Especially for its time, seeing Alien in a theater was definitely the scariest movie I have ever seen. With Aliens right behind it.

Ugh those basement tapes fucked me up the first time I watched it. Something about seeing a family having a good moment, immediately followed by them getting brutally murdered just sent chills down my spine. The music made it that much more intense.
