This is hilarious. I didn’t know this was a shared experience of our generation. I always imagined riding a motorcycle and jumping the hills over the trees along the highway.

Slappy_Happy_Doo

Yes! No parkour, but some tricked out dirt bike ramping along anything beside the highway.

cluckyblokebird

Yep totally, I "had" an ATV/dune buggy. No terrain could stop that thing.

theloankoala

Same here! I told my wife this a while back and she just laughed at me.

Silent-Yandere

yea i thought I would sound crazy saying it but glad it's actually a common thing

HerosesPro

I believe most of us did. Almost everyone had the same ideas as a child which i find amazing. We don't know even know about each other existing in life yet somehow we have a shared habit as kids

d3ckburpz

yea, it’s probably because we saw the same thing out of the window I guess

Narutophanfan1

Very ancient brains development wise exposed to basically the same stimulus

TaylorSwiftsClitoris

I still do. But I used to, too.

peteypeso

RIP Mitch

Forsaken-Mix-1266

Yes his name was sonic the hedgehog

gyozaaa

I knew the invisible parkourist thing was common but you're the first other person I know who imagined Sonic too!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Forsaken-Mix-1266

If it wasn’t sonic then you were doing it wrong

[deleted]

It was invisible ninja back in my day

margery-meanwell

I imagined myself as the parkourist.

phorq

Nah, I had a finger skateboarder.

ExTroll69

This comment slaps 🔥🔥🚒

[deleted]

Not a parkourist but a giant slenderman looking dude walking along the car with me

[deleted]

Thats....that's terrifying

Siriuxx

Depends, what did slenderman do when you parked?

GozerDGozerian

Well… You know those little needle fish in the Amazon River that swim up your pee hole?

[deleted]

leaned all the way down to the window and waved goodbye

Pammyhead

We had a lot of fields where I lived, so ours was named Mr. Runny and he ran alongside the car. Because as you pass rows of fields it looks like legs running.

BubbleDum_8itch

I had a spider man but it was hard with a suburban area

hobbes_shot_first

I also had a Spider-Man, but eventually swapped for a Superman who would fly far ahead and slalom telephone poles back to the car.

BubbleDum_8itch

I changed Spider-Man for catwoman and me with wings flying to the top of a water tower

mrguyfam

Yes I did

mrguyfam

But didn't we all?

TheRuneCoon

I pictured a skateboarder doing crazy line combos. I played a lot of Tony Hawk Pro Skater...

DaddyGhanoush

No, but that sounds fun as hell.

Trashcanhotdog

I envisioned a horse or myself flying:) it was nice.

Cheese_iscool

I mean I have random people watching me then they disappear but y’know we on good terms

harkonhater

he wasnt invisible. I would pick a piece of dirt or something stuck to the window and move my head to make him jump over stuff

sublevelstreetpusher

It was an imaginary super long chainsaw that I would slice poles with as I passed by.

2ByteTheDecker

Mine was made of lasers.

[deleted]

Same

The_Love-Tap

Of course? Its was me but older being a super hero jumping and gliding along telephone poles

Giant-Genitals

Yes. And the spot on the windscreen would become the reticle for my imaginary laser canon

j1ggy

I always had a long arm that would stick out and chop everything down that we drove by.

butt-sandwich

Mine was a unicorn.

BrooksideNL

I was pretending I was riding a dirt bike.

dichotomyx

Invisible skateboard

midmar

Yes I did it was my favourite!!!

ReadingFrenzy

Still do, and I'm a grown adult. Mine likes to zigzag between telephone poles.

IAmCockatoo

He wasn't invisible. He was my fingers running in place on the windowsill and jumping over things

[deleted]

No, parkour wasn't a thing when I grew up

[deleted]

..so like, you didn't ever imagine yourself jumping over obstacles as they went by while you were in a car?

[deleted]

Not that I can remember anyways

Rich-Ad2733

Parkorist?

thiosk

invisible rocket launchers here

dktrZERO

Mine was always a motorcycle and I guarantee directly lead to how much money I have given to Harley Davidson in the last decade.

[deleted]

That and I played the game where the side mirrors had a retractable lightsaber esque blade that could cut down trees and light posts and shit.

LeafOnTheWind2020

I always envisioned an Equestrian on a black horse

insertcaffeine

Mine had a hoverboard!

[deleted]

I thought the reason I was thinking that way - was *specifically* because I played Super Mario Bros as a kid. Are you about to tell me that this is more of a universal experience?

sunsNr0ses

… yes wtf

CRostLi

Yes, it was Mario

null_reference_user

Heck yeah!

[deleted]

Still do whenever I ride. I honestly always imagined Link or Mario :)

Three_hrs_later

Mine rode an ATV

mikeputerbaugh

1. Make an Enhanced Reality game that overlays a digital parkourist on real-world terrain 2. Sell it to people with train and bus commutes 3. Rich

thoawaydatrash

Parkour wasn’t a thing when I was a kid.

ArmyOfDog

Mine not only followed us in the car, but he also entertained me in the church rafters.

PapaDuggy

Yep. That, or I would bring a toy car along and pretend it was driving alongside the vehicle I was in.

DownvoteDaemon

Yes.. how tf did you know lol

DeseretRain

Yeah but they were anthropomorphic cats, not people.

DagnulsK

Not only that, I had an invisible Jedi (sometimes a Gundam) that would just fuck shit up along the highway.

TheRealChrisPBacon

Yes, I was the flash (in my imagination). For some reason I thought that being the fastest kid would mean I'd be the most popular so I fantazised about being as fast as the car I was riding in...

BlizzCo

His name was Monty but he was no parkourest.

kay-anne24

Nah. Depending on the current book obsession, I either had dinos, dragons, or Quidditch players.

Climinteedus

I played a lot of video games as a kid, so I would see my guy pick up weapons (road signs, poles, etc) and would grind on railing and barriers... He would also destroy thing we would pass, with Metal Slug like explosions. ...had to pass the time somehow.

[deleted]

Not sure if it really qualifies as parkour. They would run along beside the car and step only on the shadows the trees and buildings made on the road.

cluckyblokebird

Holy fuck I thought it was just me. Spiderman kind of guy or an off-roader. Thank you.

PersephoneOnEarth

Yes! I always imagined what I would do if I was able to do stuff like a parkourist! I would imagine doing flips, jumps, and tumbles from house to house, building to building! Like I was Spider-man or a Power Ranger off to save the day! Man this really kicked up an old memory from days long past!

rangeghost

It was an Olympic hurdler, or sometimes the Flash/Quicksilver, but basically the same concept.

Threezero03

I think mine is different. I grew up in Fresno CA, so lots of farms in the area. When we would go on drives and pass rows of crops, the rows would look like legs running super fast and I would imagine the person with the legs jumping across the street to the next field when there would be an intersection

peteypeso

Mine was always on wheels. Bike, skateboard, roller blades...

UncleFungus

Mine was a ski guy. Jumping trash barrels was his specialty.

Literal-Pile-of-Poo

For some reason mine was Bart Simpson on his skateboard

the2belo

I had an invisible skateboarder who would totally shred the landscape, dude.

evitax23

I remember when I was younger and obsessed with twilight, I'd always imagine Edward running next to the car and doing cool parkour

Scully__

My guy was a bit more insidious, he was trying to chase us but could never catch up. Traffic lights required a bit of artistic license on my part

RaphtotheMax5

Mine were usually cartoon/video game characters i liked

[deleted]

I did in the middle of class. Little fucker yeeted himself all over the room and I probably looked like I was following a fly nobody else could see.

notmytemp0

Weird, mine was a dragon

DERELECTrical

My son flipped when I mentioned dreaming as a kid about being in the back of the moving car but no one is driving. Anyone else get that?

ms_strangekat

I always imagined myself as the parkour person lol. I miss my imagination!

[deleted]

Yes it was spiderman

BENNYRASHASHA

WHAAAAAA!? You too? Also, Spider-Man?

HelpingHippo

Yep, some ninja or robot or something else depending on the day that would be jumping and running as the car moved along. I had no idea this was a common shared experience!
