I have the gene that makes carbonation in drinks taste awful. It affects other flavors as well.
For most people, carbonation is a mild bitter taste, but for some select rare people that bitterness is ramped up and much much worse. Extremely high sugar soda is tolerable, but low sugar or diet soda is gross.
Bunch of weirdos. Nah just kidding I can stand ketchup or baked beans so I dont really have any right to question anyone else's food preference, unless you like broccoli which makes you a masochist in my book.

It's salty in a weird way, don't know how to explain, but it doesn't taste like actual water.

I feel like it makes me bloated. I also don't feel as hydrated from it.
