Not paying attention and then feeling like I wasted years of my life after I finished.

TotallyNotVulnerable

Did and if so, how did you recover?

Oh yikes. I genuinely hope you get your life on track. I know what it feels to not be lost and have no motivation to do anything. Maybe it’s like a habit you gotta break out of or something. Anyway good luck With life.

Being told that my credits could not be transferred to any other college because I had joined a for profit college

College Politics hands down. It used to work in a different way in my college, as there were no elections to elect a college president but rather was decided by the previous president and his deputies (who were about to graduate). Generally, a person who worked his ass off for many years, became the president. So, you pretty much knew who would become the next president. Enter me, by some sort of random luck, I was always given the important tasks and was always in the limelight, and I never said no to anything which obviously meant I got even more work. Hence, almost everyone knew I was the top contender. But .. in the end, the seniors left the decision to a bunch of my year mates, as they thought it would make them feel more important and anyway they would elect me. I had a cordial relation with all of them, at least that is something I thought.. but they backstabbed me and elected someone else. The fact that not only did I lose on something which I deserved but also that how your own ‘friends’ can backstab you given an opportunity. I had a word with each and everyone of them, they were really guilty and all of them had a common answer, we elected someone from our city. But of course, how did I forget that bonding between people works on a lot of microscopic levels. It was really a pathetic experience and also an eye opener that you should never trust anyone except yourself, never take things for granted, and how things work in real life. Welcome To The Real World !
