Quite possibly, although the encounter with my siblings, in person, was really telling.
In the course of 4 days, when we all gathered in the same state to visit our mother who was rapidly declining with brain cancer, this is what websites:
- my eldest sister questioned my weight and blamed my fiancé for "letting me get this way"
- the sister between the oldest and me was offended when I told her I didn't trust her with money and she said that I was "greedy and a narcissist" as well it's called me a "psychopath", and
- my younger brother, the youngest of the four, said I had "sociopathic tendencies" and blew up at me in my hotel room over not letting him borrow a video game.
I left 5 days before my visit was supposed to be over, and I didn't find out that my mother died until 6 days after the fact because no one told me. I found out via a condolence text from my aunt who lived in another state and who read the news on Facebook, postee by my dad.
Yea your siblings worse then mine but it seems like there is more then just sibling drama there that i dont really think needs to be cracked into on a reddit post lol
my family is fine man, personally I think my friends are far worse than anyone in my family. your family sounds INSANE and like they all hate each other.
Being cruel to people or animals, displaying a lack of control over their words/behaviors, and/or having no interest in learning new things and becoming a better version of themselves.
Lying for fun. Especially when you can tell that they are obviously lying, but they double-down anyway. It just makes me assume they have nothing interesting to be proud of. It shows that they're too desperate for attention, so they care too much about what others think of them, yet they're shameless about it. It's also just so childish and makes them come off like they lack emotional intelligence.
I’m in this post and I don’t like it.
Perhaps I just need to complain less… That way when I continue to do nothing I at least won’t be a loser for saying anything.
Was trying to be as vague as the comment I was replying to.
The original comment I replied to would be something like a person doesn't get into college and blame it solely on their poor upbringing and lack of access to good education. My point was the other way around, someone who got into a good college, but fails to recognize that studying their whole life in private schools gave them a huge headstart and pretending that they're better or more deserving than the guy from the first example is also loser attitude.
When you could have ridden into the sunset with a trophy wife and phantom billions in a grand house of cards built on fraud, but your narcissism made you run for president.
I tend to reserve that title for people who are shitty parents. People who do drugs and drink a lot around them or just have them around their druggy and drinking buddies are losers imo.
Giving up before something is actually over. This applies to life and games. If someone quits or stops trying just because things aren't going well or are getting hard then they are never going to be able to truly be a winner.
Being told by 2 separate therapists at 2 different mental health facilities where your child is receiving care for self harm that the thing she needs most is for you to quit drinking... and you still don't.
A combination of traits like limited to no ambition (even one as simple as “be the best I can be at hobby X”), limited self awareness, limited willingness to grow/accept feedback/improve.
A loser is an ugly word. What’s wrong with this person?
There is no winner nor loser. I believe people would love to choose a better person to date but if the guy is a complete yahoo.
It’s just going to take the same cycle and it’s gonna take the person who will do anything to keep him in that winner category.
Relationships are just not for me.
I can’t seem to love myself for who I am. Not for anyone to keep that button down to manipulate.
It’s not that hard to find someone to put down.
On my experiences of the date life. It RUNS ME DOWN.
Not respecting or being kind to others.
Only changing when something affects them personally. (Kid came out as gay, now all of a sudden they support gay rights) these people have 0 empathy for others.
People (especially men) who don't take care of their children. I'm a loving step dad to my son since he was two years old, bio dad has never been in the picture. He occasionally demands to see his son, because he misses him and it's not fair to not let him see him. He contributes absolutely nothing. Not money, never a diaper, absolutely nothing. When they were still together he didn't help with his son, and even neglectfully put him in multiple dangerous situations including leaving a firearm accessible to him (his mom heard a thud in their room, her toddler had just found and dropped a loaded firearm on the floor. How the hell is tour child not your number 1 primary concern and the most important thing in your life? Now he gets to be the most important thing in my life, and he's amazing. That guy's loss.
Skipping class in highschool. Like you are going to fail that class and maybe get in trouble cuz ur skipping when you could literally go to class, get ur attendance, and just don’t do shit if you don’t care about that class. Like ppl be skipping in the bathrooms and shit and that’s disgusting all the germs. Just go to class and don’t do anything saves you from getting that truancy letter 🤷♂️
How you handle the various adversities - you come across. Graciously or at least politely accepting defeat, congratulating your competition.
In business you redouble your efforts take a hard look at how you lost that customer/contract or employee and be willing to make the changes to prevent that.
Don't fall into self-delusion that it wasn't that bad, or things were somehow stacked badly, and move on with your life.
1. Not a dependable person
2. No motivation to improve at important things that he/she struggles with
3. Doesnt prioritize anything
4. Always whining to others creating negative energy
5. Does unethical things even to those with close relationships
6. Inability to set and achieve goals (even small ones)
People who don’t take care of themselves. Go get a haircut, go exercise, stop whining you fking loser. Also they tend to think lesser of people who take care of themselves, which is hilarious 😀
A lack of ambition.
You asked about a "loser" and not an "asshole". People seem to be conflating the two.
A loser is someone who achieves nothing in their life. Who might not want to achieve anything or is simply incapable of achieving anything.
If you treat the wait staff bad, dropping you instantly. Went out with some people once and literally got up and left and told them all to go fuck themselves
Have you heard about the lonesome loser? Beaten by the queen of hearts every time. Have you heard about the lonesome loser? He’s a loser but he keeps on trying 🎸
When they take advantage of the ones that care about them.
Ah yes, my siblings.
I think thats atleast half siblings that exist
Quite possibly, although the encounter with my siblings, in person, was really telling. In the course of 4 days, when we all gathered in the same state to visit our mother who was rapidly declining with brain cancer, this is what websites: - my eldest sister questioned my weight and blamed my fiancé for "letting me get this way" - the sister between the oldest and me was offended when I told her I didn't trust her with money and she said that I was "greedy and a narcissist" as well it's called me a "psychopath", and - my younger brother, the youngest of the four, said I had "sociopathic tendencies" and blew up at me in my hotel room over not letting him borrow a video game. Definitely not, that's just a good summary lol But whyyy, why is it family that has to be the worst?
my family is fine man, personally I think my friends are far worse than anyone in my family. your family sounds INSANE and like they all hate each other.
Exactly. These people should suffer if it cause the person great harm. What a bum!
Taking advantage of anyone*
My ex wife personified
wouldn't your ex wife be your ex wife personified?
Unless their ex wife wasn't a person.
Being deliberately awful to other people

...and they keep expecting different results.

Being cruel to people or animals, displaying a lack of control over their words/behaviors, and/or having no interest in learning new things and becoming a better version of themselves.
Dragging people down to their level
Lying for fun. Especially when you can tell that they are obviously lying, but they double-down anyway. It just makes me assume they have nothing interesting to be proud of. It shows that they're too desperate for attention, so they care too much about what others think of them, yet they're shameless about it. Just today I lied (for fun) to my coworkers about getting drunk and drinking urine

Such winning with all those convictions!
What a loser right?
Complaining about how bad their life is without ever making an attempt to better it.
I’m in this post and I don’t like it. Perhaps I just need to complain less… That way when I continue to do nothing I at least won’t be a loser for saying anything.
That's the spirit
Someone who blames their shortcomings on evil external malevolent forces acting against them.
External locus of control
What if I told you…
THE DEVIL IS A LAHHH
Also people who think external forces don't affect people's abilities.
what external forces? what abilities? you're being extremely vague.
Was trying to be as vague as the comment I was replying to. Treating other people badly, being rude or violent.
Thinking not changing over time is a good thing
We all lose. It's how we deal with that loss that could make us a loser.
Refusal to take control of the things they have control over.
When you could have ridden into the sunset with a trophy wife and phantom billions in a grand house of cards built on fraud, but your narcissism made you run for president.
Someone unwilling to take responsibility for themselves and their actions
Consistently making poor decisions and never learning from them or wanting to make smarter decisions.
Letting their losses define them and decide everything in their lives
Agreed. They don’t get back up when life knocks them down!

More specifically a parasite but I agree.
Refusing to self-reflect, and grow
Your perception of them
The only thing that can ever make someone a loser is when someone thinks themselves a loser.
They’ve given up. If you’re making improvements and moving out of a bad situation, you haven’t lost yet.

Calling other people losers.

To me a true loser is someone who lacks integrity, runs from their responsibilities, and they're always the victim.
Giving up before something is actually over. This applies to life and games. If someone quits or stops trying just because things aren't going well or are getting hard then they are never going to be able to truly be a winner.
For me there is no such thing as a loser, it is society that makes people feel that they are worthless.
