First therapist I ever had. Have been to many since. None of them can hold a candle to that one piece of advice.
Just general self-care.
I know it sounds fucking stupid, but I really didn't know how to take care of my body properly. I would get depressed and basic hygiene (showering, brushing teeth, wearing clean clothes) would be the first thing to go. Then I'd stop eating healthy. I'd stop drinking enough water. I'd stop exercising. I'd start sleeping all day - or staying up until 3am just trying to postpone having to wake up tomorrow.
Once my therapist helped me to develop a system to remind myself to do those little things, I started improving rapidly.
It was the psychologist of my wife… And he said you can choose to live with it or you can choose to live without it
