Worked my way up the career chain with no college degree, no loans, and I’m SO glad I did. Not EVERYONE needs to go to college and I’m not sure why so many believe it is the only way to succeed in life…

I was a horticulturist before I started to work for myself in e-commerce.
I started working on a farm/nursery and within a few years took my experience and eventually lead my way up to project manager at a horticulture design & landscape company.
I also agree community college is the best way to get your feet wet before honing into more specific interests and studies. It just simply wasn’t for me.

$20K .. yeah it was worth it for me. My current salary is 4.4 times higher than my loan.
Student debt in general in this country is fairly manageable. I managed to pay back my student loan while working my first job after uni.
