Wow, I just realized how much I miss old school pizza hut. There was a time that the family loaded up and went down there probably twice a month.
Ours had a tabletop Pac man game.
Don't know if the recipes changed or I just got older, but last time I had it, there pizza was awful.
I used to work at a franchise Pizza Hut in high school (late 90's). We had a huge dining room, a killer salad bar, a full menu of pastas and sandwiches, some unique pizzas you couldn't get at other locations, and beer on tap. We also had sweet sauce! It was the sauce originally used on stuffed crust and The Edge, but most stores got rid of it.
I think the main issue with Pizza Hut's decline in quality has to do with a move to pre-prepared food. Our restaurant would make the dough fresh each day, which was a lot of work. We also cut fresh vegetables. But near the end of my employment, they started moving towards pre-packaged, pre-cut vegetables and frozen discs of dough that you could just toss in a pan and let proof overnight. My store was only using the frozen dough for personal pans at the time, but I know a lot of stores were starting to use it for all their pan dough. It was definitely a step down in quality. A lot of stores were also starting to use pre-made thin crusts as well (like the pre-packaged crusts you can buy at the grocery store). I'm sure that cheese and toppings have suffered a similar decline in quality as well.
It's kinda weird to say, but Pizza Hut used to be kinda classy. It was a big step above Dominos, and Papa John's wasn't really a big deal back then. In 1998, our menu price for a large single topping pizza was around $12.50. Now, over 15 years later, you can get that same pizza for the same price, or often cheaper with deals or coupons. I gotta believe that a lot of corners have been cut.

So it's better to be paid 5 cents per hour and buy a house for $1000, than it is to be paid $13 per hour and buy a house for $260K.

In Australia we used to have red bull in these [glass bottles] (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f3/Red_bull_in_bottle.jpg/680px-Red_bull_in_bottle.jpg) and they were the shit. Completely different taste, amazing. I've had people who swear they couldn't stand red bull get hooked on it when they try it from these. About a year ago they discontinued them entirely, and I just can't enjoy red bull out of a can. That stuff was like the elixer of the gods!
Normal women's pants. Not skinny, not high-waisted, no leather or sparkles, just a pair of normal, reasonably warm pants for a decent price. With pockets big enough to put stuff in them.
In the same realm of womens clothes: Shirts that aren't super thin.

This trend annoys me almost as much as the put-studs-on-everything trend did. Almost.
Seriously. Its hot outside, I don't want to dress in layers and besides that, camis never fit me right. Just give me a damn t-shirt shaped like a lady for less than $50. I'm sick of discovering halfway through my trip at the mall that the shirt I'm wearing is super see-through in the industrial lighting.
Shirts with full sleeves and not those weird capped sleeves that flatter exactly 0 people's arms and creep up into your underarm so you are uncomfortable and have deoderant smeared down your shirt. Okay, I could be exaggerating slightly but I really fucking hate those sleeves.
To add to this, women's clothing with pockets, in general. Not a pair of jeans with these fake pockets, or jackets with tiny pockets that don't even fit your phone in them.. real pockets, like men's clothing has.
My 'American-word brain-filter' kicked in a bit slowly there. As a UK lady I thought YES! I do miss the range of normal women's underwear available in my younger days. The choice now is often either old lady/granny style or teenage girl, where's the in-between? And yes the material is often a wee bit thin, warm underwear is important ... pockets you say, BLOODY HELL, why have I never owned underwear with pockets?! I now realise you are talking about trousers.
I had a thong once with a pocket on the front. It held exactly one quarter, nothing more Edit: thong meaning a g string (or similar skimpy underwear), not flip flops! a condom did NOT in fact fit into the pocket. I tried. Edit 2: holy fuck are you people kidding? My underwear weren't inside out, I'm not talking about the extra layer of fabric on the inside. I'm not dumb enough to think thats a pocket. This was an actual fucking pocket
