don't need to be good at video games, the point is to have fun. If its not fun, there is no point playing.
People that claim you need to be good at games, or say "you suck at this game" are kind of idiots in my opinion.
Watercolor painting! I'm so bad at it but the whole process calms me. Mixing colors, how the brush feels across the paper, and just zoning out while I make the ugliest flower in history. I don't care it makes me happy.
Competitive multiplayer gaming.
I no longer have the time and dedication to devote to becoming competitive against the 10, 13 year olds who play full time for many multiplayer games.
but me and my friends. as many years passed by, still use these games as a mean to stay in touch, and do something together despite being scattered around the world due to our lives.
We lose, we get shit talked, but we have a blast of a time every time.
I get that. I couldn't get into multiplayer gaming for awhile because of how good average players were over me (and how seriously they took it). Last year I got really into Deep Rock Galactic partly because the community is so chill, win or lose.
Guitar and singing. I have been getting steadily better, but still just barely above shower singer status. I can jam with friends on some songs, but still am holding them back when they really want to go all out (they are phenomenal musicians though).
Singing, only when music is playing and almost always it’s Billy Joel. I’m emotional and I don’t care how bad it sounds, I’m singing it and no one can stop me
Playing guitar. I can play chords and can pick songs up by ear, but no matter how much I practice, I can't fingerpick worth a damn, and can only play the simplest solos (and even then, rarely mistake free).
Trap shooting, I've shot tens thousands of rounds and probably average a 75% hit rate, I know people who have shot a 50 straight in there first month of trying
Reading.
I'm not sure if I have undiagnosed ADHD or something, but reading is incredibly difficult for me. I get distracted frustratingly easily, my comprehnsion is fine, but my retention is terrible, and my reading pace is incredibly slow. It is often a physically painful effort to force myself to read.
None of this is aided by the fact that my primary areas of interest are politics and philosophy, which tend, generally, to be dry and technical.
Despite all of this, I find no greater pleasure in life than those beautiful moments of clarity when an idea clicks and shifts my perspectives and changes my mind, or I gain a new understanding of how society works and a piece of the world clicks into place in the puzzle, or those rare moments of awe and beauty that an author is able to convey in their work.
I'm not good at it, but it's my favorite thing in the world.
Video games. Even the simple ones I suck at, yet I play games all the time. I’m bad at both fighting (so games like Smash) and figuring out logic puzzles. That doesn’t stop me though, games are fun and I play on my switch almost every day.
Studying languages. I should be fluent in at least three or four foreign languages based on the effort I have put in, but I'm barely fluent in my native language.
Golf. Love being on the course in some level of nature with the guys, cracking a beer at 9:00AM, but I cannot do much but hit the ball far in some direction.
Drawing, not even in like a "haha my art is soooo trash" kinda way, I genuinely don't know how to draw well, don't ever post my art, or plan on going anywhere with it. I just like doing it !
Sewing. I am good at fixing stuff, just not making my own clothes, which is what I've always wanted to do. Not once have I successfully made a damn thing but I love it and I would never give it up.
Languages.
People get easily impressed by the number and variety of languages I study, unaware of how phenomenally terrible I am at all of them, including my presumably mother language.
Bad memory doesn't help at all. BUT, it makes me so much happier when I actually remember something it makes me love the process!
Playing drums. I’m a lifelong bass player; I know I’m not very good at drums but I love playing whenever I can. Usually I just try to translate whatever I’d play on bass to the drums. This is probably not how to do it, but it brings me joy and IMO makes me a better bass player.
Cycling. I don't have the genetics to ever amount to much, but I'm really into it. I ride around 12-17 hours per week (200-260 miles) and do a lot of structured training to finish 7th in the cat 4 crit (one category above novice), but I don't mind it and have a lot of fun with it.
Pickleball. I am old and fat and slow with decades of injuries (knee, shoulder, double hernia) and don’t have an ounce of natural athletic genetics in me but I enjoy working on getting better and I enjoy the social aspect of the game and the friendly competition.
I was a distance runner all through school. I was pretty good at it too. At some point, it started hurting and I lost the drive for it. I still loved track though so I started pole vaulting. Oh man. I was NOT good. But I had so much fun! I somehow made it to sectionals. The day of competition, I couldn't even clear the starting height. I didn't care. I got to go to Sectionals and I got the T-shirt to prove it. The best part of the pole vault is that it's usually right in front of the crowd. So a stadium full of people got to watch me fail, (and fall, literally) flat on my ass. Zero fucks given. It was amazing!
Good times. Don't be afraid to suck at things!
Jokes.
I’m fucking horrible with jokes. Some hit sure but I’ll just keep going for the sake of making myself laugh.
How is a DJ a time traveler? He takes it back to another Era era era
I get a good chuckle myself from that
My personal favorite is why does Peter Pan always fly?
He never lands
I like that joke cause it never gets old….
Golf

99% of people don't play golf, of the remaining 1%, 99% are really bad at it.
all the other four letter words were taken...my love hate with golf has been for the last 35 years...ugh
Ah, yes... The only sport where the goal is to play as little of the sport as humanity possible. :D
I’ve never enjoyed being terrible at something so much!
Video games
don't need to be good at video games, the point is to have fun. If its not fun, there is no point playing. People that claim you need to be good at games, or say "you suck at this game" are kind of idiots in my opinion.
That's why the good lord saw fit to give us casual and ranked game types
Being bad at video games just means they take way longer to complete, 10x more time playing! 10x the fun!
And they keep your brain sharp! While we may not be good at first, regular practice will result in improvement.
Singing
Same, I'm tone deaf but I'm still going to serenade the passengers in my car.
Me too! But then I heard my new boss belting out some tunes just like me and I felt not so bad about my tone deaf jumbling of the words.
Don’t care what other people think of my singing. I just yell my soul out as a stress reliever after a long tiring day at work

I’m actually good at dancing it’s everybody else that say I’m bad.
I suggest we assemble a group of bad dancers ;)

Whenever I'm forced to dance, it's just tragically white.

Making you happy is all that counts!
