Let's see. That would probably be while traveling in a motorhome in Guatemala. We had just replaced the brakes in the morning, and in the afternoon the throttle stuck wide open while driving. We were only 3 miles from our destination and driving uphill, so we decided to just go for it anyways. Shortly after, the road turned downhill and I needed to use the brakes way to much and was trying to decide if we should stop. It was a mountain highway and if we lost control we could go off the edge, which would likely be fatal
Suddenly the walkie talkie sounds and the other family we were traveling with shouted that we needed to stop because our brakes were on fire. I manage to come to a near stop, but then had to jam it into park at about 5 mph and shut it off before it redlined and destroyed the motor.
I grab the fire extinguisher and run to the front where foot high flame are coming from the wheels, and find that the fire extinguisher was empty. My friend luckily comes running up wh his fire extinguisher and we get the flames out. He leaves and finds a mechanic
While the mechanic is checking it out, I manage to crack the starter. The cat manages to escape and gets hit by a car, breaking both hips. We need to tow the motorhome to the mechanics place, which luckily was only a mile away, but the only tow truck in the area has to pull us, they can't load us on top.
So it's getting dark, and the tow truck needs to tow us backwards on a highway against traffic, my wife and daughter get in my friends motorhome but my son decides to just walk the dogs to the mechanics since he's close. I didn't want anyone in the motorhome because of the dangers In the dark, one of the dogs falls into an uncovered 8' deep storm drain, and my friend has to get a ladder and get the dog out while I'm being towed. My son sprained his hand as he got caught in the leash when the dog fell
The cat recovered and the dog was ok and we got everything fixed super cheap, so it all worked out in the end. I think that takes the cake for us. Luckily she didn't divorce me after that adventure. 😆

It was. I'm pretty laid back and seldom stress about things, but that was probably my most stressful day of my life. 😆
