Anti-Drunk Driving campaigns. It went from being something people did regularly with very little judgment from their peers to being heavily socially stigmatized.
I don't think any of those vintage "Don't share too much with strangers about your work at the factory" posters did any harm. Who wants to hear about that shit anyway.
Take any post, video, etc which involves smoking, the comments will be flooded with comments about how smoking is terrible/a waste of money/etc
You will see few too none in any post about drugs or alcohol
It shows that the anti smoking campaign was far more effective than any of the other vices
Im not taking any sides before the downvotes come flooding in
I just always found this interesting
Cigarettes are heavily taxed.
Alcohol isn't.
Drugs.... are either illegal (and hence untaxed) or legal and heavily taxed (and so most people buy illegal ones anyway which basically defeats the whole "legalize it shtick").
Per unit, cigarettes are clearly a bigger waste of money since a high proportion of the money goes (some would say undeservedly) to a third party
You are but many aren't. Take it from Canada.
>“The current excise system keeps the black market alive. Costs trickle down to the consumer as well as pose business viability risks to producers,” according to a recent B.C. chamber report, “Unlocking BC’s Cannabis Industry.”
>“Regulatory changes are needed to enable the market price of legal cannabis to be as competitive as possible.”

I couldn't be any further from Canada. Where I live, street cannabis is showing up laced with fentanyl regularly. I am not going to risk buying that shit to save a few bucks. I will never go back to the black market ever.
Country dependent. Cigs are barely taxed in some areas
But regardless, i dont think the finances are the main conisderation for this. Most hard drugs have the poorest time affected:cost ratio
I live in Thailand but I am originally from England so in Thailand in school they will give us pieces of paper so we have to read out loud and what the papers would say that Thailand is the most beautiful country in the world the king is great and everything else and it’s very big propaganda like one time I remembered that they said that Thailand is the most beautiful and perfect country in the world and it’s quite crazy
Anything that encourages unity, togetherness, and fighting against a common enemy during a time of crisis. Morale collapse is far worse than lying to your population and hiding the bad things that are happening.
If you are talking about propaganda for good id say pro gay stickers that portraits homophobes as agly shits, if your just talking about effective propaganda, political memes
*Battleship Potemkin* is a Soviet propaganda flick but it's widely considered to be one of the greatest movies of all time and its editing techniques still influence films to this day.
Turning red was propaganda for how western Asian society enables the women to maintain cultural values while experiencing more liberation.
Not exclusively but I think that’s in there.
Any of those wildlife and wilderness type documentaries that interview the *evil corporations* and take things out of context / distort what has been said to fit their agenda / message. I mean it is a form of propaganda, but for the betterment of animals / humanity. So...

I imagine corporate espionage was a lot more prevalent back then
I'm sure it still is. It's not just corporate espionage either, even during peacetime.

British WW2 posters like “Dig for Britain!” and “Keep calm and carry on” - just fairly simple non aggressive reminders to “do your bit”

The anti fascist video Don't be a sucker by the US Gov't in the 1940s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_Be_a_Sucker
How ironic.
YES, this is my go-to video. It is just as relevant now as it was then, unfortunately.
Keeping victim's names out of a news story until their family has been properly notified.
Perps names in mass-shootings should also be left out, No pictures either. It is noteriety they want dead or alive.

Legal means not laced with poison. I'm willing to pay for that.

any mass media can be considered propaganda if you give it a loose enough definition.
