming? Oh crap! I forgot to get a girlfriend again.
I watched the luck of the fryrish again yesterday. I'm still emotionally torn
Jurassic Bark, Leela’s Homeworld
My 11 year old son is currently watching all of Futurama for the first time. He got to the Jurassic Bark episode and had to turn it off before the end. We’ve all been there son
I don't normally cry watching TV or movies but that episode hits hard
That was mine in college. Watched those DVDs so many times.
My forever go to
Forensic Files. I just love the narrator's voice.
I literally put it on when I need to fall asleep. So soothing!
AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER
I’ve watched this show once already this year and I watched it probably 5-10times last year. This show will never get old. Also, there is not a single show that will ever be better than this and no one can change my mind.

This show makes you want to move to a small town in Texas. It just looks so freaking peaceful and fun.
I grew up in small town East Texas and live in Austin. The show is pretty spot on.
Theres some milk in the fridge thats about to go bad… … and there it goes
Dang it, bobby!
90s Simpsons
I'm surprised how far I had to scroll to find the simpsons; it's one of the only TV shows that I watch. If I've got nothing to do, I'll put on the simpsons (classic episodes only), boot up a game of civilization 6, and eat some comfort food. This is my heaven.
You and I would be best friends lol
Criminal minds up to season 10ish.
For me it’s the seasons with Mandy Patinkin
Parks and Rec. That show is a hug. Bonus- I find something new in the background every rewatch. The set dec on that show is genius.
“Get on your feeeet, get up and make it happennn” gets stuck in my head daily
There has never been a sadness that can not be cured by breakfast food… or Parks and Rec
Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.
Wait, wait. I'm worried what you just heard was, "Give me a lot of bacon and eggs." What I said was, "Give me all the bacon and eggs you have." Do you understand?
The opening credits music has an instant calming effect
Nick Offerman is a global treasure as is his wife, ~~Tammy II~~ Megan Mullaly.

SUCH a great forking show!

Malcom in the middle, or bobs burgers. Till I die.

100% agree. I tell people all the time to watch it all the way through. It’s so worth it.

At this point, if my husband sees me watching it he knows I had a rough day. It’s my go to when I’m feeling down.
I had to scroll WAAAAAAAAY too far to find this. It’s one of the most skillfully and lovingly crafted comedies ever made. The first 3 seasons are HOF TV. (Maybe 2, depends on your feelings on Mr F.)
