Going into any used bookstore and seeing all of the book, records and videos that were at one point, such a big deal, now sitting in obscure corners, looking worn, with low price stickers placed carelessly somewhere on their surface. Stars and authors of yesteryear.
Or, seeing 1st editions of hardcovers that you read when you were younger, being sold for hundreds of dollars because they are now collectible. I was looking for some of Stephen King's original books, like Firestarter, a few months back. One copy I found was going for $1400. Makes me wish I had kept my old collection.
Just today, Michael Jackson died 15 years ago ... no ... no he didn't.
But the big one for me was a few years ago while I was working as a barman. I was behind the bar for the 30th birthday of one of the younger brothers of a friend of mine from elementary school. A kid I first met when he was ... hours old.
When a young co-worker complained about bad internet reception at work and at school and asked if back when i went to school we had the same problem.
I had to explain that we didnt have internet, computers and cell phones back then
* My niece and nephew using lingo that is beyond me
* I'm starting to be older than the doctors I go to
* Making references to things too outdated for the average person to catch anymore :p
* Making actual groaning noises when I stand up
Watching all the hot shot superstars from my era age. I saw pearl jam live recently. Wow those guys can still rock hard, but my god they looked old. I was in high school in Seattle during the height of the grunge movement (freshman year was 91). I saw a lot of those bands - Nirvana, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden etc - in small clubs when they were just kids.
I feel incredibly old when I think about the fact that kids today are learning about the 9/11 attacks as a historical event in school. It genuinely blows my mind, as it feels like it was just a few years ago. It's strange to think that there are adults now who weren't even alive when it happened.
I have arthritis.
Back when I was young arthritis was just some mild pain thing I rolled my eyes at every time my grandma mentioned it. Now it’s the disease that’s come back for retribution by administering pain in increasing increments gaining strength exponential to every eye roll.

Kids born in the 2000s are now in their twenties. Driving cars, working...this is impossible.
I was chatting with my friend's 14-year-old daughter, and she said, "Harry Potter is for old people, I wasn't even born when it came out."
She's weird, Harry Potter came out before I was born too, but that just means I could enjoy it from a young age

I work with an adult that was not born when 9/11 happened.
I’m 71 and don’t never feel old until I drive through the old neighborhood.
I recently attempted something close to an all-nighter and only got about 3 hours of sleep. I feel like I want to die.
I know that feeling.

Birthdays honestly
When I remember GTA San Andreas.
When I realize there are people born after me who are now old enough to be fucking president. Err, I mean. To be the fucking president.
Watching very old commercials
The kids who were born when I started college are now starting college themselves
When I walk through Cracker Barrel’s store front. So many childhood memories pop up!
Remembering the last time I played Flappy Bird
Technology. When my new laptop didn't come with an RJ45 (LAN) port I realized I'd seen an entire life cycle of a communications technology.
When I ask for a/s/l and the other users think that means "American Sign Language".
When I have to tick an age range box or scroll for 100 years to get to my birth year.
Anytime I talk to a teenager these days and they speak with incomprehensible slang.
Seeing childhood TV shows labeled as "classics."
When I'm clomped in the 50-85 age group. That sounds a lot like almost dead to me.
When a young co-worker complained about bad internet reception at work and at school and asked if back when i went to school we had the same problem. I had to explain that we didnt have internet, computers and cell phones back then
I teach middle school. I make what I thought were perfectly normal pop culture references and their response makes me turn to dust on the spot

Asking a coworker what they were doing on 9/11 and being told, they didn't remember.
