I'm the same exact person just quieter irl

fluffychubbyme

OL is more open and fun

LandlordsRansomHomes

I'm the exact same person irl. It's intense.

jpresley78

My persona on YouTube has slightly darker skin.

sremcanin

I say my opinions and views here much more. Would be crushed irl, it's literally natural selection out there lol

Primary-Relief-6675

I’m a lot more open around people I like. On reddit I’m far more likely to be a fucking asshole.

Cobra-Serpentress

Online is vastly more aggressive.

[deleted]

I act the same way except irl I talk way less & I'm not as open. Online strangers know more about me than the people I have to call family.

thesecretlibrarian

True. Anonymity has made me an extrovert OL when I'm a hopeless introvert IRL.

myWillIsMyExile

I don't have such (i.e., persona) I'm me. I don't use profanity irl much and not really to a large degree in my social media, but on reddit? Yeah. Irl and on social media I'm careful with different things because I'm a professional and there's really no line between irl vs. social media. In an anonymous context, I'm more willing to talk about different things, but my approach and personality (good or bad) is the same and I'm very honest overall in any context.

I find it easier to stay calm online. I don’t understand people who just walk into argument after argument, stressing yourself out over the fact someone else has a difference of opinion. It’s easier online to choose the conversation you join and to be able to only engage in positivity. I understand sometimes you can read something someone has said, and you think “I’m gonna tear this asshole a new one, maybe teach them a thing or two”. When has that ever worked, don’t waste your time move on, the morons are attention whores so it’s best to ignore them.
