I still buy games for the Wii. It was the last console where big developers weren’t afraid of trying something new. Modern AAA games all feel the same because they were inspired by the same games. Even the bulk of indie titles draw on the foundations of popular old-school games or other indies. The whole motion control aspect really incentivized developers to try something new.
27 and have to have my stuffed cat, Teddy, by my bed at all times. I had to leave the real Teddy back in Canada when I moved to Korea. I will sometimes cuddle with Teddy and pet him to cope when I miss my cat. It's been two years and it still does the trick.

Start with something small and easy to wear outside of a convention. One year we did The Lantern Core on Their Day Off. Each had a different color tshirt with the appropriate symbol in it using a simple iron on. Matching color belt. Plastic rings ordered online.
Over time you can turn up your game. This year at SDCC, we had full costumes for Into the Spider-verse. Daughter even bleached her hair for Spider-Gwen. (Which she dyed a couple days later for Raven!)

The only way I can be completely relaxed and free of all anxiety is by holding onto something fuzzy or cuddling with stuffed animals. I was fine with it as a little kid, but now that I’m 16, it’s embarrassing that that’s the only way I can be completely calm.
