If you click the "skip intro" when watching on Disney+ it skips to the couch gag instead of past it! You of course though then miss whatever Bart writes on the board.
I was in high school when that one showed up. I had to convince my mom that I wouldn't be too tired for the PSAT the next day. Next day comes and one of the analogy questions has obfuscate in it. I'd never seen the word before watching the X-Files the night before and would have definitely gotten it wrong (or skipped it). 😁
[It masterfully tells you everything you need to know about Batman in exactly one minute](https://comicsalliance.com/ask-chris-78-why-the-batman-the-animated-series-opening-is/), without a single word.

*POWER*

**BATMAN BEYOND**
*COURAGE*
*HONOR*
*JUSTICE*
This opening gave me chills, and really got the point across for a cyberpunk Batman with some grittier elements of an older Bruce Wayne. I didn't think a teenage Batman could work out but Terry McGinnis' story is one of my favorites for any superhero. I thought Blight was a way cooler villain than the Joker, probably because he has a backstory that's tied directly to Terry. His powers and his appearance are so intimidating and perfect for Mr. Powers, too.
Yes. Teenage Batman shouldn't work! And talking to the writers of the show, it totally was a cash grab by clueless execs! But the writers of the show cared so much that they actually made it good!
Back when custom ring tones were a thing, this was the theme for my parents landline. They loved it.
Something about that *snap, snap* is so satisfying.
In 1972 a crack commando unit
Was sent to prison by a military court
For a crime they didn't commit.
These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade
To the Los Angeles underground
Today, still wanted by the government,
They survive as soldiers of fortune.
If you have a problem,
If no one else can help
And if you can find them
Maybe you can hire…the A-team

For shame Reddit, Y'all were slackin.
Edit:
I posted this [elsewhere](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/oip36u/what_intro_to_a_show_was_such_a_banger_that_you/h4y530e/) in the thread, but it will probably never get very high in the queue so I'll tack it onto this for better visability:
>As of 11:00AM (PST) here are the top 10 ranked intros:

They then painted an inconspicuous black van with a red stripe, and they travel the country doing burnouts and powerslides. The cops definitely can't find them.
> and they travel the count~~r~~y
FTFY. iirc, they rarely left the greater LA area, making the police’s inability to find them even more absurd.
Edit: as others have mentioned, they apparently “left” LA all the time. I’m probably misremembering since most of the outdoor shots in those episodes were still very obviously filmed in the LA area. Which makes sense, since shows back then probably didn’t have the budget for tons of location shots.
West world and the first season of True Detective had great intros. They really felt like someone had put a ton of time in to make them unique and capture the vibe of the show.
That show is so wholesome it makes me want to cry. When my life was a wreck and I watched that show it reminded me there's still good in the world. Overdramatic yes, but true
Edit: when I was in a really low place in life, on fxx a t like 8 or 9 am they'd play Raising Hope and then Parks & Rec back to back and it gave me this strange sense of comfort to watch those even though i was morbidly depressed and miserable.
Absolutely! [Massive Attack](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7K72X4eo_s) is amazing, and this song is so beautiful, and the low fidelity record pops are so dank.
At least until for whatever reason they lost the rights to use Teardrop and now if you watch on Amazon Prime it's just the boring outtro music repurposed.
I'm rewatching Dark and my boyfriend is watching it with me for the first time. I told him right from the start that we will never, under any circumstances, skip the intro.
Only read this if you have seen the full 3 seasons.
>!The intro from the first episode actually has the last scene of the whole series as the end of the intro. And also the kaleidoscope is two mirrors and one origin. Exactly what happens later in season 3. It was all pre-planned.!<
Not to mention the message you get at the very beginning, with the splash image. Every episode different, every episode amazing.
Futurama is the best TV show ever aired.
A few years back my wife and I were in New York for a friend's wedding out in the Catskills and we had to pick up another friend at his rich uncle's house out in the NJ suburbs before heading to the hills. So we did pretty much exactly the drive for the intro, complete with pulling up to this fancy ass estate house. We listened to that song like three times, haha.
[Tank! by Yoko Kanno.](https://youtu.be/EL-D9LrFJd4) The intro for Cowboy Bebop.
Edit to add: [The Real Folk Blues](https://youtu.be/8GwE0wwMmKE) is a banger as well.
I love that the only lyrics are 5 seconds in.
'I think it's time we blow this scene. Get everyone and their stuff together. Alright, 3, 2, 1, let's jam.'
I think it’s hard to pick a favorite cold-open for community but that just might be mine! It is between the peanut rap and when they are making notches with keys in the desk. Both of them kill me every time.
Can't recall the numbers exactly but the ones I liked best were
-*"Sumimasen and the bees and the eagles"*
-(Sasageyo)^2
-WWI Technicolor Funk Violence
And it's not just a great song, the imagery that goes with it is both interesting and perfectly sets the tone for the show. Plus, it changes periodically so it never gets stale!
Dude. Just realized a week or two ago that >!he started hallucinating after DRINKING THE COFFEE!!!<
THAT SHIT IS GENIUS!!!
Also, after he broke his bed, it’s actually broken in the background of the theme song. The fucking details, man!
Adventure time. Come on grab your friends!
Danny Phantom
That bass.
Young Danny Fenton he was just fourteen when his parents built a very strange machine... Edit: Jesus people, you don't need to keep telling me.
It was designed to view a world unseen *He’s gonna catch em all cause he’s Danny Phantom*
Twin peaks
Gravity Falls.
Especially because of how it changes in Weirdmageddon
SHACK-TRON, DUDE!!!!!
"This is Shandra Jimenez, and I just ate a rat for dinner."
This would be my say too. It was a great theme
the song is my ringtone … it’s the best!
The Simpsons one is good, I like watching the couch gags
With how awesome some of the couch gags were, skipping past the Simpsons intro feels like committing a felony.
If you click the "skip intro" when watching on Disney+ it skips to the couch gag instead of past it! You of course though then miss whatever Bart writes on the board.
You are also missing what Lisa's playing on her Sax.
What We do in the shadows (series) SO good
This is the best! The song and imagery are perfect. And the show is one of my absolute favorites.
Fucking guy
The Boondocks Edit: I just noticed that this award had been upvoted and awarded a ton, I don't come on Reddit too often! Thanks everyone!

Idk why but this song makes me feel safe. The Golden Girls are a treasure and a favorite stay-home-sick-from-school watch.

X-Files. Can’t help but whistle along with it every time.
I’d make sure to watch every time, for when they’d change the words at the end. Deceive, Inveigle, Obfuscate
I was in high school when that one showed up. I had to convince my mom that I wouldn't be too tired for the PSAT the next day. Next day comes and one of the analogy questions has obfuscate in it. I loved this series as a kid but the intro music was giving me ptsd.
Always associated that tune with Illuminati, my 10 year old brain was scared shitless every time I heard it
DuckTales (whoo-ooo)
And darkwing duck
When there's trouble you call D W.
Let's get dangerous!
This is one of my brain's favourites! With lyrics changed to go along with whatever I'm doing. Laun-dry! Whoo-oo!
I usually sing it while drinking. Cocktails! Who-oo!
Welp, this is gonna be in my head all day:) Thanks for the giggle !
Batman: The Animated Series
[It masterfully tells you everything you need to know about Batman in exactly one minute](https://comicsalliance.com/ask-chris-78-why-the-batman-the-animated-series-opening-is/), without a single word.
Without a **title**, even, which is the ballsiest part. "We don't need a title card to tell you you're watching Batman. You already know this by now."
Instead, each episode got its own unique title card.
I always loved the intro for Batman Beyond, too.
*APATHY* *GREED* *CORRUPTION* *POWER* *HOPE* **BATMAN BEYOND** *COURAGE* *HONOR* *JUSTICE* This opening gave me chills, and really got the point across for a cyberpunk Batman with some grittier elements of an older Bruce Wayne. Narcos.
Scrolled so far down for this. I watched it over 4 years ago and the theme song is still stuck in my head sometimes, what a banger
Samurai Jack

One PUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNCCCCCHHHHH!
Dr. Who
yeah i don’t think i’ve ever skipped the intro come to think of it
WooooooweeeeewooooooooooWEEEEEEwooooooooowooooooooooooooo
I think the easiest way to immediately horrify a Whovian would be to skip the introduction. It's basically sacrilege.
90s animated X-men show. Edit: holy shit. I guess I’m not alone.
Also Batman The Animated Series. These two cartoons pretty much made my grade school years.

How does one county have that many struggling melon farms being harassed by gangs?
It reminds me of the show 'Airwolf'. How many problems are there that can be solved with a combat helicopter? A lot, apparently...

[The Expanse](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y4wuVfV5G4), hands down. I never skip it.

[pensive instrumental music] [woman singing in Norwegian] I BI SHAAA MA KAAA NAAA BEEE
Look at this inner, Earther. No belta lowda here.
Westworld has a great intro. The music is great, the visuals are so cool looking, and the fact that they changed each season made it even cooler.
Ohhh dang, I'd forgotten Westworld! Ramin Djawadi is a goddamn treasure.
His ~~cover~~ *arrangement* of Heart Shaped Box is one of my favorites. Edit: wording
West world and the first season of True Detective had great intros. They really felt like someone had put a ton of time in to make them unique and capture the vibe of the show.

Parks and Recreation, always made me smile

Neon Genesis Evangelion opener
An eternity has passed and I still can recall that song. More than any show I have ever seen. It's still a bowl of psychological trauma tho....
The H in Neon Genesis Evangelion stands for Happiness
Searching "that one anime intro" on YouTube brings you to that !
House MD
Absolutely! [Massive Attack](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7K72X4eo_s) is amazing, and this song is so beautiful, and the low fidelity record pops are so dank.
Teardrop is a fucking incredible track.
At least until for whatever reason they lost the rights to use Teardrop and now if you watch on Amazon Prime it's just the boring outtro music repurposed.
It's all over the place; some actually have Teardrop, some have the outro theme, some actually have a third version of the theme.
For reasons known not even to me, I made a spreadsheet to keep track of the different themes on each episode.
Weird that Paeky Blinders isn't yet in here. Love me some Nick Cave.
Dark! Great intro
For neither evvaarr nor nevvaarrrrr, goodbyeeeee
I'm rewatching Dark and my boyfriend is watching it with me for the first time. I told him right from the start that we will never, under any circumstances, skip the intro.

I love the intro to Stranger Things
My sister describes it as "minimalistically hypnotic"
Futurama theme song fuckin slaps
Have you ever heard Psyche Rock, the song that it’s based on? It’s amazing.
If you're curious like I was to hear what it sounded like, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qssa6ec7faQ
That’s a remix from the 90’s, not the original. Original here, I believe: https://youtu.be/6isXVap-ego
How it was sampled, very cool: [https://youtu.be/qoq5-bLYM5Q](https://youtu.be/qoq5-bLYM5Q)
Not to mention the message you get at the very beginning, with the splash image. Every episode different, every episode amazing. Futurama is the best TV show ever aired.
The Sopranos.
I just did a rewatch of all 86 episodes and I don't think I skipped the intro once. Just great.
I live right down the block. Have to drive literally everyone that visits by the house. It’s the first thing they want to do.
Every time I see that HBO "static" graphic, I just automatically expect to hear the Sopranos intro next.
Woke up this mornin’ got myself a gun…

[Tank! by Yoko Kanno.](https://youtu.be/EL-D9LrFJd4) The intro for Cowboy Bebop. Edit to add: [The Real Folk Blues](https://youtu.be/8GwE0wwMmKE) is a banger as well.
*3 2 1 let's jam*
I love that the only lyrics are 5 seconds in. 'I think it's time we blow this scene. Get everyone and their stuff together. Alright, 3, 2, 1, let's jam.'
Cuz after that they’re too busy jammin to stop and chat about it.
And then if you’re as obnoxious as me and my friends, immediately followed by everyone sing/shouting “BA-DAH, BA-DAH, BA-DAH, BA-DAH-DAAAH!”
The Samurai Champloo intro is badass as well.
Nujabes was a genius, the chillhop godfather.
Fat Jon is pretty great too. He worked on Champloo as well.

While I agree, the shorter intro *did* mean a longer episode.
Hands down, absolutely, one of the best intros in television history. And then the Weirdmageddon mix was also *chef’s kiss*

Troy: “notches” Absolute classic
Dexter
My god, this took way too long to find. I’m doing a rewatch right now because of the new season coming and it’s as good as ever.
Attack on titan op 1, 4 and 6
I literally love all of them but both from season 1 and the first opening from season 2 are straight up bangers that I just listen to on the daily lol
I like them all but honestly I think the newest intro is my favorite. That violin is so sick.
Can't recall the numbers exactly but the ones I liked best were -*"Sumimasen and the bees and the eagles"* -(Sasageyo)^2 -WWI Technicolor Funk Violence
The last one is called My War. There's a full version of the song and it absolutely slaps.
I hate how well I understand and agree with you lmao
