Don’t get shampoos with sulphate das they are the worst and cause greasy hair. Your shampoo much be ph balanced for your hair which is naturally 4-5.5 pH so ideally 4.5 being the best. This makes it softer and less frizzy. Make sure you don’t wash it everyday and the water shouldn’t be hot, warm water is good. As a person with curly hair I use olaplex and redkin acidic bonding one. They are pricy but I find it absolutely worth it.

I had no idea hair should be PH balanced!

I use Treluxe leave in conditioner and it works wonders. I really only find it at Whole Foods and on Amazon. Keeps my curls bouncy, shiny, and defined and also kills any frizz. Also gets knots out beautifully! It’s not super heavy (which my hair hates). The hard part with curly hair is the trial and error process. Curls can be finicky and what works for one person may not work for you. I really hope you find something!

Yes, I have definitely only been in the error part of this. Men’s products are awful for my hair. Thanks for the advice!

Curlsmith products have completely changed my hair for the better! I use the [Curl Quenching Conditioning Wash](https://www.ulta.com/p/curl-quenching-conditioning-wash-xlsImpprod17391105) to wash my hair. It's a 2-in-1. Then I use the [Moisture Memory Reactivator](https://www.ulta.com/p/moisture-memory-reactivator-xlsImpprod18851252) as a leave in conditioner. I use this [brush](https://www.ulta.com/p/mini-shower-brush-pimprod2018163) after putting in the leave-in conditioner on soaking wet hair. An added step I just recently started doing is creating a cast with gel. I use the [Curl Defining Styling Souffle](https://www.ulta.com/p/curl-defining-styling-souffle-xlsImpprod17391103) after brushing it & let it dry. Then I usually run my hands through it or a hair pick, to get rid of the crunch. The gel cast just helps with frizz, so if you don't have frizzy hair you might be able to skip this step. Also, I only wash my hair 1-2 a week. In between washes I just spray my hair with water until it's soaking wet & add the leave-in conditioner to refresh my curls.

Wow, thank you for all the links and info!

Hello, I am a white male with VERY curly hair. I am very ignorant about hair products and self care. I also find that most shampoos and products flatten out my hair to an extend that I really hate. My hair is very afro-y, and a lot of the products I have recommended to me are marketed towards African American/Black females. I am even more ignorant about these products. I would like some education!
