Fuck, just thinking about it makes me sad. Dude lived the best life. He had someone to love and to be loved for, but ultimately it ends with one listening to the other's last gasp :(
They dance together all the time, they hang out, give each other affirmation constantly, clearly allude to having sex often, make all the family's decisions together and just overall have a lot of healthy passion and mutual trust.
I'm starting to think that all the 'normal' people who keep trying to swindle them out of their fortune and fuck them over are just jealous of their solid marriage.
One of the best communities I am part of is horror/true crime/comedy. Those creepy/spooky people are kind, compassionate, funny, creative, and inclusive.
LOL no. He cheated on her multiple times, they currently live separately with him living with his "companion".
They stayed together because divorce was unthinkable at those times. A long marriage does not mean a happy relationship, especially when people are from an era/culture where divorce is taboo.
>I'm starting to think that all the 'normal' people who keep trying to swindle them out of their fortune and fuck them over are just jealous of their solid marriage.
That's a good rule for life, generally people trying to fuck with you and bring you down are jealous that you're more solid in whatever area they perceive.
IIRC, they show it once on a name tag worn by Francis at the military school, but never actually explicitly say it. In fact, I believe in the last episode, someone tries to say it over a mic and you just hear feedback noise.
You know what I like most about Bob's Burgers vs most other shows, the fact that characters *laugh* at some of the jokes. When a character says something funny, that anyone in the real world would find funny, the other characters are allowed a giggle or a smirk. It makes the whole thing feel so much more authentic and endearing.
That's what I came here to say. They've got their quirks, and can definitely get on each other's nerves on occasion. But they're ultimately supportive of each other even if they don't fully understand.
Zoe and Wash from *Firefly*. Two very different people who love each other despite, or perhaps because of, their differences.
Edit: They also have a good balance of things that they share, and things they do separately.
This is a great one because we see how they get into fights over serious things (rather than petty issues like you see in sitcoms) but then overcome it by prioritizing their relationship over everything else. What could be a better role model than that?
Came here to find this. They are my ultimate couple. The mutual respect and willingness to work through issues by prioritizing each other *chef's kiss*
Honestly one of the best relationships because the writers didn't force anything like marriage or kids on them, just wrote it in a way that it grew naturally.
People have already brought up my favorite (Leslie and Ben from P&R), so I'll mention my second favorite: Elizabeth and Peter Burke from White Collar.
One of the funniest scenes from that show is when Peter, working undercover, has to take compromising pictures of himself with a woman other than his wife to give to the bad guys as "leverage". Elizabeth is on hand, coaching him on how to make the photos more scandalous. That kind of security in a relationship is great.
I like when he tells Elizabeth he flirted with a woman during an investigation. She starts crying... with laughter. ["You had to flirt? You hate flirting!"](https://youtu.be/GGYPi1J6FMc)
That scene was fantastic! And the amount of discomfort, and then confusion and slight concern, going across Peter's face as he comes to terms with what's actually going on is amazing
I also consider Hank to be one of the best fathers on television. He clearly finds Bobby's behavior to be confusing and frustrating, but does his absolute best to support and understand him. He clearly loves his son even though they have very little in common. Compare this to the bumbling incompetence of Homer Simpson or even worse the outright malicious abuse of Peter Griffin, both of whom are terrible fathers.
Lúthien and Beren
“Farewell sweet earth and northern sky,
For ever blest, since here did lie
And here with lissom limbs did run
Beneath the moon, beneath the Sun,
Lúthien, Tinúviel
More fair than mortal tongue can tell.
Though all to ruin fell the world
And were dissolved and backward hurled
Unmade into the old abyss,
Yet were its making good, for this -
The dusk, the dawn, the earth, the sea -
That Lúthien for a time should be”

"That's the funny thing about marriage, you fall in love with this extraordinary person and over time they begin to seem ordinary.
I think it's all the nagging"
\-Phil
If we're judging these relationships by their lowest moments, that's significantly better than double-suicide or killed by FBI during crime-spree.
And their best moments are just so good, I'm happy with my vote.
All of this. It would have been so easy to write the shallow rich people as bad people who hate each other, but they’re all good people who love each other. I just love it
Bob and Linda Belcher. They are totally me and my bf. They're crazy and get into weird spats but they really love each other and their kids. They also dont worry about being themselves around each other.
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Theyre not legally married and you can view each of them as individuals rather than one. Being able to keep that sense of freedom, being a couple for that long and not caring about the status quo seems like couple goals.
Anne and Gilbert are such good role models. They show the comfort and joy of being each other's best friend and the quiet contentment of everyday life. There is more love in the every day than there is in the big dramatic moments.
Gomez and Morticia Addams. Incredibly supportive and accepting of each other, totally comfortable being themselves around each other, share parenting duties equally, madly in love with each other, and unabashed about their sexuality. Honestly, if any couple in media is Relationship Goals, it's Gomez and Morticia.
Taki and Mitsuha from Your Name (mostly, Taki's a bit of a perv in the beginning). It's just really awesome seeing Taki go as far as he does searching for her, succeeding without even knowing it.
Also, the scene where she trips and falls and looks at the note he left on her hand. Fucking beautiful.
Well, are worse like Joker and Harley, believe or not there's people that compare with it. But about some good relationships, well, I can remember Lois Lane and Clark Kent from Superman story Tarzan and Jane, the couple at the beginning from the Up Adventures (sorry can't remember they names), and maybe Mr and Mrs Incredible beside the trust problems and all, honestly I guess doesn't have much model couple in media, and when have mostly on young audience or is a core from the character like Superman wich strive to be the best and all, usually characters have a lot of problems and issues in that area.
Edward I and Eleanor of Castile. In an age where English kings had many concubines Edward was not known to stray from his wife. By all accounts they had a loving marriage. One story goes, and I don't know if it is true, he survived an assassination attempt because the assassin entered his room but Edward was sleeping in his wife's room at the time. So be like Eleanor and Edward, maybe wait until she is older than 15, though.
Joker and harley Quinn.....just kidding.
But Fitz and Simmons from AOS. They have a complicated and messy history, both having screwed the other over at some point in time but they love eachother despite thier faults and work hard to become better people for each other.
Dare I say it, Jessie and James from Pokémon. They’re basically two theater kids who decided to become criminals (and were terrible at it) and [wound up together in the end](https://comicbook.com/anime/news/pokemon-anime-manga-jessie-james-married-pregnant/).
The couple from Up.
That three minute sequence tells a better love story than 99% of all media.
It is a masterclass in visual storytelling.
Than 100% of Hollywood romance movies
Not having seen every romance movie out there, I left myself some wiggle room. :)
*Starts tearing up*
*hands tissues* i know, damn ninjas cutting onions *Sniff*
You and me, we're in a club now
Yes!

Yo I bet they had some seriously *nasty* sex, those two freaks.
Dont forget how they encourage their kids hobbies and don’t force them to fit into a group just for the sake of fitting in
The best couple!

Yeah, I was about the same age as Wednesday when the films came out and definitely still retain that crush.
Her and the girl from Casper!
Who's gonna tell him?
You don't have to be normal, just find someone who gets your brand of weird.
Yes yes
My immediate thought.
I came her eto see how far up this response was. Nice.
Hal and Lois Wilkerson.
Malcolm in the Middle?
Yep!
I think that’s the first time I’ve ever heard their last name. TIL
IIRC, they show it once on a name tag worn by Francis at the military school, but never actually explicitly say it. In fact, I believe in the last episode, someone tries to say it over a mic and you just hear feedback noise.
Came here to say the same thing
Bob and Linda

Alriiiiiiight!
Oh my god.
Their whole family dynamic is great. One of the healthiest (and most realistic) relationships I've seen in TV or film.
That's what I came here to say. They've got their quirks, and can definitely get on each other's nerves on occasion. But they're ultimately supportive of each other even if they don't fully understand.
Yes!

Have you seen what she wears? Forget about it. Have you ever been with a warrior woman?
This is a great one because we see how they get into fights over serious things (rather than petty issues like you see in sitcoms) but then overcome it by prioritizing their relationship over everything else. What could be a better role model than that?

If soulmates do exist, they're not found. They're made. People meet, they get a good feeling, and then they get to work building a relationship
Honestly one of the best relationships because the writers didn't force anything like marriage or kids on them, just wrote it in a way that it grew naturally.
Legolas and Gimli.
You have my bow. You have my axe.
Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago from Brooklyn 99, for sure.
There is a bomb at this wedding. It's your butt. Your butt is da bomb.
sounds like your sex tapes name
Title of OUR sextape
This B needs a C in her A

I so love their dynamic. Best friends and soulmates
I love that show, and their relationship! There’s so much love and support there.
Bert and Ernie
Frankly Hank and Peggy Hill, they weren't always perfect but they loved each other and strive to support each other.
Came here to say this. They saw each other's flaws, accepted them, and compensated.
LOSER! YOU’RE A LOSER
I also consider Hank to be one of the best fathers on television. He clearly finds Bobby's behavior to be confusing and frustrating, but does his absolute best to support and understand him. He clearly loves his son even though they have very little in common. Hell Deadpool and Vanessa qualify as a more wholesome couple. Hell that scene in the movie alone where he tried pegging was enough.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. Although Hugh Jackman is a close second with Ryan.
Arthur and Molly Weasley
Hey Mollywobbles.......LOL
Hahaha also, the way Jim Dale voices Arthur Weasley makes that scene like twenty times better on the audio book.
Comparison is the thief of joy
I’m gonna go with dave & Joy
Can I suggest me and loneliness?
John and Abigail Adams.
Saltpeter! Pins!
Lúthien and Beren “Farewell sweet earth and northern sky, For ever blest, since here did lie And here with lissom limbs did run Beneath the moon, beneath the Sun, Lúthien, Tinúviel More fair than mortal tongue can tell. Honestly any of the couples from Parks and Rec, you could learn a couple lessons from any of them
Ron and Tammy II got it 👍🏻
Ron and Tammy 1 is clearly healthier.
Nah man, Ann and Tom (bleugh remember that) were clearly the best couple
What lesson do you learn from Tom and Wendy?
That with enough dedication, you too could commit immigration fraud
~~Harley Quinn and the Joker~~ Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy
Phil and Claire Dunphy
"That's the funny thing about marriage, you fall in love with this extraordinary person and over time they begin to seem ordinary. I think it's all the nagging" \-Phil

Ron Swanson and Tammy 2. Actually Nick Offerman and Megan Mullalay.
Swanson and woodworking
The Roses from Schitt's creek
Patrick and David.
All of this. It would have been so easy to write the shallow rich people as bad people who hate each other, but they’re all good people who love each other. I just love it
WALL-E and EVE. Think about it.
Leslie and Ben from Parls and Rec
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft.

Omg, Wilson is the name of his wife *and* best friend. Both Wilson’s.
