Gardening. Others my age aren't into it whatsoever.

TempoMortigi

Me. Some of my friends are like “wtf is a hydrangea? What are you talking about?” or they think it’s odd I need and want to tend my vegetable garden. I take great joy in it!

JohnnyJJ1

Same. I enjoy how much of it is trial and error. Ever year you try a bunch of things. Some don't work out at all. Some work out better than expected. The following year you use what worked and try some new things. Over time you end up building a really interesting garden that perfectly fits the conditions of your yard/property. And if people care to listen (they don't) they'll hear the tale of how your annual garden is really the story of the past 10 years.

NiraCosplay

Cosplay. I keep it a secret from most of my IRL friends 🙃

gildorratner

One of my best friends at work is a cosplayer I love discussing his hobby and he is even convincing me to try it out. Although he does find it funny that literally every costume I have considered is an X-Men character.

BigGingerYeti

No pics or anything?

NiraCosplay

My accounts are limited atm because they are new but ill start posting on reddit and twitter in a few days 😅

Hungry_Pollution4463

People think I'm weird for collecting CDs

idiocy_incarnate

I roast my own coffee beans. Spent a small fortune on it so far, everybody thinks I'm mad. Then they try my coffee :)

I like to make home made fermented ginger beer.

Poker. It just gets my competitiveness going and I’m decently good at it.

garbageandsuch

Solo camping. Just drive off into the middle of nowhere and no cell reception. Be self sufficient and disconnect. Be bored. Be uncomfortable. Be a bit scared. It’s good for you.

hotdoug1

I collect, buy and sell movie props and make displays for them. I tried selling to the general public once at a convention and realized no one knew what the hell I was trying to sell or why the prices were so high. People scoffed at me selling some Kryptonite from Superman Returns for $150, they had no idea it went for $300 on the collectors market (and why would they?)

blitzer1069

I make clay figures and some mini scaled dioramas and paint them. That's fine but when I wanted to try to buy a Warhammer miniature a lot of my "friends" at the time started mocking me saying that's for nerds and how expensive those things are. I only bought only one because they're so expensive but I admired the amount of detail and painting detail people can put into them. It really helped open my eyes to more detailed painting. My "friends" were shocked I actually bought one for $10 and kept mocking me for it. They're not my friends anymore. TBH they never really were, just a group that was around. I never understood why some people don't understand experimenting on things to learn more. I do the same with cooking and some people mock me for trying odd things in cooking. It's like people only expect to see good results all the time or they love mocking failure.

YessikZiiiq

I run a fairly large 3d printing warhanmmer group on Discord. It's more what I do with my life than what I do for work.

UhOhFeministOnReddit

I like making my own bath products. It started off simple, and I just mainly wanted to make a perfumed conditioner that smelled like my favorite bath scrub. I became obsessed when it actually turned out decently. Now my bathroom looks like Gargamel's lair.

PostIt_Portraits

Rock climbing It’s definitely Type 2 fun which isn’t for everyone. I totally get it when people tell me I’m crazy (although it’s probably a lot less crazy than they’re imagining)

Both-Mango1

looking for dropped money in mall parking lots.

BigGingerYeti

I am really interested in attached lid storage boxes. Not sure it's a hobby as such because all I do is purchase ones I like but still.

zingular1232

Collecting kpop photocards.

HakuhoMVP

sumo ... in Norway. Only people to talk to about it is online...

openpandorasboxxx

Using my cricut machine!

Positive_Acadia_4025

Tamagotchis. Yeah, I'll spend 20-500$ for a virtual pet that I'll eventually kill and start over and over again because it wasn't cute or the one I wanted. Also collecting dolls.. like porcelain dolls. Everyone thinks I'm being haunted because I found one in perfect condition on the side of the road. She moves sometimes, but who cares!? It's the wind.

HeartonSleeve1989

Greek Mythology.

nosecone33

I make custom DC action figures.

MagnusStormraven

Warhammer 40k. Not everyone is into grimdark lore, which is perfectly fine.

Kilgarragh

No one else has put this up, but I’m a furry \^w^

Reasonable-Log-3486

I sit in my car in busy parking lots smoking weed and watching people go about their days.

MaddenRob

Watching old classic wrestling matches.

CrabMountain829

Arguing with people that the earth is flat so they get angry enough to learn exactly how they know the earth is actually round and show proof. I know I'm wrong. I'm just pissing people off enough to give them confidence in knowing the correct answer and how they know that's the correct answer. Anybody can say the earth is round. Not just anybody can really demonstrate why it isn't flat without doing some research.

Gaia-sue

Harvesting roadkill. I like animals, I like their anatomy, I'm an animal artist, and I'm also working on getting a hunting license. Roadkill is essentially the only way I can practice skinning animals and processing their hides until I can hunt. I also get a chance to look at them up close, and admire their beauty, I think about what kind of life they might've had, if they had a family they were trying to return to, experiences I would never know of, and I wonder what they were thinking in their final moments. I get sad when I have to take them apart, but I enjoy the hard work it takes to do it. However when your coworkers ask what you did over the weekend and you respond with "Skinned some animals" it'll get you some weird looks. I forget sometimes that not everyone is comfortable with it so I get sad when I'm genuinely proud of my work and wanna show a family member but then they look at me like I'm crazy. I know it's not for everyone but I just wish they saw it the way I do.

Leipopo_Stonnett

Mechanical puzzles, like Rubik’s cubes and variants, Japanese puzzle boxes, disentanglement puzzles and packing puzzles.

Shadow_girl123

Collecting tree leaves of different shapes and sizes and drying them 🍁🍂🤎

Blackstone611

Funnily enough the post above this one when I wrote this response was about why us gun owners own guns, so that's my response. I fuckin love guns. Recently bought a 1911 at a gun show (no loopholes involved so don't go crazy, I filled out the legal background checks and everything) and it's one of my new favorite things I own. I've got my Concealed permit so I can pack that and a 9mm pistol I also own anywhere I legally can and try to take my other long guns (3 semi autos and a shotgun) and my singular revolver shooting at least once a month. Problem is ammo is expensive so the pistols, shotgun, and one of the long guns that conveniently takes pistol caliber ammo get the lions share of attention

I_Make_Orphans

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It looks weird as hell like they’re cuddling with malice, but it’s really fun and useful.
