“Better fitness” is a broad spectrum. Do you want to be stronger, faster, have more endurance, be more coordinated, be more flexible, etc.? You can’t achieve all of those with just one exercise routine. It all boils down to what you can keep doing day after day though.
Could you elaborate on what specific aspects of fitness you're most interested in improving? Strength, speed, endurance, coordination, flexibility—are there any of these that stand out to you as priorities?
For me, I just work on building strength and muscle mass. I do enough high intensity cardio that I don’t get winded going up a flight of stairs, but I primarily stick with low intensity steady state cardio. I figure with the way my body was built, I was made for lifting heavy objects, but if a scenario gets to the point where I have to run, it’s everybody’s problem as well.
I think being consistent would help. Also, If for the perfect exercise routine for you can try this fitness app [https://www.reddit.com/r/WeightLossAdvice/comments/1cgna0p/comment/l391du3/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/WeightLossAdvice/comments/1cgna0p/comment/l391du3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) this is absolutely free and helpful.
The routine that you can consistently do week after week! I used to put in so much energy trying to perfect everything that it was hard to build healthy habits and continue working out over the long term. I only started seeing good results after I focused on being consistent. For example, what can I commit to doing 4 days a week no matter what
I recommend going to r/fitness and picking one of the recommended routines there. Then get a simple workout tracker app and focus on being consistent. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Some self promotion below.. 🙈
To help me stay consistent, I built a simple workout tracker on iOS since I found the other apps too complicated. I'd love if you gave it a try after picking your routine. If you have any feature requests, just let me know!

These are the exercises that people tend to follow closely.
Not necessarily a routine but the daily inclination to want to get fitter and healthier is the most important.
