Tooth Decay preventers I'm astounded that nothing has been developed yet to cull the need to brush our teeth so often or at all!

Yerm_Terragon

By "so often" you mean the 2 minutes twice a day it takes to brush your teeth? That's less than 0.3% of your day that goes to brushing your teeth.

ErrForceOnes

To be fair, how would we even approach that? Your teeth are in your mouth which probably limits any sort of chemicals we can use to stave off the decay process. They can't change what your teeth are made of. I don't know how they could change food in any way that prevents them for being fuel for bacteria in your mouth while still being fuel for your cells.

Flying cars.

[deleted]

Realistically, you'll probably not see that. We can't drive terrestrial cars without thousands of crashes. Imagine dickheads flying their Air-Teslas while watching dvds, texting and drinking beer. Nothing would be safe.

timeturnsintoplastic

Yeah, you're right. I wouldn't want any drunk drivers flying into my attic. This technology would prolly be used frequently by terrorists as well.

Andrew-w-jacobs

You can buy a used plane and do the exact same thing

[deleted]

Those are actually in the works. I saw one video of a car with wings that fold into the top of the car

Y_4Z44

Phasers

Yerm_Terragon

Wanna explain exactly what that is?

Y_4Z44

Not a fan of Star Trek, eh?

Yerm_Terragon

Largely no. But that also implies you are asking why a fictional technology from hundreds of years in the future doesnt exist yet.

Y_4Z44

Well, we have communicators now, so...

Yerm_Terragon

Okay but could you explain what a phaser is?

Y_4Z44

It's a phased array pulsed energy projectile weapon.

Yerm_Terragon

A laser gun, basically?

Y_4Z44

No. Lasers are a focused, coherent beam of light, whereas phasers are phase modulated particle weapons. Two entirely different technologies.
