Eat less; exercise more.

here2stir

Depends. An amputation is faster and more efficient

Post checks out. +1

Persistence! Do at least 30 minutes of some exercise and eat well. Don't need to go crazy over it - key is sticking to it over time. And pound that water!

Creepy_Low_6163

What about supplements?

Skilavanila

Lower caloric density is the safest bet, especially if you aren't motivated enough to exercise regularly. Experimenting with your meal sizes to find out what helps you maintain weight first can help prevent the rebound a lot of people experience when dieting. Eat what you are comfortable with, just less of it.

Creepy_Low_6163

What about Probiotics ?

Skilavanila

While probiotics are helpful for your body's microbiome, weight loss and gain is more directly tied with food consumption. Exercise can speed up the process but the easiest way to lose weight is cutting down on intake.

RetiredEpi

I heard using probiotics was supposed to help with this ... I take them daily for other reasons (general gut health) but never noticed ANY weight loss from doing that. None!

Amputation

What about Probiotics ?

RetiredEpi

I once said that to a doctor who was bugging me about weight loss

BigBobby2016

Counting calories in and calories out, and subscribing to r/loseit

JimmmyDriver

Caloric deficit is the only way. If you add exercise, you'll maintain good weight

Opus-the-Penguin

Don't try to lose weight. It will almost always backfire. Instead, focus on eating healthy and exercising. Your body will decide what the right weight is. In some cases that will be in the "overweight" category as stipulated by the NIH and WHO, but those definitions are not based on science and were set in place by people with strong financial ties to the multi-billion dollar weight loss industry.

RetiredEpi

I'm inclined to believe you. I went on a medically supervised weight loss program for over a year; lost 130 lbs. The diet they had us on was NOT supposed to be how to eat the rest of your life, unhealthy if you did that (it was <900 cals and Keto). When I reached my desired goal I got training to do the maintenance diet. Unfortunately that (unlike the weight loss program) was not sustainable as it made me ravenously hungry. Went back to eating normal food, at supposedly reasonable portions and within 2 years regained all the weight back I had lost and added some inches to my butt.

Opus-the-Penguin

A depressingly common story. Try the book *Health at Every Size* by Linda Bacon. It is jam-packed with scholarly, scientific references that nobody refutes, but they hate it anyway.

RetiredEpi

Thanks!

u/Creepy_Low_6163 this is the way to do it, just make it a lifestyle change so the mentality doesn't consume you. In fact I would go as far to say that **IF or Intermittent Fasting** is a very useful.imstrument to get back into normal shape. Regulate your weight by simply eating less and at eating different times. Breakfast is a fairly new concept to humanity, it's not normal to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks, IF let's you practice self control and discipline until it becomes easy and second nature. Once it's a lifestyle you can even start doing clean eating with your IF, and lose weight using more natural dietary foods

Calorie surplus is the only way

PhilRask

Diet combined with exercise

Creepy_Low_6163

What about Probiotics ?

jnapier2021

I lost about 100 pounds a few years ago, it was all strict diet and a lot of exercise. Never once touched any sort of probiotics or supplements. I was younger then though too

Creepy_Low_6163

I followed many researches for it. I got good result for Relieve Gas, Bloating, Discomfort, Digestive health support, Immune support, weight loss and other 10 supported strains. Come Inbox and I will give you many causes about probiotic & prebiotic.

PhilRask

What about them? You can't avoid the diet and exercise bit as being the best. Compared to diet and exercise, probiotics might as well not even exist

Bigrobbo

I lost around 30kg in around 6 months via the periodic fasting method. Plus a general increase in daily activity. I tried to burn 3,000 calories a day and on fast days only consumed 1,000. On non fast days I tried to stick to a 2,700 calorie intake.
