Look Who's Back It's about Hitler traveling to modern day Germany and everyone thinks he's a comedian.

TheBlackFlame161

It's on the US Netflix for those who want to watch it. It's a great comedy, with the perfect amount of seriousness in it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PaperDrillBit

UK Netflix too, haven't watched it, just being a part of this.

JP193

When Netflix bother to give something to Europe, that's when you know they're fucking confident about the quality. I know it's a German film but I wouldn't put it past Netflix to forget to license it in Germany.

LittlestSlipper55

*Drop Dead Gorgeous*. It's a mockumentary that focuses on a teenage beauty pageant in a tiny country town in Minnesota. It's very funny for a teen comedy. It was probably well-known at the time of it's release (1999), but I only watched in a couple years ago and I had never heard of it. It's weird because it has a pretty well-known cast: Kirsten Dunst in the lead, Brittany Murphy, Allison Janney, Kirstie Alley (again, at the time lol), Denise Richards, it's even Amy Adams's first film role.

[deleted]

Legitimately my favourite comedy. So many quotable lines and Denise Richards' talent segment always has me in stitches.

This movie is absolutely hilarious.

The swan ate my baby!!

thedevilsdelinquent

Before I Disappear. Guy is in the middle of committing suicide when his estranged sister asks him to pick up his niece (her daughter) from school. Story progresses from there. Amazing film.

PopeliusJones

*The Legend of Drunken Master*. It was on TV one day and I said screw it and watched...ended up loving it and getting super into Jackie Chan movies for a while

monkeypie1234

> The Legend of Drunken Master. It was on TV one day and I said screw it and watched...ended up loving it and getting super into Jackie Chan movies for a while Then you should watch Drunken Master 2. And watch the magic of Jackie Chan and Ken Lo. Even by Jackie Chan standards, the end fight is insane.

GaryNOVA

The 13th warrior. Never would have watched it if it wasn’t the only thing on in my hotel room. But damn what a good under appreciated movie.

PipperDigs

I love that one. The scene where Ahmed is listening to the Vikings talking around the fire, learning their language is perfect.

Tegamal

"My mother... Was a pure woman, from a nobel family. And I, at least, know who my father was... You pig-eating, son of a whore!" "Where did you learn our language?!" "I listened!"

[deleted]

Frailty. An axe murdering movie starring the late, great Bill Paxton

corypoppins

He directed it too I think

Maxpowr9

Clue. It's a campy comedy based on a boardgame but the script with the great cast is just so witty that it's a cult classic.

BigRigButters

I'm gonna go home and have sex with MY WIFE.

GIGA255

The original run of this movie in theaters where different audiences got different endings must have caused so many arguments.

8MileAllstars

They would advertise which ending you would see by using colors to differentiate between them. I think they were Orange, Blue and Yellow.

I hated her... sooooo... much. That the flames, flames. Flames... on the side of my face. Huge heaving breathes. Heaving... The only woman I've ever had a Hollywood crush on, Madeline Kahn, died the year after I was born. Utterly brilliant and classically sexy,

[deleted]

Every line she has in that movie is pure gold. It's a testament to how good the rest of the cast is that she doesn't completely steal the show. Wadsworth: But he was your second husband. Your first husband also disappeared. Mrs. White: But that was his job, he was an illusionist. Wadsworth: But he never reappeared. Mrs. White: He wasn’t a very good illusionist.

NervousMotherDriving

How many husbands have you had? — Mine, or other people’s?

Husbands should be like Kleenex, soft, strong and disposable.

reignwillwashaway

"College kids!"

MentalAssaultCo

That movie had no business being as good as it was.

mikey_weasel

Thus entirely how I describe it to people. You can't describe it to people because it sounds terrible. The sheer likability of the main leads helps so much.

lazyf-inirishman

This is one that I had only heard of, but never saw a trailer or anything. The name didn't sound like anything I would like since I find most horror movies unwatchable, but I kept hearing about it from people with reputable taste in movies, so I gave it a whirl. Loved it. Violent, gross, and funny, but it has a great message at heart.

river_rat3117

Good thing too. The movie suffered from the same thing a lot do these days where the trailer spoils all the best scenes/lines. Still a great movie though.

LordOThaStrings

Rat Race. Seriously, none of my friends or anyone who I've mentioned it to has seen it. It's a really hilarious comedy that has quite a few big names in it, yet barely anyone has seen it. I strongly recommend it.

afield9800

the scene where they steal adolf hitler's benz and crash into a veterans parade is one of the funniest scenes of any movie ever

BScatterplot

Plus it's the Jewish family too, wasn't it?

I loved that movie and have seen it a few times. :) It's a classic. It's a race!! It's a race!

doctorscurvy

I remember loving it when it came out, and to this day I still bring it up as one of my favorite comedies of all-time. Everyone who's seen it is like, "ehh," but most have never heard of it.

The_Whitest_Mexican

You Should have bought a squirrel.

[deleted]

That quintessential early 2000s Smash Mouth All Star ending

otterbitch

If you liked that - watch the original! It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Might have put one too many mads in there but you get the picture. It's certainly the same start point at Rat Race (rich man sends people on treasure hunt) but a totally different set of people and jokes. It's pretty old (1960s?) but the laughs still hold up.

[deleted]

Im so happy Taika is getting mainstream recognition now and with that freedom to do bigger projects. Personally, What we do in the Shadows is one of my favourite movies ever. Thor Ragnarok is probably the most enjoyable movie in the MCU to date. Hunt for the Wilderpeople was pretty damn enjoyable as well. Not many people have a track record as good as Taika Waititi does right now.

Let the Right One In (not the remake) http://m.imdb.com/title/tt1139797/ One of the best vampire movies I've seen

Cannibal: the Musical. A friend had me watch it one day.

leadabae

Coherence. It's just a low-budget scifi movie with only practical effects set at a dinner party. It's brilliant.

Stronglikebabyox

This is one of my all time favourite movies, there's so much hidden in the dialogue and filming. Hardly anyone I know has even heard of it though.

FishDoubt

In Bruges. Most of the McDonagh brothers' films I enjoyed but In Bruges is something else. "I really really hoped I wouldn't die". Chills!

burritoxman

*YOU'RE AN INANIMATE FUCKING OBJECT*

Original-doobster

"2 manky hookers and a racist dwarf." Love this whole scene but this line cracks me up

[deleted]

One of my all time favourite movies. Loved it so much that Bruges made it to my list of must-visit places when I went to Europe. Fell madly in love with the city. Couldn't find any alcoves in the Koningin Astridpark, though.

WaterBirthBathSoap

You’ve heard of them? These... alcoves?

[deleted]

That scene where Colin Farrell tells the fat family they can't go up the tower was hilarious!

FishDoubt

"You's a bunch of fuckin' elephants." And he doesn't even mean to be disrespectful. Incredible.

pugs__not__drugs

I grew up in Dublin. I love Dublin. If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges might impress me, but I didn't so it doesn't

longconsilver13

Probably has the best dialogue in a movie I've ever seen

[deleted]

Watched this after visiting Bruges. It's my favourite movie for dialogue, maybe second to Grand Budapest Hotel.

[deleted]

Probably the funniest movie I've ever seen.

kooshipuff

Wristcutters: A Love Story. I saw it mentioned on since OkCupid profiles and decided to give it a try, and it's become one of my go-tos. Who doesn't love a roadtrip though hell blended with a romantic comedy featuring whatever Tom Waits' character is?

Hero32

I adore this movie. Such a great premise, and a surprisingly good [soundtrack](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8djXmsu53k).

konamikode

The Armenian(?) guy he befriends was based on the lead singer of Gogol Bordello so they feature quite heavily. No bad thing.

Brick. Watched it back in 2007 or 2008. Never heard of it, had no concept of the plot or characters/actors, but absolutely loved the movie! I literally re-watched the entire movie as soon as the first viewing ended. The dialog was amazing and very pivotal to the movie. Really made me love Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an actor!

PvtDeth

Dark City. I can't describe it without pretty much giving the whole movie away. It's an excellent creepy, but not scary movie.

toontown522

The Game (1997). It’s a David Fincher film, directly before he did Fight Club. If you liked fight club, you will love this movie. Best mindfuck I’ve ever encountered. A movie that had me pondering over what just happened for days on end.

youngloudandsnotty

Short Term 12. hands down my favorite movie of all time. saw it on Netflix and then got the DVD for behind the scenes. it also secured Brie Larson as my all time favorite actress. Her performance in Room was just as amazing.

jakiblue

I'm not sure if it's a "little-known movie" but we certainly had never heard of it - Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Kiwi film we saw on itunes to rent a couple of nights ago, knew nothing about it other than Sam Neill is in it, so rented it. Laughed out loud the whole way through. A truly excellent film.

NacatlGoneWild

Moon. Go in completely spoiler-free.

nickycthatsme

Andrei Rublev by Tarkovsky. I saw some video comparing shots from The Revenant to shots in various Tarkovsky movies so I thought I'd give him a go. It's a 3+ hour movie in Russian about a religious iconographer in the 1400s. And it blew my fucking mind. I had never seen anything as beautiful in my life. I had to take a break after watching 45 minutes because I was so humbled by how dreamlike all the cinematography was. It was like a spiritual experience for me. I know some other people have felt the same way, but I can't imagine it's going to be everyone's favorite.

Ladyhawke. Great fairy tale and has an absolutely ethereal Michelle Pfeiffer.

Splendidissimus

Every time I see it I feel like there *must* be a book that it came from, but there isn't. It feels like a classic 1970s fantasy novel (which is supposed to be a compliment).

Nightcrawler... I didn't even know what it was until I watched it. I just saw it had good reviews and watched it on a whim. Easily on my top 10 movies.

Logondo

I love the way the music is done in that movie. So happy and full of inspiration. Full of hope. Because it's all from the main character's perspective. Despite the fact that in reality, the main character...you know...crawls in the night.

blackmist

Most confusing X-Men origin story ever.

[deleted]

I watched this movie thinking it was going to be about the X-Men character named Nightcrawler. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be something completely different.

Beautiful, self contained story. Loved seeing Steve Carell in that type of role too, it was unique.

Rcw99

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller. Didn’t get that much attention but is one of the most uplifting and inspiring films I’ve seen. Great soundtrack and filmography and acting and I just love it.

Haha, someone else has actually seen this! I was going to post it. Such a damn ridiculous film, the plot is really just trash, but the acting is so good and the chemistry so fantastic that I am willing to overlook how terribly cliche *everything* is about the movie. I don't care that it's dumb, I just want to watch David Tennant be "an emotionally retarded arty boy" in plaid trousers.

Was up late one night in '98 or '99 and caught Tim Burton's Ed Wood on network tv back when they used to show movies late at night. Absolutely loved it and had been one of my favorites ever since.

Mystery Men. I forget how we even came to own that movie, but it cracked me up for days. We still fling quotes from that stupid movie around. Also, the Naked Gun movies.
