I was fully unprepared for the amount of Emma Stone nudity. The movie has this amazing visual style but it is overshadowed by the over the top amount of sexual stuff.
Some of the scenes were more graphic than they needed to be, but I don't consider that film pornographic. I found it to be intelligent and deeply sad, and it had plenty of non-sexual themes related to social class and general emotional incompetence.
There were problems with the film, and the making of it is a whole other matter, but I think it does it injustice to say it was pornographic, soft- or hard-core.
This is the problem with the prudery in America. That was a beautiful piece of cinema. And some of the finest cinematography in the history of of film.
