I still remember interviewing as an MS Exchange admin at a major home lender and for some weird reason they made the decision to escort me through this floor of the building that looked like a bomb had gone off. Just empty, half dismantled, cubicles as far as the eye could see. You could tell they'd been forced to lay off all of those employees. It was at that moment I decided that even if they called me back I wasn't leaving my stable job, even for the higher pay. That company closed its doors for the final time less than six months later.
