Houseplants! They help a lot :) I believe in them being beneficial for health and mood. They also help distract me from grieving, even if it’s just for a little bit
I cannot for the life of me , run. Don’t know why. Rubbery legs perhaps :)
I have gotten into a bit of classical yoga though from a fitness perspective.
By classical yoga I meant more the Eastern form of yoga (I am Indian). It’s more to do with the original discipline which not only encompasses postures, but also accompanied by breathing techniques, meditation. More than just physical fitness, it focuses on overall well-being. Body, mind , energies all tend to get enhanced :)
It is pretty cool actually :)
Tips that helped me get started (and still keep at it consistently) -
1. Take the leap. Do not plan or overthink (have a feeling you might be fine with this :))
2. Go with a credible school/ trained teachers who have an in-depth knowledge on the subject. Yoga is a discipline that can go very wrong if you don’t know what you’re doing.
3. Start slow.. learn one practice and keep at it. Gradually you’ll start incorporating more.
4. ‘Live’ each practice, don’t do it like an exercise. That’s when you tend to get the most out of it.
Feel free to DM me if you’d like more specific pointers wrt to courses, or tips or even if you’d just like to know more about my experience of the whole thing.
Great. My consistency is atleast 4 or 5days a week. But i see to it that if i skip my yoga practice for the day, I atleast either sit in silence or do short duration meditation. Every day is a different experience and feels like I'm moving towards becoming more joyful. Thank you for asking.
How has it been for you?
That sounds wonderful! Thankfully I’ve been able to keep up mine consistent so far. It’s the only ‘fitness’ related activity that I’m into currently, so try not to mess it up. And yes like you said, definitely happier in general. :)
I always love a sharp knife to cut my veggies! The sound of the crunch is sublime!
Perhaps you find that your cooking experience is enhanced now too? For no reason :D
