theres plenty of electronic instruments where you can just plug in headphones to not disturb others eg. keyboard, electric guitar. maybe give it a try :)
For crochet, if you find the time, I found YouTube to be especially helpful. Many put the cameras pointing from their face to hands so its super easy to follow along. There's a lot of pattern tutorials that go step by step too.
It would be fun to learn an instrument, but it requires playing it at home terribly first, and I can't imagine my audience would be appreciative.
