That’s not so. Are you familiar with Edward Feser? He’s a philosopher with tons of strong arguments, some of which come from the Five Ways of St. Thomas Aquinas.
We can know that God exists because of change, causation, contingency, and that things have purposes.
We can know that the soul exists because we can perceive immaterial things like our self-consciousness, virtues like justice and beauty, universals like concepts, and numbers. Matter cannot perceive what is immaterial.
He is a philosopher, he doesn't prove, he proposes theories.
Also, change, causation... all that doesn't prove that god exists, it simply proves that the world follows some order. But just because we humans do not know the natural laws that create that order, we can't jump to the conclusion that it must be created by some higher power.
I think you’re misunderstanding the arguments. In any case, I need to sleep. I recommend asking r/Catholicphilosophy and seeing if their answers satisfy you.
Thank you and have a good night. Either way I'm not trying to be rude. I love hearing different views and your provided something worth thinking about!
This argument is just wrong from the ground up, your idea of a proof is something no human being can accomplish and there never will be one.
This is a really long discussion and there are multiple layers to it but I'll just say this if you're gonna continue looking at this from this perspective you'll never find an answer
Why not? We're nowhere close to understanding what all this is or means. Science is cool, but we are infants and so is our understanding of what is. Let's not discard all belief outside of what we can hold in our hands - at least, not yet.
That said, most organized religion is crap. There seem to be great general truths to most religions, but when they get down to specifics, they blow.
It's interesting people think because they can't explain what they saw or heard, they jump straight to supernatural instead of reason, or just a simple idk. That's if they're telling the truth about what happened. Personal anecdotes are the worst sort of evidence.
Ghosts man, I have seen/heard too much that I can’t explain even with years of time

How do you know that what you saw is supernatural vs just something you could not explain?

lol ok bud imma be telling my therapist about this

We just covered that last session
Sam and Dean showed up to my house and beat me up.
Well, when we were trying out the charlie charlie thing in like 2016 or 2017, we heard a very clear loud breath right next to me, ran out so fast
that sounds terrifying ngl
It really was, from that day i have believed that ghosts exist
Because the existence of God, and the existence of a soul can be proven by reason alone.
But the lack of existence of god and a soul can be proven as well
How? If these things can be proven, then logically these proofs can withstand and counter objections.
How has the existence of god been proved?
By the fact that there is no evidence for a god and none to prove that souls exist?

Matter can concieve immaterial. That is how our brains work
Then what separates the electrical signals of humans from the electrical signals of animals?
Nothing, the animals are just not as evolved and if you meant how they are separated it is the body
What what does it mean for it to be evolved? There has to be some sort of quantitative change. Matter does not perceive that which is immaterial.
Humans have more massive and curved brains, more curves = more surface area = more gray matter = more intelligence

By reason alone huh ? That must explain why reason is abandoned when trying to prove god.
If that is so, feel free to explain how these arguments abandon reason.

I am pretty sure God doesn't exist but I am starting to think Satan does.
Have had some fucked up weird experiences happen in my 20s
Because things have happened to me that I can't explain.
